I love glycolic acid. I switched from L’Oréal to The Ordinary due to quantity and price difference. L’Oréal is much better quality than the Ordinary imo, but I’m not paying $25-$30 for that lil bottle.
@@exomake_mehorololo Good question! The honest answer is the concentration (10%) and how fast the results came 🤷🏻♀️ Personally, L’Oréal felt better and more effective at a quicker rate. I’m a woc and I noticed that TO’s glycolic acid would cause hyperpigmentation. I felt like it always smoothed my skin but eventually I noticed my skin would look slightly darker in certain areas. Like I burned myself but I never felt any burning like when I do a real peel. Same thing happened with their aha+bha peel. The discoloration doesn’t last but it’s bothersome. Once I made that connection, I remembered Dr. V (another dermatologist) talked about how this can happen with skin of color. I doubted it cause I hadn’t made the connection yet! Now I just stick with mandelic acid. I was wondering if I could possibly use glycolic acid on my scalp 🤔. I think I’ll test a small area
Does this information apply to snail mucin??? I've heard that snail mucin has glycolic acid, but when I look at the ingredients and promotional points on my snail mucin toner it doesn't say anything about glycolic acid.
Hearing these negative sides about glycolic acid makes me wonder why people rave about this ingredience? I have seen many that uses tretinoin rave about glycolic acid which they use on their days off etc. But it sounds like its nothing special with this acid?
Your skin also changes too. So it’s true there’s no such thing as must-haves for all skin types. It’s also what works for one doesn’t work for others. What works for me may not work for others and vice versa. I for one don’t like glycolic acid I much prefer salicylic acid along with vitamin c derivatives for dry aging skin. When I was younger I liked AHA including glycolic acid (in my teens and early 20s). I don’t like glycolic acid now it irritates my skin actually.

Conditioner can cause breakouts...even on your scalp. Redken soft buttercream conditioner, I believe it has avocado oil in it, irritated my facial skin, scalp and even my upper back.
No but it will cause hair breakage and split ends. For breakouts, change your pillow cases everyday if you're suffering with breakouts. Also keep your phone clean too! And also do not touch your face throughout the day and wash your hands clean regularly. You didn't ask but these are some things that have helped me!

I use a glycolic mask by Serious Skin Care , I love it!! It works great and I have never had any problem with it
Great info! I’m 57 and use 10% lactic acid every other morning with my skincare routine. I’m thinking a once per week glycolic treatment would also be beneficial but maybe I don’t need it. Thanks
I LOVE lactic acid
Happy Tuesday! Can you please make a video about skin manifestations of COVID?
I am a wound care NP and am seeing several cases of Covid toes.
@@4everyoung24
What are Covid toes symptoms? Not familiar with that issue. Thnx
I see video of dr.Idris she used the ordinary glycolic toner in her lips
Luv this💖 Thank you, you have answered so many of my questions! 🌷🌸✨
Can you talk about like mood lamps that are supposed to help with seasonal depression. Are they ok to not wear spf with?
Does this information apply to snail mucin??? I've heard that snail mucin has glycolic acid, but when I look at the ingredients and promotional points on my snail mucin toner it doesn't say anything about glycolic acid.
Hello dr dray. I am 56 years old. And i have very dry skin . What exfoliation recommended for me ?
Thank you for informing us. Your the best.
Hearing these negative sides about glycolic acid makes me wonder why people rave about this ingredience? I have seen many that uses tretinoin rave about glycolic acid which they use on their days off etc. But it sounds like its nothing special with this acid?
Can you do slugging while using glycolic acid
Happy Tuesday!
Morning!
@@DrDrayzdayGM Dr I I recently burnt my skin with over exfoliating and that part is so thick, dry, and has visible pores what should I do 😭
Wonderful, informative video as usual!
The Isntree GA has been wonderful, I use it twice daily
Tq dr. Can we use scrub next day after applying glycolic acid?
Oh no no it's not recommended to use any physical exfoliating such as that Scrub. Your skin is already exfoliating w the Glycolic TX. And your skin will regret it it's too sensitive
Hello & Happy Tuesday, Dr. Dray ❤😊
Happy Tuesday !
happy tuesday!
Greetings Maricel Gundayao hope u r well n Happy Tuesday😀👍💜….
Thank you so much Dr Dray! You are our best friend in skincare & i know not only me but everyone else who come across you on UA-cam look forward to all your videos ❤❤
I tried glycolic acid once on my face before bed. My face and my lips were on fire for two weeks.
Dr. Dray, what is the best sunscreen? I am in my 50's. Thanks:)
Melanin
So what should we use under our arms? I've tried the peroxide wash you recommended and it's not helping. Suggestions? Just had a full blood and hormone panel done and everything is normal!! Please help!
What about glycolic acid peels? What are your thoughts on them?
Pretty sure she has videos on those. You can just do a search, dr dray chemical peel.
I can vouch for the Alpha Skincare body lotion 👍🏾
it is really good!
You’re so informative Dr Dray and I love watching your videos! They are very helpful as I’m in esthetician school making sure I know my ingredients and am using them properly 🧴🙌
I made the mistake of applying it daily on my face and it burnt my skin. It’s a great product but use it sparingly and not daily. Avoid the eye area.
Cr. You are the truth!! Thank you so much for you information, very helpful.
Dr dray! Do you have any opinions on using topical sulfur for acne? I just saw the inkey list has a acne clearing moisturizer with it in it and I'd love to hear ur opinion on it!
She has a video on sulfur
I use glycolic acid 2x a day every day. Usually on damp skin after washing my face. My face is not stripped but I lean oily.
I love my Peach and Lily GA Lotion it’s never irritated my skin also PTR Exfoliating face wash Retinol Fusion PM & the Even Smoother serum is the best for texture totally changed my face!!!! 🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍
Thank you for sharing your knowledge! ❤
Thank you so much dr.Dray. I just started using the ordinary glycolic acid toner so I have so much knowledge on it thanks to you! 👍🏼❤
does glycolic can lighten my butt cheeks?
Thank you, Dr Dray! Could you provide information how make-up and creme-blushes etc impact the performance of sunscreen? Always afraid of putting on creme products over spf. Thank you in advance!!
Really hard to find something for my tech neck.. trying vita C serum; tretinoin is too strong. Is AHA any better for neckline wrinkles?
Same. No tretinoin, no adapalene. I can use that beauty of joseon eye cream with retinaldehyde without any irritation on my neck though
So what can one use under their arms?
would a 'dark spot' caused by a healed burn benefit from Glycolic Acid spot treatment (on back of hand)?
Hi, Dr. Dray, my face can’t seem to tolerate the ordinary glycolic acid. I still have a bottle to use up, but is it ok to use it to exfoliate my thighs at night for KP?
I would watch Dr Dray's videos on KP. She doesn't tend to recommend glycolic acid.
She says this in replies to others comments. I’d definitely use it up on my arms and legs with a body lotion on top
Mam, how to treat post chemical burn PIH..? I damaged my skin with chemical burn and it is deeply pigmented.. suggest treatment opinions..
Thank you for the video. It is very informative and worth sharing.
Can i apply first niacinamide serum then after can i apply glycolic acid serum?
Glycolic acid 1st
Thank you so much Dr. Dray you have really save my depression regarding allergies in my face and neck. I have done patch testing and it has helped a bit. But still not pinpointed. Since i got allergy in my face i have got dark spot on my upper part of face. It’s not going. Already 4-5 months. I just bought a glycolic acid to use it. If you can give me some tips please let me know. My dermatologist is not that much interested on my skin it seems. Did the test that is it. Do i have to contact him again or i keep following you😊❤
My phone comments don’t seem to appear but thanks for this! ❤❤❤
happy tuesday!
Happy Tuesday !
Is it safe during pregnancy ?
My glycolic acid pao got over and it is still so much left in the bottle, what can I do. It didn't expire though.
Hi Dr. Gray, is it okay to apply vitamin c serum after using glycolic acid toner?
No! it would irritate your skin. You can use the glycolic acid at pm and the vitamin c in the am
I used glycolic acid (the ordinary) on my neck and back. I like the results. Even though I have been using it for almost a year, I can still feel sting and pinching. 6:30
Good morning Dr Dray ❤
Happy Tuesday!! I Hope You're Having a Great Day!!🦋
Greetings Claudia Smith hope u r well n Happy Tuesday😀👍💜….
Morning Doc, help me understand;
Does sleeping with wet hair causes acne/ breakouts?
no
Conditioner can cause breakouts...even on your scalp. Redken soft buttercream conditioner, I believe it has avocado oil in it, irritated my facial skin, scalp and even my upper back.
It can cause your pillow to accumulate mild and mildew though. 😳
@@RazorbackNation75 oh😦
No but it will cause hair breakage and split ends.
For breakouts, change your pillow cases everyday if you're suffering with breakouts. Also keep your phone clean too! And also do not touch your face throughout the day and wash your hands clean regularly.
You didn't ask but these are some things that have helped me!
Could you please talk about applying vitamin e from capsules meant to be taken orally on skin face and body?
Topical vitamin E serums : 🌚
It's not designed to be put topically , so there will be different in ph and formula , it's not going to help.
Ps. Iam a pharmacist
Im currently using Glycolic Acid from Good Molecules. can I layer it with Niasorcinol Serum?
How do you apply the Neutrogena? Do you have to use a cotton pad or can you pat it in?
Can abreastfeeding motheruse it???
Hello dr.
can I use toner glycolic acid on my legs (strawberry skin)
Happy Tuesday Dr Dray…see you tomorrow x💙🤩
Thanks for being awesome as per usual Dr Dray!
Can you do another DT video soon?? I love those and they’re pumping out all kinds of skincare for spring including glow recipe dupes I hoping for your word on!
Is there any recommendation on percentages? I’ve used as high as 50% but only able to keep on for a 1-2 minutes and rinse off with baking soda water. How often would it be safe to use this level of percentage?
I love all your videos. Thank you
