- We take the water bike to new heights in this episode, literally!
We go to our local cliff jumping spot with the kicker and have a little to much fun... I blew out my eardrum from slapping the water so hard lol. But I already can't wait for it to heal and to get some more extreme water biking in! I build up a new street bike for a session, then we head up to Vans HQ for the Integration premiere, don't miss the good times!

@@NickoSmithson that's a good call. Should probably start off each session with a chill test run or trick just to make sure your balance is randomly thrown off one day without expecting it.

Honestly I thought the same thing while I was filming! I was like go faster in my head hahah but he handled it!
Thanks for giving us these videos. the way you carry yourself after a crash is inspiring, i think most of us would be complaining how much it sucked and how bad we hurt but you stay positive. seeing how you use that to show how close you are to the goal and not taking it as being far away from the goal is really powerful.

Some advice : the Red Bull Cliff Divers always go in feet first to avoid injuries. Hope next time you can get feet first fast enough!

We used to do this with our bikes every summer back in the late 80's and into mid 90's. Just took some old 1-2 liter soda bottles with caps on and duct tape them to the bottom of the top-tube and crossbar on handlebars. Really sucked more back in those days because most bearings weren't sealed and those that were like my Chris King was almost $200 for just the headset alone. Times have changed along with the bikes themselves but what hasn't changed is the amount of fun to be had jumping bikes into lakes or off cliffs.

You’re the man Dennis! I did something pretty similar to you with the ear, all cherry now but make sure you take antibiotics (if needed) so you dont end up with a swamp ear like me!
There are ear plugs you can get for cliff diving, to prevent damage to the ear due to a rapid change in water pressure. Not the same, but it's similar to what happened to you. I've gotten some extremely painful injuries that way. If you want to do it again, look into getting some ear plugs, or for a cheaper option there is a type of wax you can buy which conforms to your ear shape and does the same thing.

Ruptured eardrums suck, just leave it alone for a couple weeks to let it fully close up nice and solid. You'll have that urge to pop it to get hearing back, but the hole will just stay open and piss out air. Need that hole to seal up strong to pop back out.

Ruptured mine on a lake jump. Ear plugs help prevent it when you do it again.

Busted my ear drums a bunch of times doing water related sports. I was able to blow air out of them for a bit. You should heal up just fine.

@Enarson619 is been a while but I think a month or so before you are 100%. I started getting my hearing back pretty quick though as it healed.
Any balance issues with the ear stuff? I have been dealing with it for a little while now. Sucks.
No thankfully my balance seems fine. Just hearing is not good lol. I hope yours gets back to normal %100!
@@Enarson619 thank you brother. I had to have surgery on mine when I was a kid. I've heard it can cause issues later in life. Unfortunately, I think I'm one of the unlucky ones.
