- In this video we're taking a look at how to bypass iCloud and jailbreak your iPhone using the latest Checkra1n exploit on Linux of course - Kali Linux, which is based on Debian, to be precise! ;)
This works on devices with iOS 12.3 and up from iPhone 5s to iPhone X.
You will need a mac to bypass the activation lock.

I like some of the transitions, but sometimes they're a bit too much and are seemingly random. Since we use these persistent elements that transition across pages to indicate some kind of relationship between the previous and the next states, some of your transitions confuse me because I can't immediately see what the relationship is.
For example 1:23 of the selectable tiles (which weren't selected) transition into being two switches... does that mean anything? are they related in some way? I see this as random and a bad use of the design language. However, at 3:14 I like the transition from switches to the ticks on a paper, that makes sense to me. Epic presentation

Why not mention that you need a mac in the video title?
This no longer works on the latest kali as the software uses libncurses5 and kali uses 6 with 5 not installable. Until they fix this then have to use an older release of kali

Yes indeed. It works for iPhone 5s - iPhone X, iOS 12.3 and up.

Is that right after putting device in DFU mode?
Make sure you are running as root (sudo checkra1n) and make sure cable is good; even then, you might have to exploit more than once.
Between exploit attempts I would recommend exiting from checkra1n and running it again as root.
Also might be worth a try to do a hard reset on the iPhone (hold home button+power for few seconds) to clear things up.

To sum it up, it seems to be an issue with A7 chip devices.
Some suggestions that worked for people on the thread:
1) Using checkra1n version 0.9.7 instead of the latest (no Linux tho)
2) In Linux version, run the following command as root to open checkra1n: ./checkra1n -c -v -V
3) Restoring device before doing jailbreak

Yes, wine not needed. Just install checkra1n and run it.

I don't think it works for iPhone XS right now given it uses a different chip the A12.
From what I know the exploit works on chips A5 to A11.
You should follow the checkra1n twitter tho as they've been active lately!

Michael Rosa the least you can do is update to the latest ios by going into restore mode. After that try checkra1n again.

Yes, you can hold both home + power button then once screen goes black keep holding just the home button. It will put device in recovery mode. Now when you plug it in iTunes you can do a restore to bring it up to latest version.
Then try checkra1n again if iOS is compatible.
