It snowed up here last week. Anyone who wants or needs shelter is amply provided for. But power is back to all but about 500 households. It's mainly rough for folks who are trying to repair their own homes or businesses -- as many lower income or farm homes up here are hand-built cabins. Deep snow is always a pain up here, even at the best of times. Ironically, the fact that ice and snow cut off isolated communities and households, actually made the shattered infrastructure brought by Helene not as heavy as blow. Folks are used to going it alone for a few days. What was really bad, was not being able to communicate. We were really scared, after seeing what happened to Swannanoa and Black Mountain and Old Fort. We were afraid that every community up there had been washed out entirely, and no one could get in or get in touch. I'm super grateful for the Starlink tech , as well as the folks who got on citizen band/ham radio and didn't rest for about five days. There's a LOT of firewood, at least! 😂 Folks are just stacking it out on the curb with FREE TO GOOD HOME signs. 🌲🌳🪵
Great job Max, 👍 but I never hear any weather in N.C. where there is 10,000dead and 10,000 homeless people who need help with heat and shelter over100,000 dislocated they need help desprately
Yes we do. Charlotte right here so I still have everything thank god, but my people in mountains are so fucked smfh sleeping in tents and freezing. Just got done snowing up there
Seriously, there is desperate need everywhere. Now with Christmas coming there will be more people ending their own lives than ever before and too many no longer care or notice. We sure aren't coming together.
From day 1 these people need to get the hell out of these mountains and this disaster region and get somewhere they can SURVIVE A FEW YEARS. It took 200 years to populate those woods and build intrastructure and will take $$$Billions more to resettle. Get out.
Before crazy consumerism no one put up Christmas decorations until after Thanksgiving. Now Christmas decorations are nothing more than an advertisement. It's a sad mad world. I hope you're bots. Most comments that show up are.
I live in Massachusetts, wanna trade? I am so over the cold and snow. I enjoy the first snow storm then I'm wanting spring. I love gardening and I can't until May-ish.
Thank you, Max…really appreciate how you break down and explain weather patterns for the entire United States. Great info for travelers. Have a great week, happy Thanksgiving, and safe travels to SC
Central Indiana update.. a 55° day.. no sun whatsoever.. little bit to no wind.. when a gust of wind hits.. burrr. I think this calm beautiful fall day will chase over soon.. Everyone stay safe..stay prepared
@ yes it is. And very conservative for having multiple colleges. I grew up on a farm near Wayne ohio.. first time living in town.. definitely could be worse..
I was born and grew up in a small village in upstate NY. I currently make TX my home. There is a big difference in the cold weather between the two. In Texas, the cold wind cuts right through you, to your bones. It’s not pleasant. We don’t get snow very often, but we can count on ice in February. 🥶 I’m ready for spring. My favorite season here. Stay safe and warm everyone. Happy Thanksgiving to all. 🦃
Lived in Houston Tx for 20yrs. My first winter my mom got me a leather coat and said this is the style. IT WAS 70 and ladies had knee high boots and leather coats on. I wore that coat a dozen times. And the high humidity does cut to the bone but was rare.
@@TxxRose I let you have it, I got tired of 3 showers a day and the endless summers and the Texas sixed sqitos eating at me. Moved to the mountains as we speak we have light flurries and its 23 :). I love snow wearing snow gear, but that's me HAHAH

All the lake effect in past years what u talking about 😂
@@michaelblair4997 Michigan is pretty vast, I mean the weather in Copper Harbor isn’t gonna be the same as in Cassopolis.
Hahaha as a Texan I think ur crazy 😂
hoping there'll be a snow storm on black friday since I work black Friday 😂😂😂 try anything to keep customers away
For real, I don't like people lol
Meh, most of that crap is online nowadays thankfully. I remember the days of tripping over people on Black Friday... ouch! Lol
Snowball fight!
…so, how much snow in Southern Indiana???
I hate when snow is so dangerous. Know of far too many people killed during the holidays. Would never wish for snow
Thank you Max! May you and everyone else have a safe journey and a wonderful holiday!
Those poor Helene victims are going to get blasted.
I was thinking that too.
Yes. I'm so worried about them 😢💔

It IS indeed snowing right now here in my area of Northeast Iowa. Big, fluffy flakes.
2 years ago we had feet of snow per day here by l a ke superior totalling 20 feet to 25 feet of snow. Bring it on I have no problem with it this year.
I hope for at least 10 feet of snow in the Ohio Valley. That would be quite something! ⛄️❄️

We would be all over the news👍
Thanks Max!

Yes we do call northern Michigan the U.P 😂 we’re Yoopers ❄️❄️ thank you for your coverage, Max!
Maybe the extreme cold will kill off some of the bugs that seem to have increased here in Ohio.
If you never worked retail, you haven't a clue. The nicest people become obnoxious.
Max, I kept thinking you really mind me of someone and I figured out who it is: fictional Kurt from the Gilmore Girls. Love your channel n forecasts.
