My mom passed away from breast cancer I always questioned heaven and hits home when he says she probably reached him in the form of a baby’s laugh what a masterpiece piece of a lyric I cried my heart out
I’ve heard this a dozen times and I still can’t listen to it without shedding a tear. Andre’s verse hits my heart so hard- my parents got divorced when I was 8 and the bitter resentment that my brother and I had to hear about and deal with growing up connects me with his verse. They had so much disdain for each other and never had a problem sharing that with both of us. Ironically enough, the trajectory of how my parents have turned out makes me think they were great partners for each other because they’re so alike. They still don’t “seem” to like each other and I know they are not treating their bodies the right way. Inside I know it’s not my fault or my brother’s fault, but still that verse hits so hard for me. And J. Cole’s verse - “ supposed to be relaxing this passion makes it impossible”- so many people call me a scatterbrain, but I just have so many interests and passions. I feel so alive when I’m able to engage with them. My wife keeps telling me I need to choose a path and go with it. Although it’s a solid message, the passion I feel for my creative works is just so strong and intentional- it flows through me so deeply and purely. I feel so damn misunderstood in this word. I truly appreciate both of these lyricist’s verses- both hit the nail on the head, and I’m so thankful for whomever brought these two tracks together. And if you’ve taken the time to read this short novel, I appreciate you. One love y’all ❤️
The way 3000 flow has ascended to ethereal realms is a wild evolution to witness. He sound so fluid effortless and conversational you feel like you actually talking to your boy or you might be at the dopest poetry slam you ever been to. Amazing flow
Man that first couple of bars that 3000 spit hit home for me because my mom and dad have passed away. And the way he calls God Ms.Thunder hits on a deep level, I often ask God to let me hear my mom, and I do. And I too carry her last name which was decided at birth. I resonated with his entire verse. Wow, the first time I heard this song it brought tears to my eyes. I’m out here with no mother. Or father I’m glad I believe in God I have peace with myself, but this is in my playlist when I’m feeling down Amen.
This is the coldest mashup I’ve ever heard, I had an outer body experience over this 3K verse, the beat selection was hypnotic and allowed the verses to breathe separately explaining the stories so well. Great Job
ALMOST everything you've ever heard Cole on was a beat that he produced. Look into broski. The boy thorough. I could only dream of getting the opportunity to get on a track with the likes of Simba.

Discovered this song by accident. I was going for a walk on the beach in cali… needed something to listen to on my headphones. And i searched Andre 3000 and this song came up. I listened to the first 30 seconds and i knew it was going to be a spiritual walk. Took my shoes off, walked close enough where i walked in a little bit of water if a big wave crushed. I lit up my cali’s finest … took a few hits, stood in one spot and listened to the whole track. Put this on repeat, and got to walking… between the sand in between my toes, thc coursing through my system, cali sun setting and wind hitting my face… i went for the longest walk with this song on repeat the whole time. With every repeat i worked through my own issues .
A MASTERPIECE!! When I say WE as a collective consciousness NEEDED this. My heart hurts because we are in such despair with all that is going on from death of loved ones from a pandemic, distractions, to war, confusion to the mass...ALOT. This track RIGHT here..... from TWO CONSCIOUS Kings was spirtual food that allowed my heart to smile. We MUST all come together and SPREAD love...we are REFLECTIONS. We have to STOP felling like we better than the next just because we may have a bit more money or a degree that only allows you to still WORK to live. We HAVE to get it back to concious love if not we will continue chasing our tails and wondering if we either coming or going. ~Queen Sade (This supposed to be relaxing, but this passion makes it impossible ~ J. Cole)

Simply beautiful, powerful, potent, and endearing. Thank you for creating such beautiful art that resonates. Andre’s verse though - the longing, humble inquisition, and hopefulness. Cole’s vulnerability around his purpose. This is just too good, too great.

Made me sad he can't talk to his momma. I lost mine 10 years ago. She just started talking to me this year. It's bizarre. But it's love. Send it to your brother. I haven't talked to mine in over a year. Can't replace family.
Please send this song to your brother. I lost my sister, any time with family is precious. You may be able to heal the past, it is worth it. Stay strong.
Lost my Mum this year May 5th on a road accident, listening to Andre's lyrics makes me recall those instances I had stayed long without calling her, I always procrastinate calling till she called, the moment she called I always felt guilty asking myself why I never called her first, now she is gone how I wished I made those calls frequently when she was still here. May 4th was the last we spoke, she's the one who called as always. Rest Easy Mum, I really miss you, sad how I can't call now to know how you are doing up there!
I wish the music industry would be as good to 3 Stacks as his music is to us fans of his gifts and talents. If you have it left in you we welcome you, and haven't forgotten what you've done for us. J. COLE thanks you for continuing to be a rock in this music thang young man.

Why and how did Hip-Hop get away from this art/form of storytelling ?!? These lyrics make my heart smile.
the ART of storytelling
Because it never did.
You just gotta dig, the underground always filled with heat.
Whoever mixed these verses on this beat deserves a lot of respect and renown behind it (not an actual track but still better than a lot of songs out)
I thought i hear both verses before but u right it is dope
Damn this not a real song????
@@T3zMon3y it's a blend. Andre 3k verse from Kanye's Life of The Party and Cole's verse from Deja Vu maybe?

Check his verse with Anderson Paak.
Andre 3000 never disappoints 🙏🏾🔥🔥true black excellence right hurrr
Fkn excellent perd.

Both J. Cole & Andre 3000 verses hits your Soul. Spiritually and Lyrically blessed.
Yes, yes and furthermore....yes!!!
~Queen Sade

Hey, Miss Donda
You run into my mama, please tell her I said "Say something"
I'm startin' to believe ain't no such thing as Heaven's trumpets
No after-over, this is it, done
If there's a Heaven, you would think they'd let ya speak to your son
Maybe she has in the form of a baby's laugh
I heard passing by in a stroller reminding me, "Hey, keep rolling"
I don't know, maybe she has with a prick of a blade of grass
I've been laying on way too long, got me itchy
Got up and roamed a lil' more
Miss Donda, you see my mama, tell her I'm lost
You see, she'd always light a cigarette, we talk, I would cough
Exaggerating a lil' bit so she get the point
Tryna get her to stop smoking, I would leave and fire up a joint
'Til I quit, started back up again, 20 years later
All that time, y'all thought a n- was high, thought I was crazy
My mom, she ain't cut no corners
Got me back on track, I don't miss her overstepping
But do miss her showing Seven civilian life sh-
Ah, Miss Donda, you see my mama, whisper her this
The real reason I was geeked to go to church
Must confess, when y'all grown-ups would be in Bible study
That girl helping me with my homework? Her and I were f-
So pure and p-, so spirit spinning and dirty
So on, so on, and so on, we hoped that no one heard us
And to this day, I think her mama knew but let us explore
Miss Donda, you see my father, please, ask him why he never married
Always smiled, but was he happy inside?
Because I carried my mother's name, did he carry shame with him?
I'm sure she did it out of spite, it was her decision at birth
Shit, she probably was hurt, ah, poor baby
Two young people with different views, a lot for a young lady
No coincidence, they both passed away from heart conditions
There's a dissidence at play, dad and mom do hard division
Three Thou', poster child for big - raised by their mothers
I'm supposed to smile as if God knew that I would be troubled
Keeps me around, for what? I don't know
But I do know that it's crucial, that we do so, pronto
I don't know how much long though
With every record I be asking the masses to tune your hearts to me
I represent intelligent niggas that grew up harshly
But lately I've been questioning, second guessing
Whether or not I've got something to offer since I done eluded poverty
Or has the money watered me down? That truth is hard for me
Like the second time I got cut from the junior varsity
Fightin' back tears, I promised to switch gears
And said to myself, "Whatever you do, you won't do it partially"
From this day forward, I move with a new ferocity
Ferrari coupe velocity, a fail proof philosophy
Success is in the effort, so if a nigga tried his hardest
I'm at peace knowing God ain't deal it in this group of cards for me
Some people say that I'm running third, they threw the bronze at me
Behind Drake and Dot, yeah, them niggas is superstars to me
Maybe deep down, I'm afraid of my luminosity
So when you see me on red carpets, I'm movin' awkwardly
Posin' all nervous, afraid of the judgement
And the thought of showin' too much of my day is repugnant
I be keepin' my kids away from the gaze of the public
'Cause these days, it feel like hate is they favorite subject
Fuck it, attitude like a young O'Shea with a AK
Aimed at your brain, violate, and I bust it
I don't play when it come to family, that's one thing I refuse
Pimpin' they kids out for views to just to be in the news
Could never be me, I piss in the celebrity tea
God with me on this record, this is Heaven's EP
The tales official, the best nigga breathing, it just failed to hit you
You couldn't tell 'cause you fell for the bells and whistles
And that's an area I don't excel
I'm from the 'Ville where young girls talk grown as hell
That's raw, never saw one person go to Yale
But every nigga that I know done gone to jail
At least once, provin' we the ones police hunt
For the pains, we smoke three blunts the size of tree trunks
Too much hunger, it's no wonder these niggas can't keep up
So saying "Yes" to a feature just means I'm 'bout to eat lunch, bitch
I'm goin' for it, no never shall he punt
I'm the one and you can be sure, speaking of beachfront
I'm kickin' my feet up while I write this in somewhere tropical
Supposed to be relaxin', this passion makes that impossible
