The recall part you talked about is so true. I didn’t realize that when first learning algs. Would just do it for 5 minutes than I could do it without looking and thought that I was done. But then it would come up during a solve and I would have no idea what to do. Make sure you stop and then practice (5 min later ) again. The recall is very important.
Happened to me first time i was learning
Same bro
I think it's the same for all that because of the brain putting the algorithm in parts but after a while they will come together slowly but withouts noticing it
Ovidiu Lomanariu must be because of your muscle memory
This happened to me so many times!!!

I've been working on re-leaning PLL and learning OLL. This video is really helpful
It’s been 3 yrs have you learnt them?

These tips have been very useful, but I find personally that the more important aspect to preforming an algorithm during a solve is muscle memory. As I am doing an algorithm in a solve I'm not thinking about the specific moves I'm doing. As soon as I recognize the case my fingers just go, I think the most useful part of the trainer is teaching how to recognize cases faster. Great video as always.
The algorithm trainer is spectacularly feature-rich! Thanks so much for making it!~
I'm trying to learn pll and the website is helping me a lot, even tho I mostly use it to read the algorithms and kinda "memorize" them instead of using the trainer 😅
Thanks! I used to sub your channel years ago when you already had the most helpful YT cubing videos. Now you've made the learning website that was always missing from this world. You're a true legend man!
have been struggling to learn full oll, love the algorithm trainer
Your videos always seem to suit me at the stage that I'm at
Yay
I am a beginner cuber. So I want to learn many algorithms. In this video I can learn it from a website. Thanks for your great work 🔥 Keep it up... 😊💓
Really helpful! Thanks JPerm!
Never knew you had a website it seems so helpful so I’ll start using it
I just started using your trainer program for oll, it's pretty awesome. One thing I do is only look at the cube when the timer starts, because it's less realistic if you use inspection time for oll, it seems like it would be good for trying to quickly recall the algorithm.
That sounds like a good idea but I have like 1m 30s pb so idk
Probably higher on second thought
Me: *wants to learn how to memorize algorirhms*
Jperm: I got you homie.
This is helping me memorize Ortega algs, especially y perm. Thanks
This memory and brain-training advice is absolutely true. This is very, very good advice, especially regarding the recall portion. Don't underestimate the value of this video.
When learning a new Alg I revisit it for about one week before I consider it memorised. If I stuff it during a solve following the week, I revisit it each day for another week. Often this means having a handful of algs that are in this state of learning. My biggest issue is having a new alg messing with my memory of an existing alg...
Also if you learn different groups of moves, like sxy move or sledge hammer, it is easier to learn an algorithm that involves something you already know 👌

@@sahithi5360 yeah thats not really impresive anyway she could learn after like 2 weeks of youtube videos
Omg I am so happy you made this video I stopped cubing ages ago and this makes me want to start wanting to learn full cfop
The website you talked about helped me so much thank you!
This really helps me out. This is really pretty accurate. Solving OLLs since there are 57 cases are very difficult, but since I knew atleast 5 algorithms, I can easily figure out other cases by using 2-looks, mirrored-case and reversing algorithms. I have done this also in A perm that's why my time decreased (from around 40s-50s to 20s-30s). For me, reversing algorithms are one of the best technique I made since the turnings are the only thing I need to practice. Another technique I use is exploring the cube itself. Starting from a solved cube, I'm gonna make a moves that will remove an F2L block from its place and then will re-enter it to its place without reversing the moves I've done already. It really opened me up in more other cases. Thank you for this. These infromations will be recalled ;D
Hey, could you add an option for last layer + last f2l slot scrambles? It's probably a better way to practice oll.
Yeah same here
it is already one month since iam cubing and now iam struggling with some 2look PLL algs. thanks for your videos man! :) always found them helpful
Those tips are so helpful! I can relate with the examples of recall.
U dont make money from the website...
It is such a good, helpful website, you should get paid for it.
If u made a app on android I would buy it 100%
One way he make money from this is when you go to speedcubeshop and buy a cube with the code Jperm. Then you'll get a discount and J Perm will get some money off the purchase
There is a donation feature at the bottom of the page in the trainer.
@@qupufu other way is to buy the jperm rs3m 2020 it gives 5 dollars per cube
I was finding for that like a minute ago and you post this I was happy
Here is the video that I was looking for!
Thanks J Perm!
BRO
That PLL algorithm was the exact algorithm i was trying to remember!!! This made it alot easier
Honestly, I kinda waited for this vid beacause I can't really memorize G perms and certain Oll algs, thanks
Make sure you learn the algorithms with the most efficient fingertricks, it will save a lot of time in the long run as you won't need to learn them later down the line when you are fast enough that having good fingertricks is key.
what really helped me learn the g perms is watching the white pieces (if you do white cross), and also how i remember which algorithm goes with which is
(and this only applies if you use the algorithms that j-perm uses)
- if the bar is on the front or back, you start with r2
-if the bar is on the side, you start by taking out an f2l pair.
if the bar is on the side but closer to you, you take out the pair closer to you
if the bar is on the side but farther from you, you take out the back pair
0:59 sexy move 😂
Thank you so much for making J perm algorithm trainer, it helped me a lot
Started learning CLL 2days ago and this is the perfect video for me.
NOTES & TIMESTAMPS for me
Intro
0:00 not trained speed solving vs after few days
0:08 Learning Algorithms (or anything) = Information + Recall
0:14 Information: algorithm in head
0:19 Recall: retrieving algorithm quickly
0:24 INFORMATION: how to memorize algorithms
0:25 with Patterns: example: R U R' U R U2 R' : R moves go up, down, up, down, and U moves go U U U2. The condensed algorithm is R U R' U R U2 R'
0:43 with Visual: example F R U' R' U' R U R' F' R U R' U' R' F R F', visualize the pair
- (F R U' R'): insert pair
- U'
- (R U R'): put pair back
- F'
- (R U R'): pair out
- U' (R' F R F'): put pair with sledgehammer
- The condensed algorithm is: (F R U' R') U' (R U R') F' (R U R') U' (R' F R F')
1:06 with Fingers: example R U R' F' R U R' U' R' F R2 U' R'
- (R U R' F'): sexy move but F' at end
- (R U R' U'): sexy move
- (R' F R2 U' R'): down, right hand, up, left hand, R'
1:33 muscle memory: when algorithm in your brain, if slower turn -> harder muscle memory
1:39 RECALL
1:41 no recall vs recall:
- no recall: choppy execution
- recall: all really smooth
1:57 PRACTICE
- practice/keep doing -> really well
- even really confident: if come back later -> difficult
You realize there’s chapters right?
Hey, J perm nice video, really helped a lot. The part about the practicing and breaking for a while really helped me to improve about 0.5 -1 secs on average!! I was struggling with V and A perms and now I can do them almost perfectly in my solves! Thanks a lot
Btw, I am planning to make cubing videos and I want to use the same wooden table for filming as I think it looks very nice and engaging. Could I get your permission to use the wooden table as well? I am doing this to be safe.
I Luv your videos and God Bless!
Of course you can use a wooden table background....
Thanks. I am learning oll now and this will probably help
Thanks. I was knowing about the first trick apparently but others helped me more👍👍
What I did to associate the visual with the algorithm was to flick through my algorithmic pages and select an random algorithm while covering the moves
I have a problem, after a lot of solves I tend to forget the algorithms as sets of letters, but I just remember them by muscle memory and if I slow down I notice that it is hard for me to remember the next move without messing up, so I always have to go very fast and if for some reasons the cube lockups stopping me during an algorithm execution sometimes I don't know how to go ahead anymore 😭. I really admire you, because you're both able to keep remembering the written algorithms and just the moves
you can buy a better cube or lube your current cube. this also happened with me but when i bought a new cube and got used to it it eventually made me better
Try also learning the algorithms mentally as well as just in muscle memory. This is a classic lesson from music. For example, you could try visualizing each algorithm before executing it. Just doing this a few times will help a lot.
I have the same problem
Thank you J Perm i was getting stuck on the same part so i tried the sexy move and got it solved
I just got it and the corner cutting is pretty good and its smooth.
I dont even need to watch this but for some reason i have to watch every one of ur vids or else i wont be satisfied
I started cubing a month ago and get an average of 49 seconds
Is that good or bad?
Keep practicing
You'll eventually get better👍
R Bose that is great
That's amazing
Don't worry, its great for one month.
Brilliant
Im learning two look oll right now and about 30 seconds in to the video i started understanding the alg im planning on going to a comp that my brother is organizing and i want to learn beginner CFOP before then so thank you
Amazing resource. I have bought a cube of yours as a thank you.
I been cubing for seven months and I find that when I use cfop I get sub 30 but when I use roux I get subs 22. Is that a bad or good thing?
It is a great thing... Roux and CFOP are both great methods, if you’re better with Roux, then try on improving only that
Good
Ive been cubing for 7 month same and im sub 40 on roux and sub 15 on cfop
keko gallery
I’ve been cubing for 4 months and I have failed learning Roux so now my motivation is rouxined...
You want to get better at CFOP practice that only.

I got my first corner flip today. I felt so proud :) Looks like I can do at least *some* algs somewhat fast. But learning them takes me so much time. First to learn the moves, then to learn the finger tricks, then to do it fast. And then sometimes it doesn't suit me, so I try a different alg. I've even come up with a few of my own. I'm surprised that's still possible considering how many algs are listed for everything.
Thank you very much, I was about to learn more the J perm
learn algs and forget them again in 2-3 days
WHAT'S HAPPENING !!!
Not enough practice my guy, learn an alg and then wait a day and test yourself again and do that til you can just do the alg when it comes up
@@thewhatwhat12333 I had hard time learning pll,oll and coll buddy.
I still forget some of my 2×2 cll algs.
What I do: I learn an algorithm, see if I can come up with something to make it easier, like the two W oll cases for example, I saw that you take out the right (or left pair) then push it away, then turn the R (or L) layer up then take the pair and nearly insert it, but not put the pair back from where it belongs, turn the R (or L) layer down, and insert the pair with a sledgehammer. It help me a lot. And if I can't find it, then I just memorize the moves and make it a muscle memory.

Because of ur website.I can easily learn oll n pll algs now...thank you very much..:)
This made me get almost 5to 8 secs jperm!!!thanks for the help!
This remined me of when I had to use musical instruments. After a while you will remember it without looking because it is in your muscle memory and even tho some parts might not be engraved as much it will still be remembered
Woah! Thanks for helping a lot! I got under 40 seconds with ur website! Thanks!
its more easier just to watch jperm's tutorials then just learning all the algs, he gives such simple solutions!!

@J Perm I thank you so so much. Today i know full cfop
I needed this thank you!
As someone just learing oll thanks this was very helpful
I learned through visuals. I keep track on what the bottom layer moves or what the pattern of the top layer looks like after a certain set of moves.
was watching this video for tips, ended up memorizing the Y alg just from watching it! amazing teaching!!!!
