  • UK Car Leasing Hacks : Shop the DEAL not the CAR. In this one we look at how to lease a car and avoid the UK's biggest car leasing mistake with these simple car leasing tips. Buy me a Coffee at : ko-fi.com/nota...
    I have mentioned this in so many viewer comments and in a few videos but the basic principal is this - shop for the car leasing deal, don't shop for the specific car.
    By opening up your search you may find that your budget can get you a far better car than the one you ideally had in mind. In this video we look at some real-world examples of how having an open mind can get you into a much better value for money car with a similar budget.
    I have "shopped the deal" for many years now and have had some brilliant cars by doing this that there's no way I could have otherwise afforded.
    Car Leasing works really well when you put the work in, examine all the deals, and keep a nice open mind. You want an Audi A4 but did you realise that a much higher spec A6 is only a few pounds per month more? Can you really get a BMW 7 series for less than a 5 series with the same engine?? no way? yes way! Hopefully this video helps you to get car leasing explained, you get the best deals if you truly understand this simple way of looking for your next car - this is a car lease hack you should not ignore.
    This simple car leasing hack may seem like common sense but it amazes me how many people overlook it as they have their mindset on a very specific car and specification which often costs them dearly. Do your research before you lease a car or enter into any car finance arrangement. Make leasing a car work for you.

    Got my current Hyundai Tucson through leasing this way and I have a Cupra Leon 300bhp by looking out for the best deal with no car in mind.

    I did this. Couldn't afford a 4 year old car so casually looked at leasing deals and ended up with a Peugeot 408 GT for £320/month zero down for 3 years at 10K miles a year. It's literally just the interest payment on the list price. I never thought I could afford a brand new car especially such a high spec model.

    Did the same with a Skoda Kodiaq 1.5 2wd with the options was coming in at £523 pm.
    Specced out a top end Seat Tarracco 2.0 4wd with everything on it £100pm cheaper!!!

    I'm still extremely thank full for your advice as I've got an amazing deal with a skoda scala highest spec (still waiting for the car since July!!! ) however I knew that is a 16 week waiting deal but due the chip shortage crisis in sure will be another 2-3 months waiting but still is a good deAl nevertheless, plus I really enjoy your down to earth videos.next door guy, I can't imagine why on earth people would make drop nasty comments. Kudos Jim

      @@DefinitelyNotAGuru It's OK Jim, all it needs to do is warm up about 15c :) While I am here, do any leasing companies do a pre-paid lease? My UK credit is very thin.

    • @DefinitelyNotAGuru
      @DefinitelyNotAGuru  2 роки тому

      @@petenicholls9451 Hahaha, fat chance of that until about March mate :) Pre-paying a lease is not usually an option as the monthly payment a way of the lease company tracking you. You could probably do a deal with a 12 month deposit and just have a small monthly payment i.e. reducing your perceived risk to the finance company??? or maybe a car subscription would be a better op[tion until your credit rating sorts itself out (although it can be a pricey way of doing things).

      Just be as flexible as possible, even consider a different can if the price is right, vans are still in pretty short supply so deals can be a little thin on the ground so being ultra flexible will help you grab a bargain👍

      Click on the weblink that’s in the video description and pinned as the top comment. Find the deal you want, make an enquiry. The broker will call you.

    with lease deals, why do you have to make an upfront payment ?

    • @DefinitelyNotAGuru
      @DefinitelyNotAGuru  2 роки тому

      You don’t, but a deposit on any kind of finance deal is the norm isn’t it? Just go to lease loco and you’ll deals that have nothing upfront or just a broker fee upfront.

    • @DefinitelyNotAGuru
      @DefinitelyNotAGuru  Рік тому +1

      If you return it before the MOT date then no. Service in line with manufacturer recommendations or perhaps just pay the fine for not doing it depending on what they charge.

    Thinking to order cupra Leon 2.0 tsi VZ2 DSG deal I’ve found on leaseloco it’s 9 month down £2,467 then £248 35 months decent deal I reckon. I can trade in the Leon 2018 1.8 I brought last year for 14k when I paid 12k. Invest the lump sum offsets the expense of the lease further seems to make sense to me when I’ve just done used cars previously outright.

    What scares me about lease deals is I use my car to go to the tip with all sorts, occasionally off to Europe, don't wash it until the number plate is unrecognisable; so end up with scratches and dents more than expected - this could cost me loads at the end? - luv the vids

    Thanks, great info.
    I paid cash for my eNiro and sold it 18 months later, cost me just over £225/ month.
    Yes I know most people do not have the cash, and we are in unusual times, with all used cars going up and EVs in demand.
    I may be old school, but the finance companies have to take a bite out of the cherry.
    Thanks for the video, we have to take the best advantage we can, and your advice is excellent.
