You can't control model with "3 updates per second" as manual say. It is 20 times less then normal LRS. You can only switch modes of AP. Also, in not ideal condition, rate will be about 1 per seconds or less.
I need this in my life
Video reception can be a bit spotty 100km out. Luckily the TBS CROSSFIRE carries the model safely to that distance, even on stock antenna setup!

Team BlackSheep Dude, did you guys actually recover the aircraft, or did you just punch it and let the lipo explode? 18,000mAh consumed, what's left for the return trip?
Team BlackSheep
I have just gone to buy this from your site and it says its pre-order at the minute,
Do you have and approx time scale for deliveries to uk?
Thanks
***** the tbs unify 800mw, tbs groundstation with 24dBi grid antenna, tbs core pro. Please check video description
Team BlackSheep Make a commercial for quadrocopters and obstacles. Or ground test various capacities at a maximum distance.
Just completed a 20km out and back flight Today with Crossfire. The power output was limited to 100mW and stayed at 99% link quality throughout the whole flight with just two bumps that caused it to drop for a second to 75% and then it got back up to 100%. Crossfire is AWESOME!!!
100km! That is awesome!
video at 100km? can you explain please? what setup?
Need a very good helical
Probably a 1ghz video setup
Its in the description. 2.4ghz grid array antenna.
This is very impressive considering that you only used the standard antenna and beta firmware. You also set the TX to 1.2W but the crossfire can go all the way to 2W. There is still a lot of room to break new records. Congrats guys.
whats your setup if its not a secret?
Very excited with this new product !
Could you please make a test with 1.2/1.3 Ghz FPV system ? Thank you.
This is some military-grade shit there.
+Radi0he4d1 - haha good stuff man.
Now it's not joke anymore
Trappy .... I reside in NJ, USA and I had to return my defective TBS Crossfire to Hong Kong China for a replacement. I've been informed by local racers that you do have a hub in the US and the CSR Sherell in China would not provide me with that option. It cost me $34 US to ship this defective set back to Hong Kong. Not fair man!!!
I love you Crossfire TBS
It is time to change my LRS to Crossfire.
This result is fantastic.
+Marko Srepfler - I happily handed TBS my credit card and said take it all...haha.
Trappy nice work really nice
Zachary Buendia thanks bro!
Excellent work there mate, what range could one expect on these units for ground vehicle use?keep up the good work
TheYowzerr if you find yourself an elevated position you are going to get even further than with 433 MHz LRS due to the fresnel zone being lower. During developments we have walked 600m here in a rural area through woods and neighborhoods without losing the signal, obviously RX located around 1m above ground. It will be worse with the VRx so close to the ground ... BUT ... you just need to match the video range and that will be gone way before then :)
ahh ok thanks, so hopefully I will be ordering my crossfire soon instead of dragonlink or ezuhf
Hi Team BlackSheep, yet another cool product... I have a question, is in it that the frequency band of this system are the same band of GSM & UMTS Network?
+DIYRCPilot just in between UMTS bands actually. the Crossfire operates in the SRD band (Short Range Devices), with sufficient sensitivity and self-healing link tech to become a long range device ;)
Really liking the look of this so far, and the beacon mode is spot on. The only it doesn't seem to feature is an analogue RSSI out... can it be added in, there are just so many OSDs that want this
We'll find a way to get that added
what would be the range factor between your big dirersity receiver and the micro receiver?
Damn dude
great, combined with my airframe, could have made it back too.
What is the plane plateform & the lipo config?
I'm more curious about your video Tx and Rx set up. Can you give more some information on that?
2.4 unify 800mW, tbs groundstation, 24db l-com grid antenna, tbs core pro
But, the 100km are video limit not RC control..right?
@@mattia452 да
So the 1w micro tx v2 should do close to this now no????
What is the difference between rssi and lq? Why is my rssi on my full range crossfire @100mw/micro v2 rx, lower than my x4rsb/ taranis internal module? Crossfire is at 45 rssi while x4rsb is at 70. Now my crossfire lq is at 96 during this test @100mw antennas are both mounted as a 90° v on top of quad. Test going through multiple walls of my house. Thank you.
Wow!. Volantex ranger!.
Return to home with the plane?
How total Battery consumed after landing?
***** just 30km into the return trip the batteries were finished. and we landed in a field to pick it up.
i want to try a 100km flight and back (200km) with my finwing airtitan. i have a question are you using an antenna tracker ?
sorry for my english
and another question, wath us better; stock antenna or tuned for crossfire ?
Taking it you guys had people on the ground to recover the craft? Can't see a Ranger caring 40ah worth the juice! But anyway! I'm going to seriously look into swapping out my EZUHF for this. I've hit 12.5 miles with it. Was still at great link, but I was using a directional Moxon. This is great!!
eric deherrera no they drove and picked it up. There is a beacon on the UHF receiver that broadcasts the GPS signals, so they just drove into the general area as indicated from the GPS coordinates on the fpv recording, and then homed in on the signal with the Crossfire.
I'm sold!
i'm not expert in this but can someone explain me how video signal with goggles can be seen from that distance as well? is the radio connected to the goggles?
Hello, I want now your best long range products for my project sea boat.
20 Ah Battery? How much does that weigh?
A LiPo with that capacity would weigh around 2 kg / 4,4 lb.
How much payload does the Volantex Ranger have?
they use super dupper secret pico fusion batterry :)
It has its very own flux capacitor.
F*ck this, i am throwing out my Radio Gear and buying some of Trappys good stuff!! :D
what battery you put on your airplane? you fly there 2 hours and 20 minutes and of course you go back. means you have battery that flyes 5 hours? or you fly with sun-power ?
Radio waves bounce up and down from the earth and the stratosphere until it hits the RX
Whoops wrong comment

Yea, well...I got about 70 Meters on my Frsky, R9M so there.... 😜 To be fair, it was on a Maiden flight and a testing session. Still appalling though! I'm gonna upgrade, no matter what I do with this R9 module nothing seems towork, it's either faulty or it's shit🤮✝
Nicely done BTW!
whats the update? coz afaik both r9m and tbs crossfire have same specs in you case the problem is noise probably
INSANITY
WHAT GPS Module and crossfire is he using i tried to look for it in the description and couldn't find it.
Full size crossfire and corepro with tbs gps.
I live in syria , where can i buy ?
Wtf, 100km.. So unreal
A good and more real world test would be to set it to 150mw (ezuhf JR module) then, see what range can be achieved.
This IS a real world test. It's not TBS fault that the ezuhf JR module only does 150mw. I haven't had my discovery much past a mile out yet but even then the crossfire hasn't been above 10mw of power with a constant 100% link quality. This system is legit and FULL of awesome features.
what is the range like vs a 433 mhz system? such as dragon link?
I'm curious too, somebody?
Depends on the system. I've personally done a ground range test of Rlink/MFDLink (which I think may have been the first LRS to use LoRa) out to 100km with 1W of Tx power and omni antennas on both ends (whip on Tx, dipole on Rx). Had a solid link as long as LoS was maintained. Folks have flown various 433Mhz UHF systems out over 160km. The other issue is that not all control frequencies play nice with long range video frequencies. 1.3Ghz is the undisputed king of long range video, but it often steps on 2.4Ghz control systems, or is stepped on *by* 900Mhz control systems. This system claims it is "unaffected by local noise" but that would generally defy the laws of physics. LoRa can listen below the noise floor, but that makes it resistant, not immune to local noise sources.
FWIW, almost nobody really needs 100km of range. What you really want in a good LRS is the ability to fly through the nulls of the antennas, behind your back, and occasionally out of or below LoS while maintaining control. In other words, the control link should *never* drop before the video link, and you should be able to tell your aircraft to do something like turn and climb while flying blind behind a mountain (something I've done many times with Rlink, even 10-15km out).
did the unify pro 800mw transmit to 100 km ?
Highly doubt it unless using a antenna tracker and a many turn helical or Yagi or somethimg.
It was a l-com grid array antenna. And the 800mw 2.4ghz did as you see in the video.
So Trappy, how can I get my Taranis and a Crossfire to talk to my tablet PC running Mission Planner ? The Crossfire would have to relay Mavlink protocol telemetry and commands to/from my Pixhawk-equipped-quad.
Thanks in advance.
Big pack Battery you Must have day master Yoda
How does DragonLink Compare to this?
+rajeevpandrangi It doesn't..
That doesn't make any sense breezyjr
It doesn't compare, because the DragonLink won't go 100Km, doesn't have the self healing connection, and many other functions... So, what doesn't make sense??? the two don't even compare...
self healing connection? breezyjr
+rajeevpandrangi That's what Trappy calls it... Basically, from what I understand, if it detects any type of "problem" it will change to a different channel... I'm not entirely sure, to be honest... I've just heard Trappy describe it that way...
Главный вопрос - почему видео не отвалилось? Они что там на спутниковую тарелку принимали?
When can we expect you to start dispatching them? :)
2-3 weeks
This comment aged well. 2 weeks. Lol
really? with the presents may fly to 100 km -(ONE HUNDRED kilometer)?
I would have went with CF for long range fixed wing FPV but there is too much noise on 2.4GHz in most places I fly and 5.8GHz doesn't have the range. 1.2/1.3 doesn't play well with CF from what I'm reading. CF give me/us a much better video signal out to or more over a very noizy 2.4GHz environment and you'll have tons of sales.
What airplane is that? Whats the power setup?
David Kaden Volantex ranger

Fucking bought one didn't I. Can't wait to get that shit on you tube.

Wow, I guess Dragonlink is gonna get killed off soon... LOL
100km! Wat!!!!!
+Andrew Smart - I agree. Simply mind boggling.
@@aerofpv2109 1.2watt lol
If my 70mm Crossfire 3s whoop could carry a car battery I'd attempt this but.....
Woo 100 K= 60 Miles as the Earth curves at 8 Ins per Mile squared ie 8 x 60 x 60 = 28'800 ins :- 12 = 2'400 Ft below your horizon that some going to have a signal round a curve OR IS WHAT EVER WE LIVE ON REALLY FLAT ? ? Just asking ...
Brian Mabbett I came to a similar conclusion... at a distance of 100 km an object HAS TO be at least 784 meters high, to be (barely) visible behind the horizon. Strange...
That's not All ships have reported seeing Light House's at over 42 Miles (68 K) when it should be 1'176 Ft (726 M) below there horizon ? Me thinks we are being lied to. .
Brian Mabbett Seriously... Seriously. Another Flat Earth certified wacko.
Justin Saneti you tell me how then ?
Brian Mabbett That's why they take off from a mountain ! ;)
***A*W*E*S*O*M*E***
Why trying to be within legal output power while you are not breaking so many other laws...
Lol
Some laws may change. Others will remain.
yes easy with this altitude 😂
U can go 100km and go disappear becoz u dont really see ur battery voltage 😏
By By, IRC UHF... Hello Crossfire
+RCFox - Same here man. I threw my credit card at TBS.
Was IRC UHF really that bad, compared to the TBS prices?
Which part of this is legal ? High power video feed without ham sign ? High power data feed without ham sign ? Or the hardly controlable airplane in the class G airspace ?
Martin Demin obviously you don't fly....come one man they aren't hurting anyone ....people like you kill me
1W ... in the wilderness? please?
