I imagine a young Navy wife sitting on her Corpus Christi balcony in 1943, watching the sun sink into the Gulf of Mexico, thinking of her aviator husbsnd whom she met when he was doing his carrier quals at NASCC, driving out to PT Aransas, sailing to Matagorda lighthouse, dancing at the O-Club before he shipped out. Now he's somewhere in the Pacific and she's waiting back home with her memories, listening to the music they danced to and hoping he makes it back.
@@jonascleveland611 and you can watch them both on the same body of water, depending on where you are. I've watched the sun come up from the deck of the USS Lexington on Corpus Christi Bay and watched it set from a wooden jetty at NAS Corpus on the same day, complete with dolphins.
Oh you come to me at twilight The soft summer breeze the sand The waving hair But how am I to know? This feeling has no name Each morning I dream of twilight And wait for your glow Down where the moonflowers grow Far beneath the sea awaits a home for me
i see a 20s yacht decorated with palms flappers dames gangsters rum runners The Chief Randolph Hearst, a dog, and a piercing daring sunset. The last sunset i love this i need this
@slowginfizz69 I've never been in such a world, Slowgin. I was born in the 'burbs of LA and the beaches...but if you're serious, thank you...because you just painted a really great picture I'd like to visit someday.
@slowginfizz69 wasnt this just one of those records? same here, except the gulf of mexico, with a trade wind on the beach house deck, crawfish, shrimp, and redfish. still live in a port city in south east texas.. but i dont make it to the pennisula and cabin that much anymore.. much less across the channel on the ferries to galveston.. is NC sandy or rocky? anyhow, hope you make it back to saltwater.. i know i got saltwater for blood, and withdrawing without some sand in the drawers..
I'm wondering who these 8-10 people are who took the time to give any of these videos a thumbs down? These must be terribly boring people, with very small brains...

I am a musician today because of this album. And thanks to Ken and Tom. Lost contact a while ago but got to meet them and the whole band in 99.
The bands that are "popular" now cant hold a candle to The squirrel Nut Zippers.
Oh you come to me at twilight
The soft summer breeze the sand
The waving hair
But how am I to know?
This feeling has no name
Each morning I dream of twilight
And wait for your glow
Down where the moonflowers grow
Far beneath the sea awaits a home for me
Incredible song. So perfectly chill
