1000 IQ play: Using Crossout Designator to stop Crossout Designator
10000 IQ brain: main cloggy maindeck parts of meta decks for designator.
I really like the meta implications of this card design. The more popular a card becomes, the more reliably Crossout Designator will be able to stop it, which will naturally serve as a check against that card. Its very existence in the game promotes creative deck building, because the more predictable your deck is, the harder this card will hurt it. The best part is, it's not something rouge deck need to use themselves to benefit from; the top decks will punish each other with Designation while leaving rouge strategies untouched, allowing it to serve as a buff for rouge decks without them even having to play it.
My thoughts were the same-in a manner as to what Trickstars were pre-Worlds victory and Thunder Dragons inclusion (making Reincarnation the south end of useless against them). They're likely gonna keep the format from being THAT hand-trap heavy by their very presence, as Trickstars once kept the search-happy max power SPYRALs in check. Really might be the best anti-meta card I've seen; rogue Decks won't have, or *need* the liquid to have to use this unless Handtrap-fu gets too big (again, which this will inhibit), and the meta has ways to keep each other Decks from mimicking them too much.
This thing is pretty much a Ghost Reaper for main deck stuff... neat
For those who haven't noticed yet, This card is a crossover card crossing over the old D.D designator spell and nobleman of crossout. You can see that in the pose. That's alot of crosses
This card's name also references D.D. Designator and it's also Designed as a potential extra alternative to Called by the Grave, which is directly translated "Designator from the Grave". That's a lot of 'Design's C:
"Infinity War is the greatest crossover in history. "
Crossout Designator: Hold my beer.
*meanwhile in Japan*
“Why did they lower the side deck to 12 cards?”
@Aidan Tsukiyama Just a joke, he is saying that this card is so good that it is mandatory in the side deck
this was the anime eff of gold sarc. When yugi defeated atem. Gold sarc negated monster reborn
"It's only Main Deck"
*Ghost Reaper cries in corner*
Plot twist: this will be imported in the Revolver Structure deck
bregs91 I hope he uses his new link and fusion in the anime. He’s one of the best characters
nah dane se wont have it since it just came out ocg expect it next year
They must have limited called by the grave to increase demand of this card it must be releasing the TCG soon and I bet it's very hard to get so everyone's going to need to buy lots of sealed product to get it
metaphys players like me needed something like this...the gold sarc hit to 1 was brutal :(
Soon we wont need field to play cards. Everything will activate from your hand
nah... konami will make a Deck Trap, or even Extra Deck Trap instead lol
They already do. It's called Dangers. Everything will actually activate from deck in the future
@Ryan Spooner wouldnt ash negate alot of things that activate from the deck? Not quite sure but I feel like ash will never die. #Banashblossom
Not as good as the new Volcanic support will be, once it finally arrives
Day 74 of waiting for new Volcanc support
Metaphys got gold sarc at 4 now thanks to this
Melod3x ! Yup now just an extra deck monster that doesn’t get banished and another low level normal Summon that maybe is a high scale and we are in business.
Not gonna lie, probably gonna play Crossout over Called because of the superior artwork
To elaborate- I think Cimo's best point was at 2:05, though my thought was around the handtrap I regularly used, PSY-Frame Gamma (again, since it didn't immediately hit the GY and thus worked around Called. (Seriously, my Madolche's have a love-hate relationship with that card.) Crossout Designator'll do numbers, but as a complement to Called in the same way Impermanence did to Effect Veiler. Or Gamma.
P.S. also lol that this card does a better job of countering counters than the card that is *literally called Counter Counter*
Metaphys smiles in the Background
A rare instance of the algorithm pushing an old video that makes total sense.
Guess I can’t look at Prohibition the same way again, thanks Called By The Orgy- I mean Grave
This could also be a massive combo piece for BA. Negating the effect of self blow up means that in combination with cherubini would mean massive combo potential!
You can also use it as a searcher if you have ways to return banished cards back to your hand. Ofc the card won't be usable until its effect are "reactivated".
2 years later and here we are 😆
Very useful in mirror matches.
Here we are, more than 2 years later and we still don't have this card. Really hoping this is one of the big OCG imports for the 2021 Mega Tins like Dragoon was for 2020.
you can tutor all you orcust monster you need on opp turn + negate it & attached that with dingirsu for next turn push
Nobleman of Crossout! Thought I recognized that character.
Hey, the knight from block attack is back, proud of him.
I've been waiting for one of these videos
I think that most decks that want this are control decks in terms of main deck. I think there a few mirrors that want this if there a large portion of an expected meta game salamangreat being the one I think most likely maybe danger thunder
If a competitive deck can be ran as an engine (sky strikers) you can effectively use this and a sky striker engine to get the edge on strikers. (I'm not 100% sure if it's worth it but you can side a salamangreat card and run this, and it's a mini engine to counter any given deck.)
Meta 2019: Using Crossout Designator to negate Crossout Designator that negated Called by the Grave that negated Effect Veiler that negated an enemy Monster effect.
Nice
Is the geargia rampage worth buying 3 of or should I build it from scratch?
*This is basically called by the grave for mirror matchups*
“Solemn Judgement hadn’t been out for long enough.” Are you sure about that?
I know right. Solemn Judgement came out in 2004 for the TCG, and Soul Charge came out in 2014. It was out for a decade lol.
Well, it's nice seeing this card in TCG and semilimited in the OCG in the same week
Looking forward to the upcoming meta
I'm expecting prankids to get even more obnoxious to deal with this card around, but they're probably getting a hit of some kind on the next banlist anyways.
"Old man from Called by the Grade having an orgy with the mob in Prohibition"
So is Nobleman of Crossout off to the side being a voyeur?
Maybe a good idea would be 2 called by the grave and 2 crossout designator in theory. It will likely vary due to deck and meta.
can't wait for this card to be localized as Crossout Callout
...and then the OCG makes "Designator" an archetype just to screw with the tcg's localization team. XD
One more thing I like about this card, is that it deck thinns and shuffles your deck, increasing your odds for a better top deck! ^^
Cross designator chain links be like:
I activate this card
I activate this card
I activate this card
I activate your mother.
Wha-
You heard me. Your mother. I activated her.
Something I was wondering though if your playing a combo deck and your going into game 2 or 3 why not play 3 cross out designator and a specific hand trap(s) you know your opponent will have to stop your key combo pieces.
This vs dangers would be interesting.
Now we can have ma boi maxx'c' back *^ *
Nobleman of Crossout
Reminds me of the MTG's pithing needle
I watch these videos specifically to hear his voice randomly go high pitched
Even if you don’t main deck it you should always side it. It’s usable in any mirror match.
Almost all of the cards you review end up either being really good or really expensive. First chance I get to pick it up, I will. Great video. Thank you Alex. This card is awesome.
Who came back here after this card got confirmed in the megatins?
So crossout is called by for monsters and s/t for the mirror match
6:09 "solemn judgement hadn't been out long enough".
Kind acts like a sarcophagus in thunder dragon you can just hawk or roar the banished card on your next turn kinda cool
@@brianaguilar8283 yeah but play it on your opponents turn then bring it back with hawk or roar lol on your turn
This gave me mad nostalgia for the days when Nobleman Crossout was at 1 lol.
hi cimoooooooo, i have a question, sorry im french and im confused to understand this card, u can negate effects of any hand traps too ? right ? :D thanks for answer :)
I think a smart way to deliver jump promos now is make them promos in a special edition
I know this is old but this can stop nibiru as well
you think counter trap based decks are in advantage with crossout designator around?
The card is cool but i would play it only in my side deck if i play a meta deck in case i play a mirror matche.
2 years later...
I could see this being between side and main deck with 3 copies with opponents main strategy main deck cards like widow anchor being sided.
Vanity's Call. Fuck everything in this whole Chain. Lol
What why don’t we get jump promos any more?
Wow mirror matches are fun now..
Question: Can you not use it to banish the card you want from your deck (search) and then because is face-up banish cycle it back to your hand to use it next turn or your opponent turn?
you could but that's incredibly slow and would like result in your opponent just killing you with borrelsword
This card needs to come out already
Chain the card against your opponent get some crazy chains 😂
Wait, if it only negates effects on the field, then it can't stop hand traps....or the card translation was wrong.
What if i remove proto cyber dragon.
Are my Protos on the Field still named Cyber Dragon?
Ready for the counter meta? Ash to counter engines, called by the grave to counter ash, now we have Crossout Designator to counter called by the grave.
Inb4 Solemn Judgment to counter Crossout Designator and then Counter Counter to counter Solemn Judgment. XD jk
Don't forget the special editions of the core sets.
You're supposed to play this in combo heavy decks that also run handtraps. Gouki and Infernity would have been literally unstoppable had this came out earlier
Is it possible some of these Jump Promos are going to be a part of the Legacy of the Duelist game's Hard Copy? I feel like they're saving something for sales. Maybe that's where Needlefiber will be added?
Also unlike Called By The Grave. Crossout Designator can be used preemptively. For example: It's your turn, you're going first on turn 1, you don't know anything in your opponent's hand, so you can use Crossout Designator to banish Ash Blossom from your Deck to prevent them from using Ash Blossom that turn.
Slows the game down, forces more interaction, combo decks can't use it well. Sounds good to me.
Does support floodgate.deck quite well tho. Imo we need a good balance between combo and stun playstyles and rn the meta is shifted more towards stun
Why can't combo decks use it well? It's like 3 more called by the Graves to get your combo trough any handtraps.
@@trueking8362 It's explained in the video. Combo decks would have to run more handtraps in their main deck to utilize it, which they don't really wanna do.
Mitchell I glad it doesn’t help combo decks a lot. The only way to stop some of those decks is handtraps.
They need to put this in a box or something as an import asap. It'll sell a set on its own.
Crossout dessignator also stops pay-frames
Can you do a top 10 side deck cards vid for the Yu-Gi-Oh may 2019 format!
Hey guys! Don’t most of the hand traps activate in grave? So would this card really be able to stop veiled & ogre and etc?🤔
Nazumii Kuroni Ahh Thank you. First glance I read that shit way too quick. Thanks man!
If ghost reaper and called by had a baby, it would be this card
Now we need A New Version for nobleman of extermination
It’s like a giant ghost reaper
yes
A card that can negate itself? Hell yeah!
Good for the thunder mirror. Banish dragondark to negate dragondark.
Instant plus 1
New staple, nice.
2 years, it fianlly here
They must have limited called by the grave to increase demand of this card it must be releasing the TCG soon and I bet it's very hard to get so everyone's going to need to buy lots of sealed product to get it
Sick card!
When is this card coming out?!
10:40 [SpongeBob time card] 2 years later...
Short answer: amazing
I think we will reach a point where competitie decks will just open cards that negate like fucking everything and 1rd turns will start like "i activate this"
"well, i negate it with this card"
"But i negate your card with mine now"
"I will negate that with this card"
and such to the point where no one could resolve anything, and the turn just ends.
I want this card
AFAIK, the way its worded it only negates the effects ON THE FIELD, so handtraps can still activate and resolve since they never hit the field. Its different from Called by the Grave because that card specifies that "monsters with the same original name" have their effects negated basically anywhere.
It's the same wording as Called by the Grave. Read both cards and they're both the same. It negates any activated effects of the card in addition to all its effects on the field.
@@TheCardTrooper It is not the same wording. Crossout Designator says "Declare 1 card name; banish that card from your Deck, and if you do, until the end of this turn, its effect are negated, as well as the activated effects and effects on the field of cards with the same original name". The way its worded means the card that YOU banished has its effect negated. For example, if you banish Thunder Dragondark, you won't be able to resolve its effect, and on top of that, if your opponent banishes their own Dragondark from their GY, it WILL resolve, since Crossout Designator specifies that cards "on the field with the same original name" have their effects negated.
Went back to the rulings of Called of the Grave and yeah, the "activated effects and effects on the field" are a single "statement" if that makes sense. So, if Crossout Designator is worded the same in JP they might be the same in that sense. My apologies.
Hey, Cimooo i like it Soul Charge is power put Deck Synchron :( ♥
lmao “we might get it in a couple months”
And here we are now
I can imagine the chain links now.
"Oviraptor effect?"
"Ash Blossom, negate"
"Called By The Grave, negate"
"Designatior, banish called, negate"
"Designator, banish Designatior, negate"
We're in a new era of Yugioh now
Banishing designator with designator feels like a paradox.
Vanity's call I win
**Chain ghost belle to your designator**
@@Christopher23451 I honestly just can't believe that Konami's solution to handtraps is "just negate all of them lol"
Add a Cursed Seal to that.
