I recently purchased a pair of silver armorial cloches with matching plate warming stands from the 1800's that once belonged to this family at auction in New Orleans. It's great to see from whence they came! Gorgeous Chateau !!!

Very nice video. Thanks. One of the prettiest chateaux that I've seen. It could have been longer🙂.

Is it for sale? Whatever it is a grand chateau. Some incredible decorations. Magnificent. Make a longer video next time, but thank you.

I think this place must be the most exotically decorated castle ever - I have been enjoying castles via UA-cam for several years, and just found this one - THE most elaborate ceilings I've ever seen - quite gorgeous if they weren't so impractical ! Whoever lived here was a glutton of expensive things ! This place screams of greed, pomposity & 'if its possible I want it' !!! Sad really !

Nothing sad about it. They had the money, so they made it lavish and enjoyed it. And those are typical French ceilings of the period. Your attitude is very odd. "If I can't have it, then no one else should either."

The castle was originally built in the 11th Century. The chateau was given to the Duke of Brissac by King Henri IV in the late 15th Century who had several restorations made, thus those magnificent ceilings typical from the Renaissance 15-16th Century.

The Duke of brissac, François de Cossé-Brissac lives there. It's his castle. France still have living noble families since the 9th and 11th centuries. descendant by male like knight templar or duke, count, etc.. France is very very old.
