I'm on the spectrum myself and have worked in the past as an RBT/camp counselor with kids and adults with ASDs/IDDs. Being a BCBA or BCBA-D (I'm currently doing research in my undergrad program and am planning on conducting research in grad school) is definitely a career aspiration of mine! I always appreciate BCBAs educating people more about the topic. :)
You can have degree in any discipline. I had mine in Textile Technology from a Nigerian college. Just enrolled into capella. Excited to start next year
totally stressful. I was offered a job, I turned it down, I figured my children are grown, I traveled that road already I did not want to travel that rd. again. Plus Im too old, they would have realized that once they met me. I was just looking to make more money on the side, but a job like this will give me high blood pressure.
Hi, I am so glad I found your video. I just completed my master degree with Capella but in Special Education. I am trying to now figure out what should I do in order to become a BCBA. I wish I would have found this video before completing it in special education. Do I need to become an RBT first?
@@mo-aeshasramirez-lugo8821 hi! I am so glad you’re here and that I am able to help. Congratulations on your graduation! To answer your question no you don’t necessarily need to become an rbt but you do need 2,000 fieldwork hours in order to take the exam and the easiest way to get those is by becoming an rbt (there are other ways)
Hey, I have my B.S and am currently a BT at a clinic where I am being trained to be a RBT. I’ll take my competency next week and then sit for my RBT exam. I am interested in the Capella program, was it hard getting in?
Hi this was very informative. I have 5 years of teaching experience, and I’m about to graduate with my Masters in Secondary Education: English 7-12. Does this mean that I am eligible for tab advanced certification, since I already have a background in education?
Hi beautiful! Thanks so much for watching and I’m so glad to help. That is correct! You just have to take into consideration supervision hours but as far as academic qualifications you would be fine💕
Congratulations on your new journey! I highly recommend Capella especially for people who work full time, have children, etc. You can learn all while not putting everything on hold too!
Hi thank you, i truly enjoyed your videos, i have questions but i cant find you on ig, i am done with my masters and trying to work as an rbt to get my field work hours, do i need the 40 hrs training for rbt plus the test or theres a fast track?
Omg congrats on completing your masters program! That’s the biggest step. But if you want to get those hours I will say the quickest way is to become an rbt and to ask about fellowship positions. Within those positions they prioritize your hours more than anything. My instagram is nikkreeves_ let me know if you have further questions

Looking into Capella for my bachelors and masters… How do you like it?

@@LifeWnikk Thank you so much. I’m 52 years old, single mom of 2 teens and an RBT. Did you by any chance do their Flexpath program?
Be careful with capella they are not listed on the list of accredited universities for masters program.
@@judyhare8447did you register already? Go to SUNY.
A bachelor degree in nursing or a master as a Nurse Practitioner will work?
Bachelors in nursing works i just got approved to do my masters in bcba
@@lizabetcruz4211 I have a ba in psych can be a psych nurse and a BCBA ?
Is there any way I can by pass the degree
Unfortunately there is not. Unless you get a masters in a related field and collect those indirect and direct hours
