I think your channel does the most to show everyone the versatility of the Eastonmade Products. What you do is as real as it gets.

Man those are some big rounds. I’m impressed with what you can do with that box wedge. One thing I’ve figured out with my splitter which is a 4 way and after watching you with a box wedge. I believe that it’s better to quarter rounds that are bigger than 30 inches. I feel it’s faster and less of a dog splitting them.

Hey Sheib that machine is a beast. Very impressive, it’s a true testament to the quality of Eastonmade products. It’s my opinion that Andrew is leading the way with his line up and innovation. I think his machines with the built in conveyors are a game changer. That base of sycamore would make an amazing tabletop
    Cheers Woody !!!

I have some 33" red oak logs right now i have a modified box store with drop in wedges like everythingelliot done. I love the huge oak logs. I noodle them but so much wood comes from those big rounds. Im wanting a 12-22 bad. Im glad you are pushing the limits. Big wood is mainly what i can my hands on.

Hi Don. I get a lot of big straight rounds like that. The pullback arm on the box wedge really makes it easier to handle them.

I got a load of big sycamore from tree service guys and it kicked my butt. Noodled it down some and then just started taking splits off the sides and worked around and around .My Eastonmade 5/11 would split down through the centers but was a slow struggle. Good luck and pick a cool day to wrestle that stuff👍👌🇺🇸🇨🇦💪

Scheib, you are getting some massive rounds too. Those big rounds are a lot of work, but make a lot of firewood. Sycamore can be difficult to split, alot of people do not like messing with it. 12-22 did really well with the oak rounds. Beast mode on the beastonmade

I realize this wood is to be split for firewood, but that huge 66-inch slab in the center of the frame at 14:25 of this video could become the focus of a killer natural edge table if a decent board could be carefully "sliced" from it. In fact, you might get more than one slab, if not a few more, all of which would have a similar grain pattern for a savvy wood craftsman with a vision. It appears he wouldn't have to fill many splits, gouges or crevices with epoxy, either. I'd post some shots of this hunk of wood on social media and see who comes calling with a checkbook in their mouth. You might wind up making more $$$ for those slabs alone to more than pay for other wood you've had to process. Why not check out some YT woodworkers like Black Tail Studio and see what he says? Ya never know, ya know?
