First Day of R211T Service On The C Line

On February 1st 2024, the R211Ts began operating in customer service on the C Line, a day every New York transit fanner has eagerly awaited.
The R211Ts are unique prototypes that feature open gangways which allow people to travel freely between cars without risking your life just to move from car to car and station information displays which show the transfers at each station, where each exit is located and where the lifts (elevators) are.
20 of these trains have been ordered and we have yet to see if the MTA will order more of them, but they very likely will not order more of them considering the fact they cannot run express on certain corridors on the subway.
This is because in the event of an emergency, the crews wouldn't be able to get in between the carriages incase the train goes BIE, thus they are only allowed to run on local lines such as the C.
