Nojima: In less than an hour after they announced this new character named Albedo, I got countless of calls from my friends who I hadn't been in touch with for a while. Apparently they're playing Genshin! They were like, "Noji!" ah right, they called me Noji by the way, "Noji! Are you casted in here? Casted??" Actually before I got the role--I'm really sorry for this, but I didn't know about Genshin at all. I didn't know that my friends were so hyping up over this game, about this game's impact and popularity among them... and that got me surprised like, "eh? I don't think I know better than you guys so please teach me!" From now on, while having my friends lecturing me about Genshin, I'm thinking of start playing this game as well. Oh boy, how surprising. "How was your first impression of Albedo?" Nojima: Albedo, huh... There are things I can't speak of about him, though. I was wondering about how I should voice him. I received the design and script, and then went to the recording studio and asked, "how should I voice Albedo?" At first, I thought he was a smart boy, and people called him genius. So I was like, "okay, I'll do it the cool way. I mean, he looks cool after all." But then I heard more of his personality and background, and the final product is... his voice is quite high-pitched, even for me. And... it's not like he talks monotonously... it's more like he's aloof, like standing in unreachable place. I've never done a role like this before. It was hard, but worth the work. Ah right, the hardest part is... well the hard parts are indeed coming in from now on! Because he'll get to talk more in the future, and his lines are quite hard to express. But to me now, the hardest part is the grunts when he holds his sword and swings it, when he jumps, and when he dashes. To me, the nuances in those parts are the hardest to voice, because I have to do it in a calm manner with his personality in mind. Somehow it feels like I'm being sent to the starting point and learn the basics again as a voice actor. My role... well, like I said, it was quite hard to build the voice that suits this character. Albedo is not good at dealing with human relationship and he hates mingling with other people, so you'll get the cold impression from his lines. But there are other things like when he is with Klee, where you can feel his kindness here. It got me thinking again, how should I act that part? But the person who did the casting said that my voice has a kind tone. Like even when I say something cold, it'll give off a warm impression. It's kind of lifted my burdens, like, "ah, I can stay being myself to be Albedo." Albedo is cold, but yet also kind and warm, and that's the pillar that supports me when I act as Albedo. "Do you share some similarities with Albedo?" Nojima: I always seek for the similarities with the characters I lend my voice to. With Albedo... hm, I guess it's our genius trait. Hm (nods). Now I feel embarrassed to death--I lied! (laughs) Similarities, huh? You know, I heard that they'd ask me this question and I had thought of an answer, but I can't remember it now (laughs). It must be because I said something funny, sorry for that. Now let me see... Ah! I remember. He studies the things that piqued his interest fervently, and he just brushes away the things that are not interesting to him. I think I'm that kind of person too. Albedo is genius so even though he doesn't like it, he'll get it done anyway, but I can't be like that, though. We share the same bad part (laughs) but maybe for Albedo it's not a bad part, though. Anything else is... Albedo likes sweets, and recently I turned to a fan of Japanese traditional sweets, like yokan. That's my favorite. Albedo is skilled in art, and he draws a lot. I like drawing too... though I'm not good at it (laughs). When I have time I draw sometimes. Actually I tried doing the woodblock print the other day--what, you don't care about it? You should! I wasn't in the same level of concentration as Albedo's though, but I was focused on my carving for around 5 hours. I don't think we share a lot of similarities, though (laughs) but I admire him in some parts. Like how he's always calm and composed when he's studying, and how he controls his mind. He likes eating sweets, but only because it's beneficial for him. If he doesn't need it then he won't eat it. He can be that decisive even when it comes to something that he likes. I'm more impulsive, like, "it's tasty, so I'll drink more of it." Yep, now it's become an alcohol talk, I'm so sorry (laughs). "Other characters you find interesting?" Nojima: Albedo doesn't interact with many people, and one of his small circle is Sucrose, his assistant, also someone whom he shares his knowledge to. Sucrose is someone that makes you feel like you want to teach her many things, and the more you teach her, the more she grows. She'd make an adorable student, don't you think so? Other characters... It's Klee. She's like a real little sister to Albedo. I don't have a little sister, but if I did I bet I'd spoil her so much that it might get people think, "I think you're going overboard, dude." (laughs). You can find Albedo's sweet side when he interacts with Klee and feel his personality gap. He's always calm and collected, but when it comes to Klee... Klee is, you know, always setting up some pranks and getting the adults mad at her, but Albedo is always like, "oh dear, it can't be helped." and cleans up after her, maybe even saying, "Klee is good girl." Maybe Klee is Albedo's weak point--oh, now come to think of it, I thought Albedo had no weakness. To think that I discovered it while doing this interview! I think Albedo is a calm-mannered with a loving heart, and a very special character. "If you could travel in Genshin world, what do you want to do?" Nojima: Genshin world is so vast. I wonder how vast is it... Like Shinjuku? It's even bigger than Shinjuku, you said? As large as Suginami maybe? I don't know (laughs). It's vast and you can actually go everywhere in the map. I used to love making games, actually--I prefer making games than playing it. So I programmed it alone, building a big map with lots of people in it while thinking about how fun it'd turn out when I was in middle school. After meeting Genshin I thought about the game I made and like, "wow, to think that there's a bigger world than what I made." I want to meet a lot of people in Genshin and have conversations with them. And with the situation now, we can't go outside for some drinks, so I want to go to the open world with some people, setting up camps, and have a drink with them. I'm interested in hiking, but I don't like cold, snowy mountain. But I think I'd like to follow Albedo going up to the snowy mountain and set up camps with him. Other things I'd like to try... I wonder how they grow plants there. I've been in the mountains for quite long, and tended plants there as well. How about making gardens in the open world? Rice paddies, maybe? I don't think they have rice paddies there... I don't know for sure though (laughs). Growing some rice and--ah! The mochi rice! Let's grow the mochi rice and make some mochi! @Rinnosempai It was so weird since a lot of anime roles Ryohei-san did didn't sound like his normal voice. I love his normal voice so hearing Childe was like music to my ears
I don't use him as an elevator, I use him as support that buffs my entire team. also, I don't know if it's just a bug but his elevator doesn't work on surfaces that isn't flat. The platform wont rise up if the floor is not flat
@@TheCraftingBulbasaur I sent a ticket to mihoyo as early as possible and their response was that it isn't a bug and that I should just avoid placing it anywhere with obstructions(including clipping through terrain). pretty shit it also won't go up if a monster happens to be stepping on it even if its just halfway through. i guess it's intentional. easy way out for them to avoid glitchy interactions without more effort on their programmer's part

のじまさんかわい、話も思いついたようにいろいろ喋ってくれるの楽しくて好きです
何気なく祈願したらアルベド先生が出てちょうどエピソードが終わったあとだったので愛着わきすぎて探索せずにずーっとボイス聴いてます。声も話し方もビジュアルも性格も全部好きです。
聖遺物のこととかは得意ではないので効率よく強くする方法なんかは分からないんですが軽率に使っちゃってます。

I don't use him as an elevator, I use him as support that buffs my entire team.
also, I don't know if it's just a bug but his elevator doesn't work on surfaces that isn't flat. The platform wont rise up if the floor is not flat

@@TheCraftingBulbasaur I sent a ticket to mihoyo as early as possible and their response was that it isn't a bug and that I should just avoid placing it anywhere with obstructions(including clipping through terrain). pretty shit
it also won't go up if a monster happens to be stepping on it even if its just halfway through. i guess it's intentional. easy way out for them to avoid glitchy interactions without more effort on their programmer's part
@@rzt430 they havent done a thing to the swapping character glitch either, especially at the Dvalin place. They have the budget but didnt even bother to make the game perfect.
