    Menstrual cups are the best. I have been using them since 3 years now. And I'm not shifting to pads ever. It is much more comfortable, hygienic and environment friendly. It takes 1-2 cycles to get used to it, believe the process, don't ever give up!!!! Once you're used to it, you'll be proud of yourself 💖 Just girls don't panic it won't get lost inside you! There are sizes available do check before buying. Maintain a good hygiene and make sure you store your cup in a hygienic environment after washing & sterilizing.

    I was so scared the first time I used it because I'm only 18 and I accidentally ordered M size, and I tried inserting it for months but it didnt go in. So make sure you're using only S if you're below the age of 25 and have not had children. Next step being insertion, it'll pain a little bit for a second but it doesn't pain after its inside. If its your first and second day, remove it within 5-6 hours. While removing sit in a squat position and pull the stem, and press the cup from the bottom which would release the air and break the vacuum. Do not sit in a squat position while inserting it, try putting one foot on the toilet sit and one on the ground.

    I think first cycle with menstrual cup was difficult for everyone. I started feeling comfortable with it from the 3rd cycle and by then I could figure out which size will be perfect for me. Maybe you should give it one more chance.
    Also I prefer the push down fold instead of the C fold.
    I have heard people's really bad experiences with menstrual cups but I always suggest them to try it for one more cycle. If you're still not comfortable then you can always go back to tampon.

    switching to menstrual cups has been one of my best decisions. the first cycle was a little overwhelming ngl, but after a couple of cycles, I got used to it, and it's amazing. literally the best thing for periods. also would suggest you sit down on your toilet seat for the insertion and removal of the cup for better access.

    Some tips :
    1. The cup need not be filled up to the hole to leak.. It can leak before that as well. Understand after hoe many hours your cup starts leaking and remove it before that. Eg on first days I have to change my cup in 8 hrs. On 3-4th days I don't leak if I keep it for longer.
    Leakage could also be if suction hasn't been created. Use your finger to check around the cup if suction has been created.
    2. Menstrual cups are a learning process. Don't jump to changing in public washrooms at once.. Try the cup on 2nd day as a beginner or in the nights first.
    3. You need to relax yourself while insertion and removal. If you don't then it'll be more painful.. And whrn you remove, you HAVE to remove the suction and then press the cup and pull it out.
    4. I put my cup in hot water post cleaning it with running water everytime when I empty it in between periods. This makes the cup softer to put it in.
    Menstrual cups are a leaning curve so don't give up on them so soon. Try it for a couple of times in more convenient environments. You'll fall in love with them once you get a hang of them 😁

  • @Swati_Sudhruti
    @Swati_Sudhruti 2 роки тому +21

    Yes girl wrong size is a nightmare. Even though many brands advice medium etc size for women in 20s and not given birth still it's not always true. I guess we all are different 🤠🤠 it took me around 3 4 months to get used to it. But now that I'm using cup since 1 and a half year, using pads now seems like a nightmare. The wetness and supposedly smell - i don't like that now. And ofcs the small efforts to use less plastics begins from these steps. You go girl.:-):-)
    And yes one thing if girls likr me who experience the cramps for first 2 3 days and their period last for 5 6 days, using cup will feel very very hassle free cz Just pop the cup and forget it for 12 hours and just Change and repeat. :-P
    It'll get easier i swear. Also don't panic if you accidentally wore it for more than 12 hours, it'll not cause any serious issues although there is always a chance of toxic shock syndrome. To avoid this you can always set alarms.

      @@sakshi_shivdasani Hi Sakshi, I had a similar reaction as yours when I first used it and gave up for a few months. Then I looked at many videos that eventually helped me get comfortable with the menstrual cup. I am putting my learnings down here, in case it helps anyone:
      1. Start with the smallest size of any brand, no matter your age.
      2. Squat over a toilet seat when removing, so the blood will spill directly into the toilet.
      3. When removing, press the cup from the bottom or the side to break the vacuum.
      4. When you have inserted it if you are having pain or discomfort in that area, it means it is not inserted correctly. Remove and try again.
      5. Plan your day such that you do not have to remove or insert the menstrual cup in a public restroom or any other restroom where you are not 100% comfortable.
      Disclaimer: I am not a medical practitioner. The above tips are just unsolicited advice from my personal experience. If you do not like it, feel free to ignore it.

      I didn’t have a good experience either….I tried it for 2 cycles and had to switch back to pads and tampons mid cycle both the time. My vagina is a bit sensitive than normal so when I use menstrual cup my walls get irritated and swollen by day2/ 3 of continuous use and I could barely put the cup back and once I couldn’t even put a tampon in. This happened even after breaking the vacuum first and then pulling out. I didn’t have any leakage but personally I prefer tampons.

  • @Nikita_saini26
    @Nikita_saini26 2 роки тому +4

    There will be a lot of help if before removing the cup you sit on the toilet seat and push it out as much as you can , then you will be able to see the stem reaching itself the opening of Vagina and if it's painful which means you are not pinching it down before removing....we have to pinch it inside only to release the vaccum created by the cup( that's the reason why cup is holding up there)
    Don't assume you pinched and the vacuum created is gone no !! Sometimes it's only about releasing the pressure built inside after that it's veryyyyyy easy to just pull it out.
    Alsoo don't worry it's not gonna be lost inside ourbody , neither is the cup gonna marinate lol
    It's the safest to our bodies ❤️

  • @tupurverma
    @tupurverma 2 роки тому +2

    When taking it out, you shouldn't pull the stem, pinch the cup with two fingers to break the vaccuum and then take it out, takes a few cycles to get used to but it's so worth it, sometimes doesn't even feel like I'm on my period

    Hey
    I started using menstrual cups during the pandemic and i will never go back to a pad or a tampon. I believe getting used to it during the lockdown really help me get comfy with it. I can't even feel it in me now. Pulling out can be tricky if you are holding it by the step, you need to squeeze it a little yo release the vacuum.
    I faced leakage like once or twice, once because it was in for 12+ hours and flow was good. And once was initially when I started. I would urge you to keep trying this. Your life will be so easier.

The entire day I kept thinking about how I am going to lose it inside and then what will I say to the doctor in the emergency room and what will I tell my parents why I need to go to the hospital. Sakshi, I think you might need to cut the stem a little to make it smaller. I faced the same problems, with it going too far up, because the long stem is pushed up when we sit or wear tight clothes. So cutting it helps it sit where it's supposed to sit. Also, I'd recommend wearing light period panties or Panty liner as you would with a tampon, because some drops of spillage is expected. I would really like you to try it for a couple cycles throughout the whole cycle to get the hang of it because it really is the most convenient. I wear black period panties so i literally don't see any blood all day except when I change my cup.
