I love his focus on style not airs, just my taste. He’s truly dancing. Music a great accompaniment.
Pure poetry on the water
That last sequence starting at 7:35 is so righteous.. it starts with an avoided touchdown then a dead downwind backwind then he decides to go left so he changes to a port tack backwind then he accelerates madly down a wave and transitions to a starboard tack speed run along the wave then a tack then a ludicrously high-on-the-mast foot switch.. and there's probably a few subtleties that I missed.. epic!
10 years ago leading in kitefoiling and now in windfoiling elegance, Nice.
Wonderful video. Very elegant style. A great tutorial without words with great music to support the video. Thank you :) ☀
Holy crap, Johnny doesn't need a board with the size of those feet, just add the foil directly to them.
What a video though kudos to Clay.
Amazing balance, Natural Born Sailor, simply the best. As if it would be easy... Thanks for the videos.
This guys style inspires me.
So nice. I'm trying to learn how to gybe and I always keep touching down at the end. But I see that Johnny, just before he switches feet does a little press down on the tail to pop the nose up and that extra lift gives time to get round and switch the feet. Will have to try this next time on the water. Thanks for the video!
Great video Clay. Johnny is super inspiring, I just learned how to Jibe like him last weekend, and his jibes actually flow really well into a tack for a downwind 360 as well. Super fun to do, love to see the clean style from these guys.
Clay, this is a treasure trove! Thanks so much for sharing. JH is superb, in hi def and slow mo especially!
I constantly revisit this video trying to tune my race tacks and gybes. THANK YOU!
Beautiful video, amazing to watch Johnny’s technique in slow motion. I really like his duck jibes at the beginning of the video, so smooth and effective. Thanks for making this and sharing it.
what a flow & great dynamic!!!
Great video. As I still struggle with foot changes, these slowmo's are a valuable resource for me. Thank you.
Awesome technique and control 🤙🤙🤙 great job. Greetings from Denmark 🇩🇰
Beautiful vid, and great to learn from.So flowy!.

Gracious as f#@$%! Also, thanks for posting it, Mr. Clay! Great quality and good choice of music.
Awesome.
awesome !!!
Smooth!!!!
Great!😍
WOW, thanks for the classes and share with us.
How did you ever find the wonderful (royalty free) music for this video? There are sooo maannny songs by the composers that you used and to find exactly these songs, that are so beautifully fitting to this video, must have taken ages.
Often it does take me a while, with this I had months worth of song searching stored in my library. What's crazy is YT just updated the music library and deleted saved songs...
Heh. I love this video so much I play it every time I want to sit back and relax. The tunes, the visuals, the beautiful surfing motions. Hardly any wind blowing here this week, so currently mentally surfing with this video again - preparing for the next wonderful session. @@clayisland
Wow
Water state on the outside looks crazy
Yes.... I wondered if it was outgoing tide or flood tide?
Interesting how his back foot is not centered over the stinger but clearly on the toe side rail. I was told it was bad form. If JH does it then clearly it is good form.
On my previous board, I could not center my back foot , had it more to the side. With this board (I was on this board yesterday) I was able to keep my foot in center becausethe board is so light . It was very responsive, and managable if i messed up and put my feet in a wrong place during switch. FYI, 4'10" x 23.5. 85-88L
@@tomasgulas interesting! what brand and model is your board?
Can the two people who downvoted this video explain? I'm curious...
Love it - Awesome technique. Does anyone know which hat he is wearing? And does anyone know the dimensions of his board ? Think I have seen the sequence about 100 times 🤙🤙🤙
Patagonia Hat
Can we get some more details on the foil? Is it a 100cm mast? And size and volume of board?
Great footage. Really miss SF and hope to be able to travel there again soon.
I believe Johnny rides Mike’s Lab foils
@@greg.ocallaghan yeah I’m hoping for few more details than just the brand. I got an 85cm mast and thinking of trying a 100cm as ride in similar bay swell conditions
buen baile para trasluchar, popa-proa-popa
effortless. do you know who makes his board?
Johnny made his own board.
@@clayisland looks like nothing out there on the market, but such a simple and effective design. Any more info on it?
@@greg.ocallaghan The only person I know making boards in the Bay Area like this is Jeff Clark.
@@clayisland thanks for replying, looks amazing, will investigate. And thanks for all the videos you make of the guys in the bay area pushing the sport, gives us on the other side of the world something to aspire
Which board does he use?
Why front straps only?
My experience is rear strap is only helpful for airs.
Easy to control lift at a wide range of speeds by moving the back foot forward and backward.
Mes-me-ri-sing……
Can't you find someone with talent to shoot video of?
Ha!
