As a South Korean citizen residing in my homeland, I am deeply concerned about the existential challenges posed by the growing influence of extreme pro-China and pro-North Korea factions. These entities are systematically undermining the nation’s democratic foundations by inciting public unrest and orchestrating efforts to impeach a president who has steadfastly sought to uphold the principles of liberty and the rule of law. Their calculated seizure of mainstream media and broadcasting institutions has allowed them to propagate misinformation, obfuscate their underlying motives, and legitimize actions that run counter to the nation’s interests. Tragically, a considerable segment of the populace remains ensnared by their sophistry, unaware of the broader implications for our sovereignty and democratic integrity.
@bubshab Marshall law is the president's right. He followed every step legally. We, as citizens of Korea, approve President Yoon's action. The opposition party is the one doing treason by trying to paralyze the cabinet officials. Opposition party is doing so to protect their leader Lee, Jae-myung who is under many criminal investigation for years now.
Let me add some more as South Korean. This divide is more complex than it appears. President Yoon's supporters include ordinary citizens who believe in free democracy, while much of the opposition consists of powerful labor unions closely tied to the opposition party. Many of us feel we’re fighting to preserve democracy and support President Yoon's efforts to address corruption and restore power to the people. The leader of the opposition party is currently facing numerous legal charges and is expected to be sentenced soon. Meanwhile, left-leaning groups are working relentlessly to undermine the president. Those waving South Korean flags and carrying signs red Stop The Steal represent the side of supporters of President Yoon, advocate for a strong alliance with the U.S. and other free nations.
Bruh, I swear some of these commentators say this like they represent most of the population, but the truth is that this kind of opinion is only shared accross the radical right..
Well said!!! She has made bigoted statement, and we’re not falling for that anymore. Because we saw that with our own eyes. We felt it on our very own skins.
As an American I can tell you we are not a free country right now. We are an oligarchy. All three branches of government are owned by big corporations, millionaires and billionaires. I don’t think you know what you are getting yourself into.

Freedom is not free. Korean conservatives and progressives are a little different from those in the United States. Korean progressives are friendly to North Korea, China, and Russia and pursue socialism, while conservatives are friendly to the United States and Japan and pursue liberal democracy and a free market economy. Also, some people may wonder why conservatives are waving the American flag. They are usually older people who experienced the Korean War in their childhood. They remember that Korean and American soldiers fought together and believe that the current Republic of Korea was created by Korea and the United States together. Voting must be fair and transparent. In the last few elections, things have happened that can't help but be suspicious. However, the organization in charge of the election was unable to provide an accurate and definitive answer. What can the members of the National Assembly established as a result do if the country and government are in chaos? I think the President gave the best answer he could. This is the reality in Korea now. It prevents us from asking questions about things that we cannot understand through common sense. The president declared martial law BECAUSE there have been numerous circumstantial evidence of rigging/fraud in voting of parliament seats currently controlled by the opposing party(ironically the opposing party's name is 'Democtatic party'. The opposing party is pro communism(favorable to N Korea/China). Recently the head of labor union in S Korea was convicted with communicating with N Korea and carrying out their instructions, but the opposing party has been against strengthening the spy arrest/prosecution law in S Korea. The martial law was to swoop the voting fraud and save S Korea from the communist control. Sadly the media and young people agreeing the impeachment controlled by communist money and populism don't show or see the context. Pro impeachment protests were found to have lots of Chinese nationalities who couldn't even speak Korean.Ultimately it's ideology fight against communism. Even they speak and act against God without hesitation. These are words and actions that should not be done. Please pray that the free Republic of Korea can stand upright. Thank you.
Sure buddy, as if Korea ever had any conservative or progressive for the matter. The conservatives are nothing but poket worrying opportuinists that tried to turn the country into dictatorship, and the so call progressives are literally centrists with no real progressive policies.

Based on my observations, this is not the case. They are merely using this excuse to cover up their own incompetence. In fact, China has been South Korea's largest trading partner for a long time. South Korea's anti-China sentiment is a continuation of World War II, with complex and intertwined forces behind it. If you're interested, you can chat with GPT-it's quite fascinating!

The American flag symbolizes freedom, a value deeply cherished and shared by both the United States and the Republic of Korea. This emblem of liberty resonates profoundly with the ideals of the Free Republic of Korea, emphasizing the "FREE" in its name and reflecting the nation's commitment to democratic principles. The alliance between the United States and South Korea is more than just a strategic partnership; it is a powerful affirmation of their mutual dedication to freedom. This connection is celebrated and reinforced through the symbolism of the American flag, which serves not only as a reminder of the shared aspirations and values but also as a beacon of hope and resilience in the face of challenges. By proudly associating with the American flag, South Korea underscores its alignment with freedom and democracy, strengthening the bond with its American ally and highlighting their common pursuit of liberty and justice.

DW News has crossed a line by dubbing Korean interviewees with an Indian English accent, completely misrepresenting their voices. This choice is not only inaccurate but offensive, ignoring the distinct differences between Indian and Korean accents in English. As a Korean user, I find this deeply insulting. We do not sound like Indians, and such misrepresentation perpetuates harmful stereotypes. This is one of the most blatantly racist and unprofessional decisions I’ve seen from DW News, and it demands accountability.
There's actually a law in South Korea that one can request court to re-examine whether the arrest warrant was legal or not and if it's found to be illegal, then dismissal of arrest warrant will be granted. //Some prosecutors and people who used to be judges and now retired say it was illegal and against the law in South Korea to issue an arrest warrant for the President of South Korea. in fact, team of lawyers already working on this matter, a counter punch so to speak. // Huh-Young, a very renowned, famous Korean scholar of constitution in South Korea public comment, "~ it's not even a matter of impeachment based on legal standards we have in South Korea. " //◆Facts : 1. Nobody can enter the Presidential residence since it's a place with #1 top secret classified military and other information. It's like a top secret classified military facility. This is the same in any country aroun the world. It's illegal to enter the presidential residence even if you have a search warrant or arrest warrant BEFORE the president is actually impeached. However, what already happened was, they actually marched into the presidential residence without any proper legal process and it's BEFORE the president is impeached. Totally wrong and illegal 100%. // 2. Bodyguards of the president can legally fire a gun to anyone who enters the presidential residence and they have legal rights to do so and it'll be considered as a legal defense. Even if law enforcement officers try to intrude or tresspass the Presidential residence in South Korea, they can be shot dead by president's bodyguards and it's 100% legal to do so. That's the law. ==> Now, who committed illegal crimes in South Korea? The president? Or the ones who pushed into the presidential residence Before an actual impeachment taking place?

PLEASE PRAY FOR SOUTH KOREA! South Korea is currently at a pivotal moment in its political history, grappling with influences that threaten its democratic framework. The country, officially known as the Republic of Korea, stands in stark contrast to its northern counterpart, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, or North Korea. Despite these names, the political ideologies in both countries are markedly different, with North Korea following Juche, a form of Korean nationalism and self-reliance mixed with totalitarian rule, and South Korea practicing a form of democracy. However, the term 'democracy' itself has become a point of contention within South Korea. The Democratic Party, one of the major political entities in the country, has been criticized for policies that seemingly align more with communist ideologies than democratic ones. This irony is not lost on the populace, especially given the historical context and current geopolitical tensions involving neighboring China's communist regime. The situation escalated during the tenure of President Moon Jae-in, who was accused of harboring Juche sympathies and whose election was marred by allegations of fraud. Since then, concerns have grown that communist influences have permeated various aspects of South Korean society. In response to these critical issues, the current president felt compelled to declare martial law, signaling the severity of the crisis to the nation. Amidst this backdrop, a significant political awakening is unfolding across South Korea. Citizens of all ages are taking to the streets in support of their president, whose approval rating exceeds 52%. Despite this, the mainstream media, which often echoes the perspective of the opposition party, fails to adequately report the scale of public support. The underreporting of these large, vocal demonstrations highlights a profound disconnect between the narratives portrayed in the media and the reality on the ground. This growing divide is more than just a media bias; it represents a critical moment of change where the citizens themselves are becoming increasingly engaged and vocal, advocating for their views and shaping the nation's political future. The movement signifies not only a challenge to the prevailing media narratives but also a robust defense of democratic values in the face of rising authoritarian influences. This dynamic struggle underscores the complexity of maintaining a true democracy in a region fraught with ideological conflicts.

President Yoon himself came to national prominence by leading the prosecution of former president Park Geun-hye.”

We will safeguard this legacy to the very end.
the woman interviewee who supports Yoon is not just a supporter. She’s almost a politician who supports Yoon. She’s quite notorious for her far right activities.
South Korea is at war between liberal democracy and socialism, and is in a state of civil war with the rule of law under threat. There are two groups in South Korea. There is a national group that seeks to protect liberal democracy and a cartel that seeks to change the country into a socialist country. The Taegeukgi and the Stars and Stripes are on the group of liberal citizens who seek to protect the president and liberal democracy. The reason for the Stars and Stripes is that the United States is an ally that supported South Korea's liberal democracy when it was in trouble, and it symbolizes the non-violent, spontaneous resistance of the protesters. On the other hand, the Stars and Stripes are not on the cartel of subversive forces that seek to impeach the president and immediately change the country to socialism. This is because the subversive forces oppose the United States, say that we should submit to China, and insist on the withdrawal of US troops from South Korea. They believe that South Korea can be changed into a socialist country only if the United States is gone. Many Chinese people are mobilized to South Korea and participate in violent events without knowing the reason. It is also suspected that North Korean agents have infiltrated South Korea and are promoting social chaos. In addition, Lee Jae-myung, the leader of the Democratic Party who is trying to use this confusion to become president, has illegally provided 8 million dollars to North Korea in violation of sanctions against North Korea, and is attacking President Yoon in order to hide this fact and become president and pardon himself. However, in Korea, there are dozens of times more liberal citizens' groups who want to protect President Yoon Seok-yeol and liberal democracy than those in collusion with China and North Korea. While protecting liberal democracy, the Republic of Korea has a different nature from China, North Korea, and Russia. The President of Korea declared martial law and informed the people and the world that the rigged election was serious. The people of Korea realized the truth about martial law and quickly supported the president. So they are trying to protect the president. On the other hand, the cartel that shares the profits from the rigged election is so extensive that they are trying to oust the president and maintain their own power and interests. The cartel is extensive, including the National Assembly, the press, the courts, the Constitutional Court, the police, the military, and labor unions. The cartel is illegally impeaching the president and systematically cooperating to arrest the incumbent president. In addition, the National Assembly is drastically cutting the 2025 national budget and has already impeached numerous ministers without reason, turning the country into a state of anarchy. In addition, China and North Korea are seriously intervening. China, Russia, and North Korea are allies working together to spread communism around the world. Their operations are extremely persistent. The Korean media also joins the cartel and reports lies instead of the truth. So the President of the Republic of Korea declared martial law to inform all citizens of the seriousness of the fraudulent election and the forces of subversion, and peacefully lifted martial law at the request of the National Assembly. There was no suppression or damage to the citizens under martial law. Evidence of the fraudulent election was secured in a short period of time. Therefore, the people of the Republic of Korea are trying to protect the president and condemn the fraudulent election. The Republic of Korea and the President are protected by the people of the Republic of Korea. The police and military leaders were also recruited by the cartel, so they did not protect the head of state, and impeached the president as a seditionist without evidence. The upright police and military officers were branded as sedition sympathizers and expelled, and the cartel is controlling the country. The Republic of Korea is in dire straits. We must protect the president, the last remaining bastion. The Chinese and North Koreans should not intervene in the Republic of Korea. STOP THE STEAL. CHINA OUT. NK OUT.
Regarding the Current Situation in Korea: The current situation in Korea extends beyond support or opposition to President Yoon. It revolves around the Democratic Party, which is aligned with pro-communist interests, including those of North Korea and China. Leveraging its parliamentary majority, the party is pushing Korea towards communism and socialism, which has not only threatened national security but also paralyzed the government. To counter espionage from North Korea and China and protect democracy, martial law was declared. About the Democratic Party: The Democratic Party promotes policies that align with pro-communist interests of North Korea and China. Jae Myung Lee, the party leader, has publicly stated, "We must strive to ensure that the efforts of North Korea's leaders, Kim Jong-il and Kim Il-sung, are not disparaged." He also mentioned that his older brother considered him a spy. Lee is under investigation for allegedly transferring funds to North Korea; however, his party is repeatedly attempting to impeach all the prosecutors involved. Key members of the party’s primary support base, the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions (민주노총), have been convicted of pledging allegiance to North Korea and working under its directives to destabilize South Korea and fuel anti-U.S. sentiment, as well as opposition to President Yoon's administration. During their governance, the Democratic Party removed the counterintelligence powers of the National Intelligence Service (Korea’s equivalent to the U.S. CIA), effectively hindering the arrest of North Korean spies. They passed legislation favoring North Korean and Chinese operatives and used their parliamentary majority to undermine President Yoon’s administration. This included slashing his policy funding to ZERO and initiating an unprecedented 29 impeachment attempts against his officials over 2.5 years. These were aimed to cripple the government through continuous, unfounded legal challenges, far exceeding the 13 impeachment attempts across the FOUR previous administrations COMBINED. Regarding the Arrest Warrant Against President Yoon: The arrest warrant for President Yoon was unlawfully sought by the CIO (공수처), which has no legal authority to investigate the charges presented, and was unlawfully issued by the Seoul Western District Court. Dominated by leftist judges, the court has blatantly disregarded key legal protections meant to shield the president’s residence from searches. Certain judges and officials, aligned with the Democratic Party, are seen as attempting to undermine President Yoon without proper legal proceedings, potentially facilitating a power return for the pro-communist Democratic Party leader Jae Myung Lee. The core issue at stake is whether Korea will preserve its free democratic principles or succumb to communist influences from North Korea and China.
He's not evading arrest since the warrent is not legitimate and constitutional. Your Korean correspondant Moon is slightly biased; it's not 'unconditional' support of Yoon, the supporters have a point (listen to their point of view, the intelligent ones at least). On a lighter note it's hilarious that Koreans are dubbed with an Indian English accent though!
Korea has historically been influenced by China due to its geopolitical location. today In Korea, the left-right conflict is a conflict between the pro-China forces on the left and the pro-American forces on the right. The left has been growing its power through political correctness, In the April 2024 general election, it manipulated the proportional representation system and became the majority party in the National Assembly. When it became the majority party in the National Assembly, it has impeached right-wing President Yoon Seok-yeol 26 times to stop his power. The targets of impeachment were indiscriminate and Yoon Seok-yeol's direct administrative staff, including the ministers, the Prosecutor General, and the Board of Audit and Inspection. in Korea. On the left, labor unions are the main force and dominate the mainstream media, teachers' organizations, and police organizations. Right-wing citizens have become angry about this situation and are actively participating in anti-leftist demonstrations on the streets. The main forces in the ongoing street demonstrations are anti-China, anti-North Korea, pro-US stagnation forces. They are ordinary citizens who are not organized, like labor unions.
There is something called constitution. The ones who tried to arrest the president is not prosecutors. They are from the anti-corruption department who has no legal authority to investigate criminal cases. The issuance of arrest warrant and search warrant are considered illegal. The judge who issued the warrants wrote on the warrant to "ignore Article 110 and Article 111 of the criminal law." The judge is only supposed to either approve or decline a warrant. No one including judges can stand above the law in Korea. The anti-corruption department and the judge from the Western Seoul District Court are a part of Jeollado cartel. If you don't know anything about anything, please consider shutting up for a minute.

Umm....Anthony Blinken is visiting S. Korea I think this week. Two conservative party members in SK are invited to Trump inauguration but no one from the democrat side are invited. What does that tell you? Put down PS3 for change and do some research.
Korea is geographically close to China, Russia, and North Korea. The current political turmoil revolves around which country they should maintain alliances with. Those who wave US flags identify themselves as supporters of strengthening alliances with the US and Japan. Others prefer to maintain good relations with China and North Korea, even if it means straining ties with the US and Japan.
This is the biggest question: why did he impose martial law? It has been a month, yet he still hasn’t given an official answer. He remains hidden in the presidential residence, refusing to appear in public, which has thrown South Korea into chaos. This alone proves that he is a cowardly and selfish person. Is someone like this truly fit to be president? South Korean news has reported terrifying details behind this martial law, and multiple military personnel involved have confessed. It’s truly fascinating. Meanwhile, the ruling party continues to manipulate the situation, worsening the crisis. It’s been quite an eye-opening experience.

The alliance between the United States and South Korea is more than just a strategic partnership; it is a powerful affirmation of their mutual dedication to freedom.

CHINA OUT.
NK OUT.
Regarding the Current Situation in Korea:
The current situation in Korea extends beyond support or opposition to President Yoon.
About the Democratic Party:
The Democratic Party promotes policies that align with pro-communist interests of North Korea and China.
Regarding the Arrest Warrant Against President Yoon:
The arrest warrant for President Yoon was unlawfully sought by the CIO (공수처), which has no legal authority to investigate the charges presented, and was unlawfully issued by the Seoul Western District Court.

This is like getting Rachel Maddox to discuss Trump. Korean journalists and reporters appearing on foreign media are left - right orientated too.
The cause and foundation of the problem is italy and France Paris,Rome,Napolitano,Napoli,America, Rome,Taranto,Torino,Sardegna;,
I did not know arrest warrants are optional 😂.
Police! Come out with your hands up!
Me: hmm.. no thanks, I don't wanna.
Martial Law supporters from Gyeongsang Do(Chun Du Hwan's homeland) strongly support and protect president Yoon now.
Like South Korea, Germany is a US Military base with zero sovereignty or independence.
Actually Germany, South Korea, and other American allies are all sovereign nations that have the right to govern however they see fit.
This reporter is excellent.
He tried to steal a country and the authorities can't even get past some mall cops ?
Misguided constitutional rules??? Can you elaborate on that??????
I heard the full statement of the chief of PSS, there was no bigotry. No signs of “unconditional loyalty”. His loyalty is to the president whoever it is which party he was in. That’s what he said. You intended to leave that out or you missed it??? I think she is bigoted. We’re not falling for that anymore.
Reporting is so superficial it's fit for kindergarten age viewers. Just mumble the word democracy enough times and everything's supposed to be meaningful.
Save p.yoon
Why they couldnt choose good one?
Because I can understand Hanja 한자, so I tuned into comments about this in China. The first one caused me to laugh so hard that I coughed all my lunch out. The Chinese phrase used to describe Yoon's situation is: 秦王繞柱。
Jtbc 와 mbc등의 언론으로는 현재의 한국 상황을 파악하기에는 편향되어있어 불가능합니다.
People are supporting Yoon because of the Democratic Party's legislative overreach. They hold a majority in the National Assembly and have arbitrarily passed bills to serve their own interests. I am disappointed that no one is reporting on what they have done.
Trump's deafening silence is a loud and clear sign that yoon's days are numbered
Umm....Anthony Blinken is visiting S. Korea I think this week. Two conservative party members in SK are invited to Trump inauguration but no one from the democrat side are invited.
What does that tell you? Put down PS3 for change and do some research.
🇺🇸 explain everything
Dude what a mess. Stop. Jailing. Your. Opposition.
Your point is absolutely wrong. What we wanted to send jail is criminal, not the opposition.
God touchdown
탄핵 천성 집회에 중국인이 많아요
If South Korea needs a new president, they can have Trump. Musk may come also since they are joined at the hip.
Your world is about to change forever.
Approval rate of the President Youn hasbeen surpassed 40%.
Take a guess who control korea army during war time? 🤣🤣🤣🇮🇱🇺🇲
The US flags are everywhere in the protest.
What do you think?
Foreign assets
Korea is geographically close to China, Russia, and North Korea. The current political turmoil revolves around which country they should maintain alliances with. Those who wave US flags identify themselves as supporters of strengthening alliances with the US and Japan. Others prefer to maintain good relations with China and North Korea, even if it means straining ties with the US and Japan.
@레인-q4q
Obviously, it's Russia interference. LOL.
What are Chinese doing at the pro-impeachement protests? LOL
@sociolocomtsac
Chinese?
Sit, relax and laugh. I guess.
or yeah, it's Chinese interference too. LOL.
this is now getting comical
Why did he call martial law?
He should cough up evidence for the people to see and accept his fate one way or the other.
Power of samsung they took down a govt
Samsung? Well... Samsung's Chairman JY LEE was jailed by the previous president MOON who had communist leanings.
Nonsense. China and North Korea's infiltration into S. Korean politicians and elections is the reason.
Lmao it snowed so you cant be arrested
DON T LYE
You are red commy properganda
YSY must be charged for high treason 🤬
I don't think so. The president declared martial law for a justified reason. Those who interfered in the election should be punished.
