Even after all these years I'm watching this performance with tears in my eyes!!!
I truly hope that Daisuke will be forever remembered, because there's no other like him...
Thank you for the beautiful translation and please, please keep on making subs to more
Kagerou songs, because it's almost impossible to find any....

I've found it really hard to find anything on Kagerou, much less in their heyday. Thanks for subbing and preserving more of their music. ♥️

I fell embarrassed of myself for having eyes just for Kazu.
I think it's beautiful you pay respected like this after all these years.
In a way, it's the deeper meaning of performances - something volatile and based on beauty.
I adore Kazu. I still know where he's and what he's doing. Actually, today he's a better skilled musician. And still beautiful. And still talks about him.
Had so many thoughts on my mind as watching this - thank you so much.

Got here after a long tangent after realizing that despite being 10 year or so sub I've been shafted by this god damn bell button. A Kaishun Diru cover had me lamenting about Daisuke and I went down a rabbit hole but thank god I found this channel again. I was like DAMN Kusatta umi has a sub now? Wait it's 5 years old now no wonder it is newer. OH FUCK IT'S HER, WHY HAVEN'T I HAD ANY NOTIFICATIONS COME UP." So happy to see you still active as a channel UA-cam didn't tell me otherwise.

Love that you're doing more Kagerou! Any chance you could also do some KuRt? They are very underrepresented on youtube.

Oh my~ peri. Thank you so much for translating this song! This performance is so powerful.
I have a question because I try to learn Japanese on my own right now.
How do I know the title is pronounced as watakushi? I mistakingly always read it as watashi, it is the same kanji right? In other words when I see this kanji how do I know whether it revers to the genderless version watakushi or should be read as watashi?
Thank you so much for your beautiful work on this and for sharing with us. I hope people will never stop remembering Kagerou 🤍

      Thank you so much for your kind comment! ;-;
Unfortunately the only way to know is context, which - in this case - doesn't really exist because it's just a song title. I only know it's "watakushi" because my European copy of "Shinjuuka" has the CDs tracklists written in romaji.
Sometimes there is just no way to know how a word written in kanji is supposed to be pronounced until it is actually spoken out loud by the writer (or written in hiragana/katakana/romaji).

@@periXreloaded Thank you so much for taking the time to answer 😊
I thought maye it had something to do with it being a title and you might use the neutral form when you are not sure who the word relates to. So your answer really helped me :)
I did not know they had romaji on their European releases and thinking about it a lot of bands probably have. It's the same with some Dir en grey songs where I only got the right pronunciation from the romaji on their OHP ^^
I love your translations so much. I hope I will be good enough one day to make some of my own. Have a nice week 💚
