I was in the Canadian Forces serving in the UN in the Middle East and have visited Israel many times over several years.....I saw and met many of these soldiers.....(some on the beaches of the Red Sea.....wearing their Israeli "equivalent" of the Brazilian "flossa" (dental-floss) thong-bikini).......a group with whom no one dares criticize either their combat skills or their determination to defend their homeland or....themselves......!
I ran across this on the xbox youtube app. I fell in love with the song. I had no idea at that time it was the Israel National Anthem! Great vid. God Bless the IDF and Israel!

Its somehow tragic: After World War II, North/West/Central/South Europa became an area of peace for now about 70 years, the german army is now one of the smallest in the western world (in relation to number of inhabitants and economic power) but the jews (and israeli-arabs) have still to fight for their lifes after they founded again their homeland Israel. Its a very sad story !

I'm from Israel and we aren't actually 'forced', and actually most people dont actually 'fight' in the army, you can be a nurse, in a band, a cook.. and almost everyone i know wants to go to the army and everyone thats been says it was a a really fun and life changing expirience..
