The Universe be listening to me "I was just thinking about this literally".I'm doing Spanish because it's Practical here in America. I Love French it has my heart . I'm from Louisiana French was my First Foreign Language in 4th grade. I Felt Like I was betraying French. I Do Love Different Cultures and Languages
@Zane Goebel - Everyday Indonesian Thank you for the advice :) I've almost mastered my third language, so I'm really optimistic about language learning
For me, I prefer at least having an interesting/strong base in the languages that I'm learning before starting with a new one. Otherwise idk, I feel like I'm going to mix everything lol, specially if they share the same family roots! Thank you, Eve. I love your videos!
My future goal is to be a polyglot but for now I want to be trilingual. If I keep my Spanish up and keep studying French I hope in a year and a half I can confidently say I’m one 😅😅
I’m 28 and just now starting Spanish because I’m in San Antonio and it’s practical to know it. I also want to learn French and German because I have a heritage in those countries and I’d just love to embrace that a little bit more and one day visit. I have extended family that can only speak French so I’d love to be able to communicate with them effectively. Wish me luck!
I've been on a path to learn a total of 3-4 languages, I'm a little less than fully halfway there but I've been trying to get this done quickly. I'd pace myself slower if I could
I can't help myself, but I strongly dislike people saying that they want to become a polyglot. As if it was the newest trend or something. Why not just learn languages and enjoy using them!? Never have I ever thought what learning multiple languages will turn me into. But when I am thinking about it, then my answer would never be a 'polyglot' but 'a better version of myself'.
Self doubt always gets in my way to be a polyglot. I mean, I'm bilingual and have studied three other languages to an intermediate level. But at what point can I call myself a polyglot? I gotta be more confident...sigh
You're right, self-confidence plays a lot into how you communicate in different languages. But that is something you develop over time. I have a video on the topic of fluency here: ua-cam.com/video/QF0Ryj3HDFQ/v-deo.html

I would love to become bilingual and even polyglot. I know others might be easier to learn but I’m still learning Arabic. It’s sooo hard lol.
