  • Video is a full review with my brother on the ESPN 5 part 30 for 30 Documentary Series O.J Made In America. This was probably the most heated and controversial video we ever did together, if you can make it till the end you may be in for a treat. Orenthal James Simpson

You're correct, CTE can only be discovered after death, although I'm sure there's other brain damage testing that can be done while the person is still alive. I'm interested in checking out this series after hearing your review. I tried watching the fictionalized FX mini-series starring Cuba Gooding Jr, but I gave up after three episodes because I thought it made OJ look way too sympathetic. It sounds like this documentary takes a more honest approach however.

Who the hell cares what a guy who watched 1 1/2 episodes of a 5-part documentary thinks about it?!? And then he has the gall to continue opining about it throughout the review!
OJ: Made in America is an incredibly well crafted series (that won the Oscar for Best Documentary!) which is NOT sympathetic to OJ Simpson! It tells the complex truth of life in LA during the 50s and 60s and how racist the LAPD was, which it was. The series is great journalism, fact based and unbiased.
These guys are complete know nothings when it comes to OJ or the context of the era in which he rose to fame. How do you explain "how OJ was a nice guy when he was young?" without CTE being part of the explanation? Here's how: According to his oldest and best friend, OJ was and is a sociopath who never thought the rules of life applied to him. He also lived a double life in white America and black America. He was a gorgeous talented athlete who ALWAYS got away with everything, including murder.
One of the best parts of this OJ doc is the depiction of the armed robbery plot near the end, which shows just how unbelievably stupid men can be when they get together and "plan" something. You wonder how on earth OJ's "friends" came to believe that OJ's lame brained scheme to rob the memorabilia guys (jackasses in their own right) at gunpoint was a great idea.
Autumn, if you're out there: Give thanks to God that this jerk got away!

FYI, there were plenty of black women that were on the jury that was employed.

The documentary made it sound like they had to settle for mostly black women on the jury due to the length of the case. I didn't mean to imply that they were mostly unemployed.
