Gary Pilarchik (The Rusted Garden) just an excellent video overall my friend. Super helpful as usual! I did not know the clarification took out the azadiractin, and I would have never found that out! That's the entire reason I buy neem oil : )
You've helped me so much. My neighbors people in my lil village are so jealous of my garden. They think I'm a wizard of gardening. I just know the more love you show your garden the more love your garden will show you.
Thanks Gary, just ordered the neem from you. If anyone deserves my money, it’s you, I’ve learned so much over the last few months watching your videos and seeing the progress in your new garden! 👍😄🌺🌷🌱🌻🌳🌸
LOL thanks. And always test spray. Good luck. Please visit my seed shop www.therustedgarden.com for Neem Oil, Peppermint & Rosemary Oil for pest and disease management. Calcium Nitrate for Blossom End Rot and for Seeds and Seed Starting Supplies. Thanks so much!
I just wanted to say that you're awesome, sir. I tried a neem oil mix of yours (2014 video I think) and while I didn't get the beetles off my eggplants (my fault, I didn't spray regularly enough) this has more than made up for it by kicking my tomatoes' powdery mildew in the butt! I used Dr Bronners as my soap and have been using the same gallon for the last couple months but it's worked beautifully even without any baking soda. I'll definitely refine things next year but when I need more neem oil I'll definitely buy it from you in the future. Cheers!
Well I've been growing produce for a long time. I'm ashamed to say that I didn't know that. This may well be the reason why, I've not been impressed with neem oil. And I've used it . Very good information. Thank for posting this.
+Jeff Gibson Yep. I read hydrophobic extract when I first looked for Neem and I was like hmmm something is up. So I looked it up. Then I got annoyed at the prices for sprays so I bought it in bulk LOL. 100% cold pressed is the key. Good luck.
I went to buy my first neem oil last year after watching one of your videos. All they had was the extract stuff and I said " hey there's the crap Gary talks about!". I bought some dyna gro cold pressed online and it worked very well. I did have some trouble burning my tomatoes and peppers, but dialing back the amount of soap seemed to help. Thanks for the great info!
+Jeb Gardener Glad it worked. You are second person that mentioned Dyna burned. How did you mix it by chance and how much soap was used? Or is it a straight mix product with no soap that you add?
I started with 1 tsp 100 percent cold pressed neem oil and 1 tsp dawn dish detergent per quart of water. I test sprayed and had some burning so I dialed it down to 1 tsp neem oil 1/2 tsp soap and the results were much better. The soap is super concentrated or something like that so i probably could have used even less. The plant damage was just happening on tomatoes and peppers where the leaves curl up (and make a little puddle). We had a real hot summer so that may have cause some of it too.
First, thanks for the vijeos, very well done. Second, I have several of the same sprayers (Each bottle is designated a certain product(s)), but I paid 2 Canuckistan Copecs each. Gotta say, feelin pretty smug about that deal (only because you are much more advanced than me as of this post). Thanks again, Happy Spring!
It seems I have found by accident another deterance for the Neem oil with asadirachtin. I used a lot of it on plants this summer to fight off japanese beetles and it helped. In the process I would spill some a few drops on my kitchen counter and since doing that I have had no ants come in , none on my counter none on the floor. Whether its just a coincidence or not I usually am fighting ants all summer , but this summer they have not come in.
Hi Gary;We added fruit trees a few years ago. They will be 5 years old this year. I plan to start picking the fruit. But, I need to spray for bugs in order to get the fruit.Do you have any direction or information on taking care of fruit tress to take care of the bugs. Thanks, you have great info.Lin
The part about mixing in the tank and shelf life, probably hard to label as ..place bottle in warm water to turn it from a waxy product into an oil form. Did you read any other anticoagulant as an ingredient? Thanks
+Sabine RiverAuthority I didnt find any other information on the other 30% of the product. That one I think I read somewhere use orange oil too but cant recall.
Great Video Gary thanks! I just started some tomatoes & brussel sprouts in my sun room with sterile starting mix. But I have aphids and fungas gnats on some other mature plants in there. Can I use Neem Oil to prevent them from getting to my seedlings?
+Rick G Soapy water is pretty good on aphids. Neem will work on the fungus gnats. Sometimes you don't totally kill them off but you reduce them enough for the plants to mature and get outside. Always make your new mixes on the weaker side to and test spray before covering everything.
Gary-Great informative vid on the Neem oil "Garbage" that Ive been using for years, but no more ,,, have just ordered the 100% cold pressed, hope it makes a difference. How much of the cold pressed would you add to a gal. sprayer 1 tbls ?
Hi Gary, I live in Phoenix. My passion fruit is not doing good. It’s against a concrete wall but I truly don’t think it’s the heat. It’s more to do with the grubs in the soil. Will this Neem oil help? Otherwise can you recommend something that might

You scared me for a minute. I got mine from a soap shop on Amazon cause there aren't many brands in my country that sell neem oil. It is pure virgin oil cold pressed unrefined. It has the good stuff.
Hi Gary love your Videos..What I like about you is you explain things thoroughly I cannot get 100%cold pressed neem oil I wish you shipped to Canada lol Dana
+Erik Molenaar You know, I never had an odd taste. And I typically harvest around the spray. But I wash them. No issues. I am even comfortable with ingesting some neem from what I read and has been used 1000 years+ in India. Plenty of time for me to feel okay with it. LOL.
Oh yeah, I've used Theraneem toothpaste and mouthwash. In India they also make "pills" with neem leaves and coconut, and you take them everyday for immune support. I just wasn't sure if there was a taste.
I have had the worse luck using cold pressed neem oil. It burns my plants. Even though I spray in the late evening giving it overnight hours to dry, my plants still get burned the next day. How much pure neem oil to soap do you use in a gallon pump sprayer? I have been buying the water soluble version of Azadirachtin in the product called Azasol. It has the main ingredient at a 6% rate with no oil to burn your plants. It is very pricey.
+Patrick Pittman I have never had the oil harm it. Just curious what product you were using or the ratio. But like you said the Azasol will get the Azadirachtin to your plant with less risk. Good to know. In a gallon I use 1 -2 tablespoons of neem. The soap varies based on what you use. When I use Castille I need more when I use Dawn I need less. The key is to and it slowly after you add the oil. Swirl the mix. When to oil no longer floats after mixing it, stop adding soap. Over doing soap can burn.
I use Dyna-Gro 100% neem oil. I probably use too much soap. I switched over to using Dr. Bronner's Sal Suds Soap in the hopes that it would be less likely to cause burning, but perhaps I am still using too much.
I am definitely getting the cold pressed neem oil. Where do you get yours at? My veggies really suffered last spring/summer. I tried homemade remedies but they didn't work ;-(
Hi Gary, I was wondering if you can help me. I found pure essential neem oil, but i don’t know how much to use, or if it is safe to use. I assume it is stronger than normal oil. Do you have any advice? Thank you very much!
Love your videos! I thought I had gotten the good stuff last year but after reading the label turns out it was the GARBAGE! Arghhh! I also would like to have clarified if being 100% cold pressed means that the chemical Azadirachtin is automatically in there? Thanks!
Do you use a paper mask when applying neem? I usually do as a precaution since it's in a fine mist with those sprayers. I used Serenade for the first time last year after watching your video. Have you tried using is during planting as a preventitive against blights?
+what I dont wear a mask but you should. I will be doing more prevention wise this year. That means earlier spraying with seranade and another baking soda spray. I used that several years ago for prevention.
+kierstin drapeau I has to say somewhere 100% Cold Pressed Neem Oil. I would also want it to say Azadirachtin. But 100% cold pressed means nothing removed.
Wow!!! *I had no idea*! I was actual looking to learn how long mixed Neem Oil will stay good/effective in a pump sprayer. Now I know I have to go get the "good stuff" - so how long will that remain effective after it is diluted?
Yep get the good stuff and I don't let mine go more than a few days. If it stayed cool in the garage the mix would probably last longer but I mix it to what I would use in a day or two. Please visit The Rusted Garden Seed and Garden Shop: www.therustedgarden.com
Can I also use this Neem Oil on my hair and skin for medicinal purposes? What type of sprayer is good to use? I've researched Amazon months ago and could not come to a conclusion.
People do but I dont know how it is used. If we could get 3,000 people to donate $5, that would be perfect.... Thanks! If you would like to donate and help build the new greenhouse for a non-profit I am working with... Here is the donation link and a landing page: www.communityecologyinstitute.org/greenhouse-project.html Thanks so much!
Hi Gary. My Mexican Plum tree gets rust spots. It's very hot here in Texas. Some people says its okay to use Neem oil if you spray at nite. I'm afraid it will burn the leaves once the scorching sun comes out the next day. What are your thoughts on this? Great video by the way! 👍
thank you for the excellent video. I have bought your Neem Oil for several years. And it has proven to be very effective. How do I get to your store to buy more Neem Oil w.Azidiractin and the sprayers? I cannot find the your store.Thank you.
You probably could but I don't do it. I am cautious about over coating my leaves with two much at one time. I would make a mix and tests spray sections of leaves an wait 48 hours to look for damage. If good... spray away.
Use it in AM or evening when it gets into mid 80's or on cloudy days. 2 tablespoons per ounce. Depending on how much you chose to use 16-32 gallons. I found 1 tablespoon per gallon is plenty effective. Please visit The Rusted Garden Seed & Garden Shop: www.therustedgarden.com
Thanks for your professional and timely response! I will visit this site and make the purchase. Will this provide the fung and mite protection as well?
do not apply in direct sunlight. the oil will eventually absorb into the plants but if you spray it on with the sun hitting it soon it will burn the plants. i had that happen last year cause i was a dummy and not thinking. i would say in the evening after the sun is off the plants or on an overcast day as long as the sun will not be coming out soon. of course you can spray the underside of leaves and stay off the top where the sun hits it like i did this morning. i was starting to get aphids on a few of my potted peppers so i mixed up a quart bottle and sprayed the bottom of the leaves. now that the sun has left my garden for the day i need to go and apply it on the topside of the leaves.
what does this portect against?? does it Only portect against bugs that chew holes in leaves? does it portect against ants with apple or fruit trees or apple magets does it portect against any of that ? how often do you have to spray?? what all can it be used with like flowers garden plants fruit trees and berry trees extra
that sprayer- i had two of the quart sizes i used for several years. like a dummy i left one of them out overnight and a tree limb fell on it breaking it. well i still had another and even looked for another bottle that the top would fit on but it is an odd size and i could not find a bottle that it would fit. well this spring i got my one good bottle filled it and start pumping. wouldn't you know it there was a pin hole right at the top so now i have none. i can get the quart sprayers at dollar general here for four bucks so all is not lost. after the video you probably figured out why you could not spray upside down. the feed tube was uncovered so if you want to spray upside down you need a fuller bottle. great video btw and i love how you write out everything as well as explain it because we learn faster with visual aid.
paul k I recently purchased a Chapin 1 gallon Lawn and Garden sprayer. It has an adjustable wand with tubing to get under the leaves. Much, much better/easier than my 50oz sprayer similar to the one in the video. Best part is it was under $10 from one Amazon seller! Great deal, great sprayer! I highly recommend over the smaller pump sprayers. Best $9.95 I've ever spent!
What about Bonide Product 857 Pyrethrin Spray? Is it effective against insects or is it just as ineffective as the neem oil at the big box stores? the pyrethrin spray contains 1% Pyrethrins, 10 % Piperonyl Butoxide, and 89% other ingredients.
Thank you for the excellent work on explaining neem base the product. I will say the consumer Aimee products do make sense for profit and resale as the toxic photo aspect will ruin plant and carry over as residual. That’s if/when the average consumer uses. Garlic, boiled leaves from my neem tree, dawn soap, and a 7pm spraying. Sub👍🏿

+Stacia Henry I sell it off my blog. www.therustedgarden.blogspot.com. You can also search 100% cold pressed neem and you should find the product around.
Hi Gary. Just to clarify, as long as the neem oil is cold-pressed, it should have Azadirachtin in it even if it's not specifically stated so? I found a local seller of neem oil here and I believe theirs is cold-pressed, but since they're not a gardening shop, they may not be concerned about specifically stating there's Azadirachtin in it. Theirs is a raw materials shop, so they market it as good for eczema, fungal infections, etc. Also, if we have an actual neem tree, do you think soaking a good amount of neem leaves in water would work as a spray for this purpose as well? Thanks!
Well thanks so much.... I HATE ALL THE RIFT RAFT TRASH AND MISLEADING MISLABELED PRODUCTS OUT THERE....C'MON NOW....WHATTA JOKE😡😡😡😡😠😠 But seeing you explain it for people like me, makes me feel like I can put my best foot forward with confidence
That I dont know but you want 100% cold pressed neem for the benefit. That is what I sell Please Visit The Rusted Garden Seed & Garden Shop: www.therustedgarden.com/ - Seeds, Starting Supplies, Neem Oil, Peppermint & Other Oils, Calcium Nitrate & More
I didn't have any problem reusing my neem oil mix so it may depend on what soap you're using. I used Dr Bronner's peppermint so the scent may have covered up any foul smells but my solution still works fine.
if water spoils we all in trouble cause we been using the same water over and over since the earth began. i really do not see how it (the neem oil mixture) will go bad in a week or two. it may lose some of its potency if left out in direct sunlight long enough but i have no way of confirming that. i do know i mixed it up in a 1.25 gallon sprayer last year and used the same stuff until it was all gone which took a few weeks to use all of it and it was still effective.
Probably no. If it says hydrophobic extract on the bottle it has been removed. Please visit The Rusted Garden Seed & Garden Shop: www.therustedgarden.com
thanks gary, is overdosing on the dish soap more than the oil in a jar of water smaller than 1L can ruin the plant? I think i had overdone it and the next few days my pepper leaves are falling heavily. I dont know if its the reason or just coincident
I believe most 100% Neem Oil has around 1300-2400ppm of Azadirachtin. I've bought some that claimed 2400ppm, but I don't know how accurate/true that statement was. I've used different 100% Neem Oil products, and they all seem to work quite equally.
hydrophobic extract is garbage for sure. The Rusted Garden Vegetable Seeds & Home Garden Supplies: www.therustedgarden.com Earn 15% and become a TRG Affiliate for our seed & garden shop Sign Up Here: bit.ly/4aarkDD
I'd like to buy this from you since you got to me first Can you give me a direct link to your sale of a neem oil kit that will help me fight off both chewing insects and fungi for my super hot pepper plants? They are 2 months old and somehow even tho I am still growing them indoors, they are beginning to get chewed up. IDK what is causing it since I cant see any aphids or little black specs that suggest mites, but I have noticed gnats and little black jumping spiders in my cupped plants. Please help and I wil buy a kit from you I already checked your site out for the neem oil kits, but I am a new grower of these pepper plants and dont know which kit I should buy Thanks :-)
+purpguy69 I only sell it in the USA. You can find the stuff I sell on my blog. www.therustedgarden.blogspot.com You can also search 100% cold pressed neem oil for other places that sell it.
Thanks. Yes, I assume that if it's 100% cold pressed organic neem oil that it Must have azadarchtin in there. The ppms of the azadirachtin shouldn't matter too much at that point.
Dyna Gro Neem Oil is one of the longest running, most available, 100% cold pressed Neem Oil. More and more good 100% cold pressed Neem Oil out there! Your good with Dyna Gro!
Hello Gary, informative video. We are into manufacturing of 100% Cold Pressed Neem Oil. Would you be interested in looking at our product line. Thanks.
How many people realize that canola oil is actually neem oil with a made up new name (originally the Canada Oil Company now = Canola). Used to be used as an industrial lubricant on machinery, and probably still is. It even has it's own fancy website full of lies to trick the consumer. Neem oil is not toxic to humans, in fact it has many beneficial qualities, BUT it is not meant to be taken in the quantities folk take it in when they use it for cooking. I have never touched the stuff (Canola Oil) and never will. Not toxic in small doses is not the same as wallowing inside out in the shit.

Hi Gary, great videos. How do i kill and or prevent pepper maggots. Devastated my peppers this year. Thx
I haven't used powder in the ground. I hear it is effective as is drenching the soil with a mix like I talk about.
Sorry don't understand "powder in the ground" do you mean neem powder? By the way I use s.i.p. containers if that matters on how you treat the soil?
Always great information on neem oil
+High Desert Garden (Phillip) Thanks. It annoys me LOL when I find misleading packaging.

Hmm no that is new to me.
is triple action neem oil god for use? and also can you put a link to where to buy good neem oil from?
Hi Gary
I have some need oil but it say azadirachta seed oil is that the right one? I am in the uk don't know if that makes any difference.
I havent seen it worded that way but it sounds legit. Azadirachtin. Is the key ingredient.
So as far as spraying on leafy veggies, do you just rinse the leaves before eating? is there an aftertaste?
+Erik Molenaar You know, I never had an odd taste. And I typically harvest around the spray. But I wash them. No issues. I am even comfortable with ingesting some neem from what I read and has been used 1000 years+ in India. Plenty of time for me to feel okay with it. LOL.

I use Ivory often. Bronners is very good.
Yes in another vid I see where Dr Bronners is pushed , seems pricey for what it is., I will go with the dawn.
As always, very nice video. Thanks!
+Peniel Peniel Thanks for watching,
I had no idea I was using the wrong kind, so I just put in my order :)
+lorhayes7 Thanks. The azadiracthin is key.

I know that still annoys me and why I started selling it. Total mis-representation.
@@THERUSTEDGARDEN what is a baking soda spray?
What is a seranade and a baking soda spray?
Is it safe to assume that concentrate neem oil is not cold pressed?
+kierstin drapeau I has to say somewhere 100% Cold Pressed Neem Oil. I would also want it to say Azadirachtin. But 100% cold pressed means nothing removed.
+Gary Pilarchik (The Rusted Garden) ok thx again!
How was CailKim Beauty Charm Learning or Your Gift Giving Neem Oil?
Thanks!

Hi Gary. My Mexican Plum tree gets rust spots. It's very hot here in Texas. Some people says its okay to use Neem oil if you spray at nite. I'm afraid it will burn the leaves once the scorching sun comes out the next day. What are your thoughts on this? Great video by the way! 👍
Test an area and wait 48 to 72 hours. That is the best practice. And start with a lower amount of neem. Keep a journal from there.
Gary Pilarchik (The Rusted Garden) Thank you! I will try that. Have a happy 4th! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
thank you for the excellent video. I have bought your Neem Oil for several years. And it has proven to be very effective. How do I get to your store to buy more Neem Oil w.Azidiractin and the sprayers? I cannot find the your store.Thank you.
Can you mix baking soda and Neem oil together in water soap to make it both anti fungicide and insecticide?
You probably could but I don't do it. I am cautious about over coating my leaves with two much at one time. I would make a mix and tests spray sections of leaves an wait 48 hours to look for damage. If good... spray away.
thank you very much for replying Gary! the cool thing about you is that you try to respond to as many question and comments as you can.
How many gallons will the 8 oz supply make? Will this be safe to use in temps above 80 degrees?
Use it in AM or evening when it gets into mid 80's or on cloudy days. 2 tablespoons per ounce. Depending on how much you chose to use 16-32 gallons. I found 1 tablespoon per gallon is plenty effective. Please visit The Rusted Garden Seed & Garden Shop: www.therustedgarden.com
Thanks for your professional and timely response! I will visit this site and make the purchase. Will this provide the fung and mite protection as well?
Can I mix in diatomaceous earth in my neem oil and soap mix?
Victor Arbelaez I believe the diatomacious earth must stay dry to be effective. It's usually spread through "dusters" to the areas needed.
Gary, do you have to rinse the plants after you spray?
Nope. Always test spray to get the mix that works for you. But you don't have to rinse afterwards.
Thx
do not apply in direct sunlight. the oil will eventually absorb into the plants but if you spray it on with the sun hitting it soon it will burn the plants. i had that happen last year cause i was a dummy and not thinking.
i would say in the evening after the sun is off the plants or on an overcast day as long as the sun will not be coming out soon. of course you can spray the underside of leaves and stay off the top where the sun hits it like i did this morning. i was starting to get aphids on a few of my potted peppers so i mixed up a quart bottle and sprayed the bottom of the leaves. now that the sun has left my garden for the day i need to go and apply it on the topside of the leaves.
Very nice and informative video again. Thanks!
+Durango Hydroponics Youre welcome.
Is there a range? Why does it varies? New to Neem oil. collecting information before buying. Thanks
There is a range but I don't think it matters much as it just has to be cold pressed direct from the tree.
***Gary, will this work for other plants like Bougainvillea in particular??****
Hmm I don't know what that plant is. Sorry.
what does this portect against?? does it Only portect against bugs that chew holes in leaves? does it portect against ants with apple or fruit trees or apple magets does it portect against any of that ? how often do you have to spray?? what all can it be used with like flowers garden plants fruit trees and berry trees extra
thanks
that sprayer- i had two of the quart sizes i used for several years. like a dummy i left one of them out overnight and a tree limb fell on it breaking it. well i still had another and even looked for another bottle that the top would fit on but it is an odd size and i could not find a bottle that it would fit.
well this spring i got my one good bottle filled it and start pumping. wouldn't you know it there was a pin hole right at the top so now i have none. i can get the quart sprayers at dollar general here for four bucks so all is not lost.
after the video you probably figured out why you could not spray upside down. the feed tube was uncovered so if you want to spray upside down you need a fuller bottle.
great video btw and i love how you write out everything as well as explain it because we learn faster with visual aid.
paul k I recently purchased a Chapin 1 gallon Lawn and Garden sprayer.
Is it effective against insects or is it just as ineffective as the neem oil at the big box stores? the pyrethrin spray contains 1% Pyrethrins, 10 % Piperonyl Butoxide, and 89% other ingredients.
will this harm beneficial bugs?
+kierstin drapeau If you spray oil directly on any bug it can hurt. But the Azadirachtin has to be ingested. It wont harm bugs that land on it.
@@THERUSTEDGARDEN I am still afraid of harming the bees.
Sub👍🏿
Thanks for subbing and the info

How can I purchase neem oil from you... I have spider mites in my grow room and need to take care of them really soon
+Stacia Henry I sell it off my blog. www.therustedgarden.blogspot.com. You can also search 100% cold pressed neem and you should find the product around.
RIP lol
Good info!
Thanks!
That is right. The bad stuff says hydrophobic extract of Neem. Raw is right.
+Gary Pilarchik (The Rusted Garden) Thanks Gary!
Kissel Elizalde Most Neem oil is made from the crushed seeds, which are highest in Azadirachtin, compared to the leaves, etc..
"Which is the code name for...GARBAGE!!" Lmao love your videos Gary!
+CumberCookie_AD I liked that joke. LOL.
Me too!
Glad to know
Well thanks so much....
I HATE ALL THE RIFT RAFT TRASH AND MISLEADING MISLABELED PRODUCTS OUT THERE....C'MON NOW....WHATTA JOKE😡😡😡😡😠😠
But seeing you explain it for people like me, makes me feel like I can put my best foot forward with confidence
Glad to help. It is very confusing.

Thank you!
Great video. You really do sound perturbed here! LOL.
when you.make a batch and dont use all of it at that time can it be used later or do you have to make a new batch?
You need to prepare the solution as needed, otherwise it will spoil (water itself will spoil) and it will smell very bad.
Thank you for the information--
great info ...thanks
Yep.Please visit The Rusted Garden Seed and Garden Shop: www.therustedgarden.com
i only found a product which says neem oil emulsion. Is it the one with chemical azadirachtin?
Probably no. If it says hydrophobic extract on the bottle it has been removed. Please visit The Rusted Garden Seed & Garden Shop: www.therustedgarden.com
thanks gary, is overdosing on the dish soap more than the oil in a jar of water smaller than 1L can ruin the plant? I think i had overdone it and the next few days my pepper leaves are falling heavily. I dont know if its the reason or just coincident
what is the PPM of Azadirachtin of your neem oil
Hmm it varies. I would have to pull the paperwork. I buy it in 18 kilo pales.
I believe most 100% Neem Oil has around 1300-2400ppm of Azadirachtin. I've bought some that claimed 2400ppm, but I don't know how accurate/true that statement was. I've used different 100% Neem Oil products, and they all seem to work quite equally.
“Which is code… really for garbage.” 😂
hydrophobic extract is garbage for sure.

How do I buy from you?
+purpguy69 I only sell it in the USA. You can find the stuff I sell on my blog. www.therustedgarden.blogspot.com
You can also search 100% cold pressed neem oil for other places that sell it.
have u used einstein oil?
+Canna Chris Nope what is it?
+Gary Pilarchik (The Rusted Garden) it's a 100% organic cold pressed neem oil . Look up Einstein oil tell me what u think about it
what about Dyna-Grow 100% cold pressed organic neem oil?
As long as it is not an hydrophobic extract or basically nothing removed, that is fine.
Welcome to capitalism bro. Lol
