My partner at the time texted me while I was in Europe. He apologized and I sat down utterly defeated. I then had to go work for the state department at the embassy where people were celebrating his win. It was just the weirdest day. I had 1 month left on my contract and did not renew it. I couldn't work for Trump. In fact, I left the US and it was the happiest and best decision I ever made.

Reminiscing over these 8-year-old episodes, I like how the "And Now..." rubric often had as its theme "How is THIS still a thing?..." It took more thought to produce those pieces than pasting together clips of some news anchor repeating the same phrase over and over.

Watched this entire season in 2024 while recovering from Covid....it's infuriating to know how everything turns out and not be able to tell anyone who could have stopped it
