Harbaugh is not choosing the Chargers over MIchigan. If he does this, he is choosing the NFL over the NCAA. That makes sense. He just went through a great season with Michigan, but a terrible season with the NCAA.

If Jim’s calling is the NFL, full blessing, Michigan Man Elite status. My concern is he takes Minter or other pieces that would “leave us to the wolves” we need defensive continuity for at least one more year while this entire new offense finds its way. We need a top 5-10 D this season to be competitive imo.
I love Coach Moore as HC, but Minter is just as important for at least this season as Moore. Throw a stack at him, one more year (who wouldn’t want to coach Grant, Mason, Will) then go do you Coach Minter. 😀

Honestly if Michigan gets an NIL thang going I could see him stay, but Michigan is really handcuffed without some type of program to pay the kids. NIL, Portal, and a 12 team playoff all happening in the last 2-3 years was poorly planned out by the NCAA. It’s overwhelming just trying to wrap your head around it all of w no restrictions other than what the coaches can and cannot do. I think Moore is ready to handle the job, I’m more worried about Michigan being in limbo recruiting wise, typically a top 5-10 program we’ve been like 15-20 the last 2-3 years

If he ends up getting a contract with the Chargers, he either thinks the Spanos spawn are letting him have more control of operations or they're lying to him. But if you want to have a HOF career with no SB wins, just watch out they still may fire you if you win 14 games in a regular season.

Like many Michigan fans, you are delusional. Harbaugh knows he is going to get hammered by the NCAA, and he knows the UofM cannot insulate him from that.
In 2010 USC head coach Pete Carroll left USC shortly before NCAA sanctions were announced. Sanctions for the school included a two-year postseason ban, three years of scholarship losses, and vacating games (including a BCS Championship game). Reggie Bush returned his Heisman Trophy.
Carroll returned to the NFL after spending nine years (2001-09) as head coach at USC, winning seven consecutive Pac-10 titles (2002-08) and two national championships (2003-04). The Trojan's record under Carroll was 97-19 with the team reaching a bowl in each of his nine seasons while winning seven. In the ensuing fourteen seasons, USC has won one PAC-12 championship and no national titles.
The bottom line is that in fourteen seasons USC football has not recovered from their 2010 NCAA sanctions.
Michigan's transgressions far exceed USC's. They impacted the integrity of the game. If Moore is named coach, he will be left with a shell of the 2023 team and "hurricane headwinds."
I hope you are happy with that national championship. It is going to be a long, long time before you see another.

What is being conveniently overlooked here is that in the background the University of Michigan is being investigated for major violations. Harbaugh knows this and also knows if he moves on to the NFL he will get a 'get out of jail free card' and avoid the hassle and consequences. I would not be surprise if Michigan is stripped of its national title when it is all said and done. So, Harbaugh leaving is calculated to avoid the fallout . .

It is, once again, yet another slow news day for college football fans. Every year we get stories about Harbaugh leaving for an NFL job. Every year Harbaugh takes his NFL offers back to Ann Arbor and lets his bosses know how much moolah it is going to cost them to keep their head football coach. Maybe the stories are being spread by rivals and their fans to hurt Michigan's recruiting efforts, and picked up by media desparate for something, anything, to serve as a story. But how many times are we going to be subjected to another "this time, Charlie Brown is going to kick that football' story?
