The greatest competition ever to occur in the history of this Ummah was that of 'Umar b. al-Khattab (ra) with Abu Bakr (ra), though this competition was not a battle of strength, skill or the mind, but rather a race towards Paradise for the one who can fill his scales with greater deeds!
At the battle of Tabuk the Prophet (SAW) encouraged the Sahabah (raa) to give whatever they can in the cause of Allah.
'Umar b. al-Khattab (ra) reported the incident in first person: The Messenger of Allah (SAW) ordered us to give charity and at the time I possessed some wealth. I said to myself, "If there is a day I can do better than Abu Bakr, then this is the one."
So I went with half of my wealth to the Messenger of Allah and he asked, “What have you left for your family?”
I said, "The same amount." (i.e. half)
Then Abu Bakr came with everything he had. The Prophet (SAW) asked, “O Abu Bakr, what have you left for your family?”
Abu Bakr (ra) replied, "Allah and His Messenger!"
Umar b. al-Khattab (ra) reflecting on this said, "By Allah, I will never do better than Abu Bakr."

It's 6 years old lecture but now there are quite a few Hindu temples in UAE, The Prophet pbuh eradicated idolatry in Arab but the Modern Arabs brought it back by allowing the Indian hindus to build their temples and idols, the shaikh of Dubai even inaugurated the biggest temple in Dubai
The hindus build the temples so that they can pray, Are they citizens? no they are not. Are they are taxed? no tax but they do all other community welfare, Please dont think in Ultra orthodox way. Episode 87 - 93 Notes: Part 1
The Battle of Tabuk
The Siege of Taif was the last battle between the Prophet SAW and the Arab Polytheists. The Prophet SAW had effectively conquered the Hijaz region and only the small fortress of Taif was left standing. However, Taif would eventually accept Islam later in 9 AH. This thus only left the North of Arabia as a potential threat to the Muslims.
- Background
There are many theories as to why this battle took place amongst Muslim historians. The most logical theory is that, this was a direct command from Allah SWT to test the believers and they had to follow it. Participation in this battle was made Fardh upon every able bodied Muslim man. The Prophet SAW even sent out emissaries to all the tribes, in order to request they send all of their men for the expedition. Unlike previous battles, this battles location was made public to everyone.
The Prophet SAW then began gathering funds from the Muslims in order to fund the expedition to Tabuk. Uthman Ibn Affan RA provided the majority of the funds. Abu Bakr RA provided every bit of wealth that he had to fund this expedition and Umar RA gave half of everything he had. Abdul Rahman Ibn Awf RA also donated a lot and so did many of the other Sahabah RA.
Whilst the Prophet SAW was collecting funds, the Munafiqs donated nothing and even mocked the Muslims for donating. The Munafiqs also gave excuses as to why they couldn’t participate in the battle. The Prophet SAW did not question their excuses. This led to Allah SWT revealing via the Qur’an that, the Munafiqs are liars and would face a severe punishment.
Eventually the Prophet SAW managed to obtain all the funds he needed to finance this expedition. Majority of the Muslims participated in this battle except those who had a legitimate excuse and the Munafiqs. However, there was another group of Muslims who were too poor to fund the expedition or participate and they cried when they realised they cannot come along. Allah SWT reference these Muslims in the Qur’an and promises them good nevertheless.
The Sahabah were given 10 days to prepare for the battle and the army size for this battle was 20,000, which is the largest the Prophet SAW had ever led. Muhammad Ibn Maslamah RA was left in charge of Medina and Ali RA was left behind also. The Munafiqun mocked Ali RA for being left behind. But the Prophet SAW reassured Ali RA that, he wants him to stay behind to protect his family.
The army departed from Medina in July of 9 AH and when they got to Thaniya Tul Wada, the Prophet SAW rearranged the army and the assigned leaders to the battalions. On the journey to Tabuk, the Muslim ran out of food supplies and the Muslims begun rationing one date amongst several people. Some Muslims even sacrificed their camels in order to take the water from the camel. It took 1 month for the Muslims to travel to Tabuk.
- Abu Dharr Al Ghifari RA
Abu Dharr RA was one of the earliest Sahabah RA to convert in the Makkah. Abu Dharr RA was initially unable to attend the Expedition to Tabuk because he did not have his camel. But this did not stop him from going. After the Prophet SAW had left with the army. Abu Dharr RA put his travel gear that was meant for his camel, on his own back and walked through the desert for days. Eventually he reached the Muslim army caravan. The Sahabah RA were shocked to see him alone in the desert walking. The Prophet SAW at this time prophesied that, Abu Dharr RA would live alone, die alone and be resurrected alone.
This prophecy came to pass in the Khilafah of Ali RA, when Abu Dharr RA was living in the wilderness with his wife and old servant. Abu Dharr RA at the time of his death was so poor that, he did not even a covering for his burial. The reason for this was because he would not save his finances and had a very minimalistic lifestyle. Prior to Abu Dharr RA’s death, he told his wife to wait on the side of the highway and that some people would come and bury him. When his wife questioned this, he told her that the Prophet SAW had prophesised this and that he had not been lied too.
After Abu Dharr RA passed away, his wife and old servant waited by the nearby highway with his body. Eventually a caravan came and Abu Dharr RA’s wife asked them to help her bury him. On this caravan was Ibn Masud RA and upon realizing the dead person was Abu Dharr RA, he cried realizing the prophecy of the Prophet SAW had been fulfilled. Ibn Masud RA and many others helped bury Abu Dharr RA in the dessert.
- Arrival at Tabuk
Tabuk refers to the name of a spring in the location where the Muslims camped. The reason this battle is named after the spring is because the Prophet SAW performed a miracle there. The Muslims had ran out of water and were on the verge of death by dehydration when they arrived at the spring of Tabuk. The Prophet SAW washed his face and hands in it which caused the water from the spring to increase drastically to the extent, that it allowed an army of 20,000 to drink from it. Once the Muslims camped at Tabuk, they stayed there for 20 days but the Romans and Arab Ghassanids did not come to fight them.
During the course of the 20 days, numerous events occurred:
The Prophet SAW gave a sermon whilst he was there and then restated that the Muslims will conquer Rome and Persia. The Prophet SAW also sent out expeditions to nearby Northern Arab Tribes. Many of these tribes upon seeing 20,000 Muslims in Tabuk decided to switch allegiance from Rome to Medina which included paying Jizya.

Please note: I HIGHLY recommend that you all watch YQ’s Seerah series, as I DON’T cover every single detail the Sheikh mentions. I made these notes primarily for myself but, decided my fellow brothers and sisters may benefit from them too. I no doubt will have made mistakes in my notes. All the good in these notes is from Allah SWT and all the mistakes are from myself. But, I was very meticulous and tried my best to make sure everything is accurate as the Sheikh mentions it.
You also will see I have added “Fun Trivia facts” under each of my notes. These FTFs are information YQ said that was off topic or not necessary to include in my notes for the episode. But, they were still worth mentioning hence the inclusion as FTFs. FTFs aren’t always HAPPY pieces of information. Sometimes they are very sad trivia. I just want to say that FTF is the phrase I used for them all collectively when making the notes.
One thing I wanted to do but am too lazy to do is, maybe someone could take the FTFs from under each “Episode” and make an Islamic reminder/information IG/TikTok account and post them daily or something. Could be a great form of Sadaqah Jaariyah.

Prophet Muhammad (SA) wiped out idolatry from the Arabs yet in today’s times we have UAE and other Arab countries who allow Hindus to build temples and worship idols
idolatory is opened for particular community. but they cant be citizens in that country. but Most worst is prostitution, their is not a night where Dubai is decorated with Haram, there is not a day where alcohol is not consumed. Certainly they are answerable.
To be fair, the edges of the peninsula don't count for most opinions of where non Muslims are not allowed hence the Yemeni Jews.

did the prophet (saw) ever use vulgar language or rude words? I am asking as Muadh (ra) didnt mention what the prophet (saw) said to the 2 men who drank the water so assumed the words may have not been appropriate to repeat. I was the the impression the prophet (saw) never were used foul or abusive words
You should not be asking these questions and Rasoolullah Sallaho Alaihi Wasallam had the best of manners, so No, he didn't abuse but it must have been something harsh and Muadh RA didn't see it fit and necessary at the same time to be told the Ummah as not revealing this would not deprive the ummah from right path. While people who have zaigh in their heart, this might develop unnecessary doubts and people who hate Rasoolullah will twist it and use it against him to astray people and deprive them from the right path of Quran and Sunnah. Rasoolullah Sallaho Alaihi wasallam was not an angel, he was a human being, sallaho Alaihi wasallam.
I'll give you the example of the accusation on Ummul Momineen Aisha raziAllaho anha. Nobody in history of Islam has ever spoken about the actual accusation and why is that? First it is out of respect to Aisha raziAllaho anha and second, the purpose of the Hadith is completely delivered without having to mention the details of the accusation. So when something is not revealed to you, don't read in to it.
Also note that Islam teachings are to hide everything and anything of this nature, happened in the past or happened in front of you as they are a way of spreading fahsh, it doesn't matter if it's true or false.
