I was at this concert when the band came on there was a seven minute standing ovation before a note was struck….spine tingling moments like that define the Blue Nile Scotland’s finest ever band by the proverbial mile…god bless The Blue Nile….
How can a band be THIS good?!!! Mind-blowing. The soundtrack to everything that has been good in my life since I was a teenager in Glasgow in the 80s. I love the Blue Nile. Very jealous of all you folk who were there for this.
I actually just discovered this group recently. Whoops. But I'm hooked. Love the tight sound, great voice, tender music. I always discover great music way, way late lol.
This concert and the The Blue Nile are and were the musical highlight of my life. I have loved them from the moment in 1984 I head this on a cassette directly from the Linn factory from a mate of mine who smuggled out a copy, just amazing.
Esta canción es una obra maestra de la mejor música de los ochentas, el rock mejor elaborado por los maestros de Blue Nile. sin ser pretenciosa es una hermosa canción.
Everyone single person in the audience took home many special moments from that night. I got left with a spare ticket and handed into reception at the Concert Hall - with the instruction to give it F.O.C. to anyone who wanted to see the show but didn't have a ticket. Empty seat next to me for the first few songs, then this girl sits down. She was in tears several times during the show from the emotion of seeing BN perform. That was worth giving away a free ticket. Priceless.
The song that started it for me. Gary Davies on Radio 1 played it every day the week it came out. I had no idea who they were. Read a recommended new CD release in a Hi Fi magazine for Rootfops. Boom! Bought almost every CD they released and naughtily Kazaa rips of the Botti and Gabriel collaborations. Saw them at last on Peace tour, and this was played in the regular set and again in the encore. Less is more.
I hear alot of people talk about how underrated some bands are, but most of the times that's just nonsense, but not in this case because this is what you call a underrated band. Another great band was "love & money" Just check them out aswell because they sound like a mix between Inxs, Level 42 and Curiosity killed the cat.
Pretty sure I saw the Aberdeen leg of this tour, they toured as Paul Buchanan if I remember correctly? Literally the greatest band I have ever seen, they opened with over the hillside. The crowd applauded for minutes after then someone said "It's about bloody time"
Wish they would reconcile and release more music, but if not, Paul Buchanan should just continue as The Blue Nile with whoever wants to join - like Robert Smith is The Cure and George Clinton is Parliament Funkadelic etc.
i love this song, and it must be something sentimental for the uoloader, but the sound quality is not to great. please dont upload this..... sorry.....

Class never dates. A song of this quality will be with us for a long time. Everything about it is great.

Paul Buchanan’s voice is the sound of falling in love
The greatest song ever written ❤
One of Scotland s finests and probably one of the best 10 songs written by a Scottish musician
One of my top 10 songs ever. Best song in the past 40 years. Great band
The best of the best. It's just unreal how they keep it this casual I mean how that's even possible.
The Blue Nile are amongst the best bands ever. Their talent and unique sound is one of a kind and their music touches my soul.
It's a love song to Glasgow.

THAT VOICE. So well preserved, played to perfection by the band too.
Wished I'd seen them live, very underrated and under played, great band.
Yea I was lucky to be there too... singing our hearts out ... so love this band and Paul Buchanan’s voice in particular...
the bass player is damn good!
I had so forgot this song, unreal, hairs on the back of the neck time and memories of a life in London from decades ago......

If i would have written this song, and did nothing else with my live, i still would die very happy

Fascinating to see the band caught up in the spirit of this and really let themselves go. Spellbinding - wonderful performance.

I love it when the crowd sings. I was in that crowd.

Wow, I would have loved to be there. Sadly I've just discovered this excellent band through a couple of good musicians I know who loved Blue Nile.

Spine tingling. So emotional.
Moore got to be one of the most quietest musician I ever seen. Does he even talk?
Here we are ..caught up in this love
I think he sounds a bit like Sinatra.. Wonderful song.

One of those rare gigs that just stays with you. Absolute magic.
In 2008, at least for the Glasgow gigs, they played as Blue Nile.
(Check my comment with a link to the poster.)
I was there. So emotional.
Now that's good song.. and a good crowd. 👌
It was magical., I've never been at anything like it.
Another comment as i was privileged to be there the tracks sounded right off the record.

Enjoy I am there seeing them is as rare as rocking horse shit
Was this the gig when he missed the intro and had to stop and reset the sequencers? I was at that one.
The drummer is playing with his back to the audience?
Thanks for sharing this video, quality is excellent. Any more from this concert?
Wish I did, but no this is all I got.
Something to treasure.
They were billed as Blue Nile here. Not Paul Buchanan. 66,7 % of the band involved.

I was there ❤ and i also saw them at the Usher Hall Edinburgh……wish they would tour again
Wish they would reconcile and release more music, but if not, Paul Buchanan should just continue as The Blue Nile with whoever wants to join - like Robert Smith is The Cure and George Clinton is Parliament Funkadelic etc.

Annette Connor sorry, I hadn’t dropped down the full information.
DR DAVID SANDS too distracted by the sheer quality of PB, it's easily done 😉
