Amazing job as always, you've really helped with my own bl4 run, though I'm brute forcing mine a bit more I think. As for the Shadows skip, I find the gravestone to the right of the first trunk a much easier clip to perform. Roll jump yourself on top off of then jump to the left against the cliff and roll as you get into it. You'll clip through and its much safer because there's less chance of falling through the map. The likely reason why you don't keep blood-drenched clothes during the cutscenes (answering your question at 54:38) is that the game is probably using a copy of your character, with its own set of animations just for the cutscene, as to not hold all the longer animations in your playing character, keeping memory usage as low as possible during gameplay. Some ideas for the Rom fight. When she sends down the meteors, Instead of just running in a straight line, run in semi-circles so that you put less distance between you and the spiders so that you spend less time running back to them after each barrage of meteors. Also when she raises up the meteors don't run until you see the blue spots on the ground (you have enough warning and a quick dodge is usually enough to put you in a safe zone) but you spend time dodging something that is nowhere near close to hitting you so many times in that fight giving other spiders the chance to close in on you more. I noticed it in the other video, but you seem to waste more time running away from these things in this run than you did in that one which really slows down the fight and I'm sure it feels tedious while in the fight. Basically what I'm saying is I believe you can do better and I would like to see you succeed at trimming it down to feel more approachable. Overall really good run, I might be tempted to try it at some point.
Oh that's just a matter of playing things safer than necessary. Speed doesn't matter especially if you only save a minute at best to begin with. Having to start over from the beginning is way more tedious. Better too safe than very sorry
I was going to make a joking comment about the Rom fight alone taking up like 10% of the video, but then I decided to calculate it myself, and 22:50 divided by 1:43:22 means it's actually about 22% of the video lmaooo
In the first phase of the Micolash fight when trying to lure him into the hallway, you can actually get further away to cause him to try to close the distance a bit. After popping your head into his room and he starts to walk towards you, break LoS by going back and hanging out behind the entrance of the hallway. He'll walk right into the hallway all on his own for a nice Micolash slapping!

The werewolf grab attack is easier to bait out if you bait it to the far gate to Central Yarhnam, and then move back to the gate you want. Stand at the edge of the outer circle in the center of that courtyard, and wait. The wolf will either lunge at you or grab.
@@PressContinue The grab attack is triggered when the player character is a certain distance away. I think the window fluctuates, but it's around that distance. Also the section of the gate and a few rolls help increase the chances of success.
The AOE from Mergo's Wet Nurse explains why when I watched a full playthrough of this on the channel Outside Xtra where Luke played Bloodborne for the first time, and his chat got confused how he skipped her clone phase. He must have dodged it every time, his dodges were really good so I'm not surprised.
I know its been years but have you seen the new shadows AI freeze glitch? Much easier to pull off. Enter the boss room and spawn them in then log out and back in putting you outside the boss arena with the fog wall up. Then run at the fog wall on the left side and hug the wall. Back up from the fog wall and slowly edge up to the fog wall until you get the enter prompt then look torwards the left side wall and enter the fog wall. This is really easy at least for me to pull off and it freezes their AI. Hard to explain but easy to pull off.
One major quality of life improvement I will recommend is get a controller with remappable paddles on the bottom, or the Sony paddle add on for ps4 controller and set one to circle so you can sprint and control camera without using your chin lol, extremely useful for all games.
Well here we are again.... Guess it's time to fall asleep once more, listening to a crazy Dutch man assault my senses with puns! Also done possible trivia about the werewolf, apparently it's the second grab that will clip you on that wolf. I learned that after smashing face at the iosefka wall skip and failing A LOT.
You can still get the hunter set without going to Cathedral Ward. You can grab the box art set nearby the cleric beast, and it would even let you farm a tiny bit of resources on the way
Okay be honest - how many viewers actually watched the Rom fight in full? I couldn't even get through _watching_ it, let alone _playing_ it (though I suppose that it's probably far more intense when one is actually playing, what with it occurring almost an hour into the run). I do have two suggestions for future videos: do 4x speed during the long repetitive parts of the Rom fight for which there is no commentary; at least after you've shown the gist of what the strategy is. Also; consider wearing a heart rate monitor during the runs - people love that stuff, especially on a run as tense as this.
Fighting Rom in the chalices reveals a painful truth, that it can do arcane meteors at least 3 times in a row. And also, if you have the JP version of the game it swaps X with O, so you can sprint with thumb on X, then cross your index finger over to control the camera, which is almost impossible if your sprint is on O. It's From's fault really, to deliberately ignore the already industry-standard of sprinting with L3.
Yeah same goes for jumping. Having that as the same button as dodging when jumping provides no i-frames is not practical. Fortunately ds2 and 3 allow you to change that
Because there's no way you're going to wear out the durability in such a short time. At the end of the run I still had 129 durability left out of 200. I believe "weapon at risk" appears at 50. So there's no danger of breaking your weapon.
LOL, it is a b!tch of a jump I agree. It takes practice. You really have to make a sharp turn to the right when you jump, at the exact right moment. I actually recently tried this skip again and then I did it first try. Pretty sure that was pure luck, but still, once you've done it once, it will probably not take that many attempts anymore when you try doing it again.
Watched both of these "no hunters dream" runs. Ridiculously impressive. Why does weapon repairing not come into play? Do you cover that someplace? If so, I missed it.
I didn't because it doesn't come into play. It takes ages for a weapon to break. So as long as you're basically only fighting bosses, there's no danger of wearing out it's durability
Repairing in BB and DaS3 is so infrequently required that it feels like the mechanic is only there out of some sort of obligation, _especially_ compared to DaS2. BB has so many mechanics going on, and like a third or more of them could go completely unnoticed in a casual playthrough. Very FROM Soft design
@@jdodd74 Yeah it's something that's practically useless outside a run like this or specific versions of speedruns. It's like the darksign in dark souls, you've probably never used that one either, but you probably use homewards bones all the time. Same principle
Okay bro, love your vids, but if you’re gonna put time skip suggestions in the vid, put them where we can skip it without manually having to scrub, like in the description or a pinned comment. Just a bit of advice for finer content for your viewers
Even if I got really good at BB, Id probably not try this because I don’t like BB any% runs. Imo, the Shadows and Gascoigne are really the only great mandatory bosses and you managed to even skip them in this run. The optional bosses are almost all phenomenal though.
Er... no. I MIGHT consider doing the other main game bosses with a +0 sawspear, but hard reset? No way. Gherman for example doing almost no damage and no parrying and such would really be a nightmare.
Why not just access weapon upgrades/runs/your storage box from the Abandoned Old Workshop? Ez. Also, I kept thinking he was saying _Soul Spear_ and getting confused.
@@PressContinue I see; neat! I'm gonna try this run! It looks like a nice break from my usual BL4 hitless no-weapons no-dodge all-bosses blindfolded runs!
You know the room you start in? If you exit the room there is a stairwell if you get the wolf the grab you while you are pressed against the right wall (right going down left going up the stairs) it is a lot easier to clip through that wall then to clip through the gate
@@VoxTek426its not a perfect science. You just got lucky. Sometimes, I'm in front of the gate ready to press the shoulder buttons as soon as he grabs me... Only for me to not go through. Sometimes I get it on the first attempt, other times it takes longer. Same with Iosefkas door.
That rom fight was tedious even to watch. So many times i thought "id have finished her off" when she had two hits left and you were being very careful. Probably why, those kind of runs arent for me. Fun to watch tho, keep it up !
Just watched the first part a couple weeks ago and now I just watched this one, amazing bro just amazing, your commentary, skill and jokes were golden. 2 Questions, first how many times do you think you beaten the game before doing the first vid?. And second, how many atempts or hours (on average) did this second one take?
I have no idea how many hours i've put into this game. This second run didn't take that long because it's much easier. The main issue was getting the gate skip to work in the first place (I didn't know back then how to do it semi-consistently, the way I later showed in my bolt damage only run). The original no hunter's dream run took waaaaay too long to get done. And that had a lot to do with bad routing and too many yolo-strategies. I mean if you check out my any% no hit run which is basically the same route, I made so many improvements.
For those of you who are interested, there is another way to do the Glitch at the start of the run which requires a less precise wearwolf setup. ua-cam.com/video/u0ZfA4LR1mE/v-deo.html TL;DW if you reload the area the door to the starting part of the clinic will close. This can let you use the same grab in the corner by the door to do an Out of Bounds (OoB) skip. This is less precise because it's easier to get the wolf where you want him, however it has a higher setup time and may not be worth it in a run like this. For speedrunning or otherwise it can provide access to some interesting strategies. Notably related to the set-up of Bloodtinge builds if you have the balls to beat Martyr Logarius with a +3 to +7 weapon and don't have access to FDCD's (False-Depth Chalice Dungeons).
I actually started out trying that version of the skip but I found it waaaaaaaaaaaay harder to get the wolf to grab me. So in my experience it's the exact other way around. In fact, it's even possible that right after you glitch through the wall, the wolf hits you again right through the wall. So I definitely prefere the gate skip. But to be honest, both suck because of RNG.
@@PressContinue I'm playing some bloodborne atm and thought... You don't have a bl4 chalice guide do you. Might be an idea to keep bloodborne challenge runs going? Just a thought. Glad to see the channel growing.
@@csquared4538 Funny that you mention that because I'm not very satisfied with my original BL4 guide, so just like for the other souls games I'm planning to do something to supplement it. I.E. a BL4 NG+6 Guide which would include the chalice dungeons since you need to get through those to get access to cursed poorman gems. So it would be a boss compilation including the chalice dungeons bossfights. Very time consuming to make though.
Not possible. You need to get the eye of a blood drunk hunter to enter the DLC and that can only be acquired in the hunter's dream after beating Amelia
@@PressContinue Could you grab it after defeating mergo? rather than end the game you could just transport out. Still sounds like a nightmare (no pun intended), but I think you can do it within your rules.
@@naatosifish5422 But then you are already inside the hunter's dream... hence it has nothing to do with "no hunter's dream", so what would be the point?
@@PressContinue I feel like the point of this run at all is to deprive yourself of the benefits of the hunters dream. So while I get sticking strictly to rules, I'm saying you can get to the DLC and not use any of the benefits. Don't upgrade, don't grab the starting weapons, and don't go back until you beat orphan etc. You could also use any excess blood vials if you wanted to make sure you stayed in the same state as when you entered.
@@naatosifish5422 Ah so you simply mean beating the DLC with only a +0 saw spear and without dying? Well.... ok.... but to be frank, I would rather french kiss a skunk than doing that XD.
I know it makes the challenge less hard and impressive but you could you know do acouple of ng cycles so there wouldnt even be a need to go to the hunters dream
That would be extra easy mode, by doing in NG+. But then it's not that different anymore from a regular no death run, if there's no need to go to the hunter's dream anyway.

Yes.
The werewolf grab attack is easier to bait out if you bait it to the far gate to Central Yarhnam, and then move back to the gate you want. Stand at the edge of the outer circle in the center of that courtyard, and wait. The wolf will either lunge at you or grab.
Interesting. Sort of an AI exploit or does it simply increase the chances that he'll do the grab?
@@PressContinue The grab attack is triggered when the player character is a certain distance away. I think the window fluctuates, but it's around that distance. Also the section of the gate and a few rolls help increase the chances of success.
The AOE from Mergo's Wet Nurse explains why when I watched a full playthrough of this on the channel Outside Xtra where Luke played Bloodborne for the first time, and his chat got confused how he skipped her clone phase. He must have dodged it every time, his dodges were really good so I'm not surprised.

Chads beat bloodborne at bl 4.
Gigachads beat bloodborne as a regular foreigner.
Nice new style of tumbnails btw
Thanks, I kind of like it myself :)
Maybe something to think about if there's an obtainable official ps5 equivalent
Well here we are again.... Guess it's time to fall asleep once more, listening to a crazy Dutch man assault my senses with puns!
Also done possible trivia about the werewolf, apparently it's the second grab that will clip you on that wolf.
I learned that after smashing face at the iosefka wall skip and failing A LOT.
You can still get the hunter set without going to Cathedral Ward. You can grab the box art set nearby the cleric beast, and it would even let you farm a tiny bit of resources on the way
Could yes, but not really worth it IMO.
Damn your speech at 1:39:00 put me in a whole new existential crisis bro.
Roleplaying as a citizen of London, whenever there’s a football match.
Not gonna' lie, I was expecting you to get killed by that Snatcher and then teleport to the intro of Skyrim.
That's... a very specific and peculiar expectation
Now if you said the intro of morrowind then it would have made sense
Thanks for the link in the top comment on the 2018 vid
55:18 the most accurate run to the grocery store ive seen in a video game.
Fortunately ds2 and 3 allow you to change that
what kind of life choices bring you to this
You don't choose challenge running
Challenge running chooses you :)
:D
I commented on the previous guide asking why you didn't use the glitch to skip the gate. I see you took the advice finally 🤭
Yeah... but I do very much hate the gateskip -__- because that wolf just never wants to %&^%$# grab you >:( It's so frustratingly RNG heavy
Great video!! I cannot imagine having the skill or patience to try this! Quick question, how does your weapon not break?
Because there's no way you're going to wear out the durability in such a short time. At the end of the run I still had 129 durability left out of 200. I believe "weapon at risk" appears at 50. So there's no danger of breaking your weapon.
@@PressContinue dank je wel voor de antwoord! You make a good point! Cheers!
Bloodborne, but the nightmare is reality and The Moon Presence actually plunged the real world into a nightmare hell.
legend, thank you
You're welcome :)
Your videos are so good. You are amazing!
Can you make blooper video of this run? And/or othere challenge runs as well.

I love you casual animal cruelty. XD
Happy new year
Happy new year to you too :)
Just found your channel. I like it 👌
Awesome :D
I have been falling for 30 minutes!!!
LOL, it is a b!tch of a jump I agree. It takes practice. You really have to make a sharp turn to the right when you jump, at the exact right moment. I actually recently tried this skip again and then I did it first try. Pretty sure that was pure luck, but still, once you've done it once, it will probably not take that many attempts anymore when you try doing it again.
for shadows of Yharnam i have never seen anyone go up that tree. i just remember running up the gravestones and it was really easy
very useful tips, i guess i'm gonna try it without glitches anyway 👍🏻
Watched both of these "no hunters dream" runs. Ridiculously impressive. Why does weapon repairing not come into play? Do you cover that someplace? If so, I missed it.
I didn't because it doesn't come into play. It takes ages for a weapon to break. So as long as you're basically only fighting bosses, there's no danger of wearing out it's durability
@@PressContinue thanks! neat!
I did the crab claw aka "Furled Finger" technique for Rom and I still haven't recovered yet.
Any sort of clawgrip is extremely uncomfortable. I simply cannot do it. I feel like you would need mutated hands for that or something
Great video, nice job. I may have missed an explanation but where did all your blood echoes go after talking to Alfred? (1:00:00)
hunter's mark
Oh of course! I’m so used to BHM I didn’t even consider that. Excellent video!
Good point. Fixed.
Great stuff!
Even if I got really good at BB, Id probably not try this because I don’t like BB any% runs. Imo, the Shadows and Gascoigne are really the only great mandatory bosses and you managed to even skip them in this run. The optional bosses are almost all phenomenal though.
"So, I finally make the jump at 24"
Yeah, just gonna skip it
"I finally kill them-"
No, I wanna watch them bleed
LOL, yeah I can understand that
I wanna do this.
I'd say go for it :D
Nice guide! Next - No hunters dream All bosses? DLC not possible though
Er... no. I MIGHT consider doing the other main game bosses with a +0 sawspear, but hard reset? No way. Gherman for example doing almost no damage and no parrying and such would really be a nightmare.
@@PressContinue it would be a nightmare in dead 💀 but some of your runs already are enough nightmare for me x))
Joe Schmoe's Bizarre Adventure
Blud keeps forgetting that Iosefkas vial is unlimited. Use those instead of regular vials. After a hunter's mark, she'll have a fresh batch.
Why not just access weapon upgrades/runs/your storage box from the Abandoned Old Workshop? Ez. Also, I kept thinking he was saying _Soul Spear_ and getting confused.
Er... maybe because none of those things exist in the abandoned old workshop?
@@PressContinue I see; neat! I'm gonna try this run! It looks like a nice break from my usual BL4 hitless no-weapons no-dodge all-bosses blindfolded runs!
*2,5 years later:* "I'lL fUcKiN dO iT aGaIn!"
You know the room you start in? If you exit the room there is a stairwell if you get the wolf the grab you while you are pressed against the right wall (right going down left going up the stairs) it is a lot easier to clip through that wall then to clip through the gate
No it's way harder, which is why I chose the gate instead of the wall
Huh when i tried it i was having so much trouble with the gate and when i did the wall i got it first try
@@megaultradamn yeah this skip is weird but luckily i dont do it much
That rom fight was tedious even to watch. So many times i thought "id have finished her off" when she had two hits left and you were being very careful. Probably why, those kind of runs arent for me. Fun to watch tho, keep it up !
You can parry with both the rifle spear and the reiterpalasch. Reiterpalasch is pretty easy to get.
Not this again. Check the description box of the original video. It has a FAQ section
Do not apologise for picking up shinies, apologise for leaving them behind, leaving behind obvious pickups drives me WILD
@@PressContinue Thanks bud!
I wonder what's worse. This or a all Gwyn run
I would not know. Would love to do a playthrough like that though. But that's PC only territory
For those of you who are interested, there is another way to do the Glitch at the start of the run which requires a less precise wearwolf setup.
ua-cam.com/video/u0ZfA4LR1mE/v-deo.html
TL;DW if you reload the area the door to the starting part of the clinic will close.
Man you gotta work on claw grip fr. It's really quick to learn, doesn't hurt your hands or anything, and it'll open up a whole new world
I just started watching, but if you die to snatchers will it still send you to the hunters dream? Can imagine tonitrus being a nice upgrade.

@@PressContinue hahaha ah OK. Here I am thinking I'm getting one up on you! 😂
@@csquared4538 Pfff never :p
Amazing run! did you ever try to include the dlc into it?
That looks like a loooot of pain
Yeah, but compared to the original run this was much much more doable
Quite thrilling.
I find the werewold clip is easier & more reliable if you lure it up the stairs by iosefka.
I had the opposite experience. I had a way harder time pulling that clip off. Both versions suck to be honest.
