The reason those vocals are so good is because travis Ryan (the vocalist) made the technique called tunnel throat used by Lorna shore and other crazy vocalists such as dickie allen.
I love Travis Ryan, definitely my second favorite vocalist. Absolutely DIG his diversity in the screams. Not to mention, the way he rolls his R's when he screams is IMPRESSIVE. If you're curious about my favorite vocalist, that goes to Einar Solberg of Leprous due to his diversity in his cleans, who is also brother in law of Ihsahn, a black metal legend who played in Emperor!
@@vesuvius115 I was gonna say the same thing but couldn't do it in a relatively short comment. One of my favorite things about Cattle is that each album scratches a different itch. I agree 100% that their last 4 albums are 5/5 stars! I still vividly remember the exact moment and location of the first time I ever heard Cattle Decapitation (it was the "no second chance" part in "Your Disposal" and I was hooked!)
You can find some clean vocal on their album Death atlas, with the song titled death atlas, in the begining and in the end. I think his rasp clean vocal remind me of AD/DC's front mans vocal and his clean vocal reminds me of David Bowie.
Saw them live for the third time last friday in Montréal. This band name should appear under "Adrenaline" in the dictionnary, they are insanely awesome! Make sure to catch the "Decibel Tour 2023" if it comes near you (I think at this point it's headed for the west coast for their last few dates)
@codyb6849 OK, maybe he didn't directly, but that doesn't mean he wasn't exposed to it. His main influences were Eddie Hermida whose first record I think was with GunMetal Grey in 2005? Also Dan Watson whose first record was with Enterprise Earth in 2014? At least this is what I could find on Google! Travis Ryan however was doing vocals and drums way back in 1991 with a band called Anal Flatulence! At any point in time, the musicians of the day are influenced by what came before
@codyb6849 no of course it doesn't matter. Having influences is what makes you want to play an instrument, so it's totally cool. I was just referring to your comment about how Travis reminds you of Will Ramos, but Travis has been doing these vocals since the 90s, so it was just a funny statement that's all! I wasn't beefing.
Tauri, you need to check out Bring Back the Plague from their previous album, Death Atlas. The chorus is all cleans like the ones you've heard at the end of this song. Nonetheles, A Photic Doom is a good track to get into Cattle since it does not have any blast beats sections and it is very groovy. Travis, has such a unique voice, with fantastic range that allows him to switch seamlessly throughout the songs, adding a lot of dinamic to the music. And yes, there are techniques to produce those vocals without jeopardizing your health. It's also important to read the lyrics and understand what he is saying as they criticize all the things we do to the planet and how terrible we are as a species. Give their last two albums a shot, Death Atlas and Terrasite, and from there you can walk your way back to the previous two. Have a great day!
I found these guys around 2002. They were leaning more toward grindcore back then but they have evolved into one of the finest death metal groups. Each album better than the last. Great reaction.
I only discovered Cattle Decap a few weeks ago and I'm completely addicted. Travis' vocals are insane and the whole band just kills it. I certainly prefer their three most recent albums to their earlier stuff though, they seem to mature with every release. Outstanding band, hope to catch them live asap!
Such a unique band and their music is just insane. This new album is a really solid addition to an otherwise insane history of banger albums! Their lyrics are also worth looking into because it an awful lot of truths about our world there. 🔥🤘
They delivered one of the most brutal and impressive albums of the year.
Facts 🔥
Indeed! A solid addition to their otherwise insane list of albums. Love this band!
Scourge of the offspring is another one off this new album of theirs that has those goblin vocals and sound absolutely epic.
Second this
Just another body is the best song on the album imo
"Solastalgia" is another one where his clean vocals shine IMO
@@jimm7346 absolutely my favorite one off the album
I call them jar jar binx vocals.
He's so good with the overtones that people think he's singing clean underneath. A true vocal legend.
Cattle Decapitation are, in a word, brutal.

Cattle Decapitation- Scourge of the offspring!!!
Definitely check out more. Anything off their last two albums is incredible.
I agree, but MAN, Anthropocene Extinction is also fantastic, same with Monolith of Inhumanity. The last 4 albums they made were top teir 5/5 stars

@@dylanhutchens1805 For me it was Manufactured Extinct in Anthropocene. Than Your Disposal. My god they're good lmao.
One of the best bands in the game
One of the best grind/death bands on the planet! Live they are even more insane!!!!!

If you want to listen clean vocals from Travis Ryan you should listen to ‘Just Another Body’. This song is just perfect in every possible way.
Check their dead can dance cover of in the kingdom of blind
I'll have to check it out as well. Dead Can Dance are awesome.
Album of the year
Lol 😂 ok I’ll put left to suffer feral there an invent animate heavener to bro 😎 this guy singing reminds me of Will Ramos to
You realize Travis has been doing this since the early 90s? Will Ramos would've taken some influence from him no doubt.
@@codyb6849 oh ok

If you want more cleans... check out Just Another Body.
I’d seen the band name before, but I hadn’t heard them. Pretty impressive sound. I could have used a bit less burning skin.
👍👍
You should listen to just another body. Cattle Decapitation
Maybe Cattle Decapitation - Forced Gender Reassignment reaction someday? 😏

Fact: Goblins are the most metal creature of all, to invoke the goblin is to invoke metal. lol
One of my favorite death metal albums of all time...and I'm old school af. Great reaction!
og metalhead here too. CD are my favorite band

Cattle Decap lyrics are a step above all
Awesome reaction 💯 the title itself enticed me.
This whole album is perfect, Just another Body is an entirely different beast in itself also
"Either billion like me ..."
I Love Your Reactions 😂❤, Look At To The Grave-.(Rec)
All Hail Catfle Decapitation
Сattle Decapitation 💪
🔥🔥🔥
he has goblin cleans
Best way to describe Travis's clean vocals is more semi-clean. They're not layered under the cracked-out Smeagol sound, that's the actual voice.
"Scourge of the Offspring" is a must.
There are not nearly enough reaction videos to these guys, thank you!!!
I definitely listen to this band every day 😎
