Hi, Dan! Great review--very informative and helpful. I know you are stepping back this year, so thank you for the content that you are able to provide. I am living vicariously through you.
Hi Dan good reveiw for me it is all about the price and at well over £500 they wont be going in my bag. As for the head cover white is allways going to get dirty. TM misssed a trick they should have made it the face colour dark blue.
Good, honest and thorough review, Dan, thanks, and good to see you back again. I recently bought a new driver, and never considered Taylor Made. Nice drivers but way too pricey for me. I do like a good head cover and use the one that comes with the purchase.
Great review Dan. As far as headcovers go, I never use the original. Currently using a drver cover from Formby GC, and for the 3wood I use an old one I got from my late mother to remind me of her when I play.
Great review. To piggyback on something mentioned earlier, it would be really informative to see someone with your consistency play around with the Max loft settings to see if you can get the ball spin down and ball speed up. And you certainly don't need a driver set up to be draw biased.
Good suggestion, in a recent vid Ian Fraser at Club Champion (formerly TGX) already tried customising the QI10 MAX by changing the weight at the back of the driver. Changing to a lighter weight will reduce the driver's head deflection which reduces launch angle and spin. However, changing to a lighter back weight will affect the swing weight of the driver and reduce the MoI measurement, which may adversely affect the club's performance and forgiveness
Nice review Dan. The new releases look mint but not looking for a driver this year but I am in with my pro on Tuesday to look at the QI and AI smoke irons.
Headcovers are taken off immediately and on goes the ones I have bought from favourite courses I have played, so to me its a non event when buying a club.
I don’t worry about the head cover, always replaced by Sunday Morning Show cover!. Enjoyed the review, but would have also been interested in the dispersion comparison…
Great review mate and taylormade drivers for me have always been hard to control, never been a fan of the shaping. Always plenty of distance but just hard to keep on the planet. Headcovers are take it or leave it as like many have said have my own that usually go on after purchase of new clubs. Cheers.
Definitely a solid range of clubs, totally agree about the Qi 10 which is only 8 thousand and something, the LS is lower still at 7 thousand and something. I'll definitely be going for a try before ya but, not sure if it'll be the Max or the standard, but I also want to compare them up against the Mizuno STX before I commit to a purchase.
Happy to use head covers if they protect the clubs. White is not a clever colour particularly if they are likely to be come grubby. I am looking at a new set of clubs as mine are 6/7 years old but will probably go for last years model as the price is better and performance differential is marginal. Agnostic about the make- just want that works well as is reliable.
Excellent review...the main issue for me (5 handicap) is how much these "new" drivers cost. Its simply hard to justify spending $650-$700 on a new driver. Get Up Dan
Nice review dan. They do look better than the stealth model which is a plus. The yardage difference between them 3 is quite big, all depends on dispersion is suppose so shows how important custom fitting is.
Head covers are just billboards for the manufacturer. W these big drivers and huge headcovers I can barely fit my bag through the car door! I take them off and only use them when I take clubs on a plane
I do like a nice OEM head cover especially if it’s not hard to get on and off, no I’m not planning on looking for a different driver and I knew something is up because your shoes have been blurred out the last couple of vlogs, thought maybe it was a embargo thing but now I’m thinking maybe a big change, hopefully it’s more favorable for you because I miss lots of vlogs from you a week but I understand
I’ve had the SIM 2 max driver for a while and it’s the best I’ve owned. I can’t imagine the latest range will offer me anything other than to weaken my bank balance!
White headcovers are a no for me. I’ve got a mavrik and ditched the headcover for a callaway sock one knowing it would look dirty in 6 months. One accident and a trip in the mud and a white headcover is wrecked. I’ve hit the standard granted with a shaft that wasn’t right for me but it felt really solid which surprised me.
Great review Dan. I am a TM fan boy using the Sim and Irons, but tbh i dont like any of the new drivers. Its all too gimicky for me. Yeah the blue face will appeal to more people but the Red was more individual. The build quality issue was an issue but only if you bought 2nd Hand unless off Golfbidder who gives a 12 month guarantee. Buy new and it has a 3 year warranty. The mainly white headcover isnt TM finest hour, Black would have been a better option.
Totally agree with the naming. It’s a strong word but with the whole marketing being behind 10K it’s a bit naughty to make people think all 4 hit that threshold. Get that LS under control though Dan and Titleist will have to do something special for you to stick with. LS 10K versions next all round! I personally think they’ll need to get the RRP down by £100 though, it’s got a bit out of control again like when the Biggest Big Bertha came out (showing my age), with a 25% rise between launches.
Good review Dan - not sure they are for me as the profile just looks too big! As for headcovers, I use the one that comes with the club & care for it so that when I sell the club it still looks good!
Great video Dan, i have already tested the QI10 but still struggle with the feel from the carbon face, or should i say lack of feel from it. I have just put the new Mizuno ST-G 230 driver in the bag and I'm getting great numbers from it, did i spot it as one of the drivers you were testing on last weeks Sunday Show. 🤔
Great review Dan like always with all these companies producing these “new drivers”I don’t really think there’s any advantage for the average golfer. If you someone who just loves buying new tech then cool. To be honest I’ve never really got on with the new twist face drivers, which is why I changed and went too titleist 2 years ago. The TSR2 driver has to be the best driver I’ve hit even on miss hits,so that would certainly take some beating. I did get fitted for the taylormade sim2 but that was all over the place and when I said I wasn’t happy with it all they did was change the head so that did put me off them,so much so I completely changed companies. I will say I do love the look of it especially the blue face (my favourite colour) lol
I prefer a headcover that is easy to get on and off over looks. I have a TSi2 driver and I find that headcover a bit tricky (that might be the pear shaped head though), although I think it looks great
Ls looks great for you Dan. Can you play in blogs or bound to Titleist? I like the looks. Ie the name and logo will appeal to the Asain market. Was in Japanese golf shop last month and that look will fit in well. 👍
I don’t drive the ball well by any means but I find the stealth2+ hugely unforgiving! I would be very interested to see the difference between mine and the new line up.
Dan my golf club pro struggles to sell TM product he has now got rid and put titleist in ..he told me the TM product doesn't sell at my club 🤷 it's ping Callaway etc
Nice club, headcovers...I usually buy second hand, but expect a matching headcover..the amount of times they give you a smashed up one, or not even the band you are buying is infuriating!!!
Only use the head cover provided normally bought a new ping hybrid recently and hate the cover it’s far to small for the club especially if it gets slightly damp so normally take it off on 1 st tee and keep it in me bag be better off with a Pom Pom cover your nan made we play with a guy who has big head covers on most his clubs we call him the florist as his bag looks like a bunch of flowers 😂
Two things for me. First a larger driver head is all well and good but at some point you need a 3,5 or 7 wood and the drop in size can impact confidence. I'm happier having a smaller driver head and becoming proficient with that rather than have that big size drop to my 3 wood. Then it's about how much length they give me over my existing clubs. I am playing four 10 year old Yonex 1-7 woods, know my distances & gapping. The new Taylor Made gave my 8 yards further on the driver. Is the cost worth it for 8 yards or is a monthly hour with my course pro worth more. Sorry TM I won't be buying. Re your reviews, you're a competent pro, let's get a mid handicapper out there with you and see what they gain. You play a very different game to me so let's get someone more 'average' producing some figures.
Dodgy marketing on behalf of taylormade on these drivers , headcover is quality and how far down the shaft for me Interested to see against the ping 10,000 and the ai smoke in a head to head especially in a mid to high handicap player
I don’t care about head covers as I use my fluffy Daphne vampire bat covers and have done for years ,as for the new drivers they look a bit bargain basement design ,or something that came out 10 years ago .Trouble with Taylor made is that they bring new drivers out every 12 months which puts people off ,a two year cycle would be better considering the ridiculous price of clubs and especially drivers these days .
I thought the review was fine. It does break it up having a few iron shots in. I’m just not sold on them, I think the reputation of faces breaking puts me off (they may have fixed that in this generation, but id want to be sure).
No company should ever design a white headcover for the very reason you showed in the vlog Plus most golfers take the headcover off and toss it onto the ground before teeing off
Nice Dan...sorry but twist face is not measuranble also this 10k nonsense is impossible to measure the avg golfer doesn't strike the middle of the face we will never see the tech they all talk off utter nonsesne we aren't robots ...as always get fitted then you may see gains as the correct shaft is paramount
Dan. I’m sorry. I like your reviews (a lot) but when I tune in to watch your review of a driver I have absolutely no interest in you padding the video with segments of you hitting an iron or a fairway wood. Just the club in review please. Apart from that. Great review. Thank you.

Really good review, especially when you take into account almost everyone on YT is doing reviews of the new stuff. Cheers.
Love a good headcover. Currently rocking a Taylormade US Open driver cover and Masters fairway
Great review. To piggyback on something mentioned earlier, it would be really informative to see someone with your consistency play around with the Max loft settings to see if you can get the ball spin down and ball speed up. And you certainly don't need a driver set up to be draw biased.

Tend to take the corporate h/c off and replace with generic headcovers. Less obvious while the bag is unattended.
Tested drivers a few days ago, Qi10 was out performing everything I tried. Got one on order.
I don’t worry about the head cover, always replaced by Sunday Morning Show cover!. Enjoyed the review, but would have also been interested in the dispersion comparison…

great review Dan, Now that you mention it Qi10, Qi, and QiLS would have made more sense, I was fit into the LS and it will replace my TSR2
I use my old RBZ headcover. Sock style so it stays on and is more discreet. Also plain black putter cover. Lo-pro is the way. 😎
Happy to use head covers if they protect the clubs. White is not a clever colour particularly if they are likely to be come grubby. Completely agree, for most the cost is 😳
I never use the headcovers that come with them i use my own headcovers i like them to have a sock to look after them
Nice review dan. They do look better than the stealth model which is a plus. The yardage difference between them 3 is quite big, all depends on dispersion is suppose so shows how important custom fitting is.
Nice looking clubs, I prefer to the stealth. However, I think the new G430 has managed to give forgiveness and low spin - surely the holy grail?
Head covers are just billboards for the manufacturer. W these big drivers and huge headcovers I can barely fit my bag through the car door! I take them off and only use them when I take clubs on a plane
Headcovers used to be great when you bought the Taylormade TP version and got the nice magnetic full length one :) Those were the days
Very good review! Headcovers for me is more how they matching the rest of the equipment. If it not look good the headcover goes out.😉
I do like a nice OEM head cover especially if it’s not hard to get on and off, no I’m not planning on looking for a different driver and I knew something is up because your shoes have been blurred out the last couple of vlogs, thought maybe it was a embargo thing but now I’m thinking maybe a big change, hopefully it’s more favorable for you because I miss lots of vlogs from you a week but I understand
I’ve had the SIM 2 max driver for a while and it’s the best I’ve owned. I can’t imagine the latest range will offer me anything other than to weaken my bank balance!
Surprising to learn that Rory used two drivers.. Headcovers are nice to have . I buy different ones if I need to.
Great video Dan. Only head over that matter are the ones that mean something to the person. And you won’t see those put on the ground
White headcovers are a no for me. I’ve got a mavrik and ditched the headcover for a callaway sock one knowing it would look dirty in 6 months. Don’t mind getting my head over dirty. It a unavoidable in winter golf. Great review Dan

the standard and ls versions look good though not considering any change this year - next winter assuming £ allows I plan on changing up the bag
Bring back knitted headcovers with a pom-pom Dan 👍

Great reviews Dan, as for headcovers?...theres only one to use...lol...if you know you know...lol

Quote Harvey Penick "The trees are full of long hitters"
I said the exact same thing on my review dan, the name can be a massive mislead to those not understanding that not all heads aren't 10k in MOI 🤷🏻♂️
Yeah poor by TM
For the most part, I just want a headcover that goes on and off easily, too easy for us old guys to pull a muscle!
What loft did you have in the max, couldn’t you reduce the loft a couple of degrees to combat the left bias, and reduce the spin
They sent me the 10.5 and I brought it right down 👍
Only use the head cover provided normally bought a new ping hybrid recently and hate the cover it’s far to small for the club especially if it gets slightly damp so normally take it off on 1 st tee and keep it in me bag be better off with a Pom Pom cover your nan made we play with a guy who has big head covers on most his clubs we call him the florist as his bag looks like a bunch of flowers 😂

Headcovers are VERY important, which is why my driver is protected by one from "The Sunday Show." 🤣
👌😉
Head covers don’t mean much. Put my Roseandfire Candy Skull head cover on it.
Current driver SIM 2 unless I wake up 10 mph faster in the morning I am not sure I would benefit from a new driver.
Not a fan of Taylor Made and 2 buddies went through 3 Stealth Plus drivers each with face and internal rattles. I'll stick to Titleist or Ping....
There seems to be a few ‘favourable’ TaylorMade equipment videos recently… is there something you’re not telling us? 🤔
Are you sure that’s not the RBZ that you gained 17 yards?

If I have the standard qi in the upright position. Do you still get the graphics on the shaft on show 🫤
Yes, another poor design imo
