Near as I can tell 2023 and before, WNBA had around 500k fans that would follow their team, watch games and go to games regularly. They had another 1M or so casual fans that would tune in for an exciting game 5 of the finals or something like that. CC has near as I can tell about 1m fans that will follow everything she does, and 5-10M casual fans that will show up for big events such as all-star games, Olympics (if she was in), playoffs, etc. Reese I think has about 200-300k fans that follow everything, not sure how many casuals she has. Probably in the 600k-1M range Aja Wilson, all her fans are within the 500k WNBA fans I previously mentioned.

I’m watching the tremendous mismatch between USD and St. Louis. It’s unrelenting, the praise of F.U. Watkins. She misses a shot by a mile - “that’s so unusual for her.” She has several turnovers in just a few minutes, “She’ll settle down.” It’s truly disgusting that they schedule these games against non-contenders so they can do stat-padding, and then keep talking about bad play as if it’s just great.
As the game progresses, the USC players are all much taller than the St. Louis players. One of SLU’s starters is 5’4”, and USC has players that are 6’4”and 6’5”. Yet USC keeps missing easy shots, and the tiny SLU players are able to steal the ball. Watkins should be doing a lot better against a team of midgets.

There are great players, and then there are phenoms… Aja Wilson is a great player, Angel could…become great if she stopped being so full of herself, forgot about the CC rivalry, and focused solely on the game… Juju and Paige, will both be great…BUT Caitlin is a class by herself, bc she is a phenom… Her basketball IQ is off the charts, her personality draws people, she is a team builder - she builds up everyone around her, she is posed and mature beyond her years, and she has incredible skills both shooting the ball, and handling the ball… She’s a once in a generation type of player. (And I’m not a new fan, I played the game in my younger years, won many awards, and I have been watching men’s and women’s basketball for almost 58 years…) And while I could watch her play all day long - I’m not so awestruck by CC, nor am I blind to her faults, even a phenom can have some flaws… And yes, Caitlin has hers - she has a quick temper, but it comes from her passion, and in time, and with better coaching, hopefully she will learn to manage it better… (And maybe now she’ll also have a Coach who fights for her as well…) Sometimes she passes so quickly, the team cannot keep up with it, (thus the many turnovers) - she anticipates their next move, and they don’t get there quick enough… (That will change with time, and continued team practice - her teammates already were 10X better dealing with that after the Olympic break…) So it doesn’t matter what Juju thinks, she will eventually be drafted, and be an amazing player, as will Paige, and so many others - they will be great, but they will not be Caitlin… There will not be a “Caitlin” in every draft class, because those type of players only come around once in a generation…

I would not argue that Paige Bueckers has potential to do great things in the W. After watching two Trojans games recently, Ju Ju I'm not as convinced. She's a solid all around player, all around better than Angel Reese. Angel came in on the CC/AR hype wagon. Ju Ju won't be on any but her own wagon, so there won't be built in star power in the way there was with Angel. Unless Ju Ju really ups her flair and pzazz factor, star factor will be hard to achieve beyond the expectations phase.

And if this year, when she won her third MVP vote, nothing would have changed without Caitlin coming into the league. I’m watching the tremendous mismatch between USD and St. Louis. It’s unrelenting, the praise of F.U. Watkins. She misses a shot by a mile - “that’s so unusual for her.” She has several turnovers in just a few minutes, “She’ll settle down.” It’s truly disgusting that they schedule these games against non-contenders so they can do stat-padding, and then keep talking about bad play as if it’s just great.
As the game progresses, the USC players are all much taller than the St. Louis players. One of SLU’s starters is 5’4”, and USC has players that are 6’4”and 6’5”. Yet USC keeps missing easy shots, and the tiny SLU players are able to steal the ball. Watkins should be doing a lot better against a team of midgets.

There are great players, and then there are phenoms… Aja Wilson is a great player, Angel could…become great if she stopped being so full of herself, forgot about the CC rivalry, and focused solely on the game… Juju and Paige, will both be great…BUT Caitlin is a class by herself, bc she is a phenom… Her basketball IQ is off the charts, her personality draws people, she is a team builder - she builds up everyone around her, she is posed and mature beyond her years, and she has incredible skills both shooting the ball, and handling the ball… She’s a once in a generation type of player. (And I’m not a new fan, I played the game in my younger years, won many awards, and I have been watching men’s and women’s basketball for almost 58 years…) And while I could watch her play all day long - I’m not so awestruck by CC, nor am I blind to her faults, even a phenom can have some flaws… And yes, Caitlin has hers - she has a quick temper, but it comes from her passion, and in time, and with better coaching, hopefully she will learn to manage it better… (And maybe now she’ll also have a Coach who fights for her as well…) Sometimes she passes so quickly, the team cannot keep up with it, (thus the many turnovers) - she anticipates their next move, and they don’t get there quick enough… (That will change with time, and continued team practice - her teammates already were 10X better dealing with that after the Olympic break…) So it doesn’t matter what Juju thinks, she will eventually be drafted, and be an amazing player, as will Paige, and so many others - they will be great, but they will not be Caitlin… There will not be a “Caitlin” in every draft class, because those type of players only come around once in a generation…

I would not argue that Paige Bueckers has potential to do great things in the W. After watching two Trojans games recently, Ju Ju I'm not as convinced. She's a solid all around player, all around better than Angel Reese. Angel came in on the CC/AR hype wagon. Ju Ju won't be on any but her own wagon, so there won't be built in star power in the way there was with Angel. Unless Ju Ju really ups her flair and pzazz factor, star factor will be hard to achieve beyond the expectations phase.
