My favorite piece for flute. I played this as my graduation concert in university. It is so wonderful. So glad to find it here on UA-cam for all to enjoy.
I was very surprised. The introduction of the music had a giant speed, and an excellent melody as well, meanwhile the introduction of the flute solo had a very slow speedt. If i were the composer, i would keep the same speed. he destroyed the giant, furious energy of the orchestra.
I completely disagree. This contrast is what makes this piece even more brilliant, this break from normality with this beginning of the mysterious slow flute is what shows how brilliant and unique Benda was in his time.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, this is highly reminiscent of JJ Quantz.
