    UPDATE 4 (Final): Today (8/30/2022) the new baseplates arrived from Ownboard. I replaced the damaged baseplates. Took the board out for a 15 mile test/adjustment ride. The board performed GREAT. I do have to say that the trucks on this board really do feel like DKP trucks when they are TKP trucks. Thank you Ownboard for responding to my issue and for replacing the baseplates under the warranty.
    UPDATE 3: Today (8/17/2022) I reached out to Ownboard again by reply to an email they sent me indicating they planned to replace the base plates. It has been eight days since they indicated they were going to replace the baseplates. As of today, I have not received any additional communication nor shipping information.
    UPDATE 2: This morning (8/9/2022) I received an email from Ownboard indicating they are going to send a new front and rear baseplate. I will update again once I receive the two baseplates.
    UPDATE 1: Approximately three hours after the video was uploaded, and with a little help from viewers such as D1ofAquavibe, Ownboard responded in the UA-cam comments. I will be reaching out to Ownboard again and will update you all on the status of this issue.

      @@davidmagallanes6144 They asked me to contact them through FB Messenger...of which I do not have a FB account. I own a network security company...we frown upon the use of FB, so I don't have a FB account. I did reach out to them again via two email addresses from their website and the Contact Us page.
      The ball is in their court. They know I have an issue. They responded on here. I will update this vid when we have a resolution.
      I appreciate all the attention on this. Sounds like we have others who are experiencing the same issue. Maybe we can help them too.

      @@gevons Hey Dude, ya you are probably right. Using their website communication tools as well as their direct email to their service department is probably a pretty stupid thing todo. And yes, using the same communication tools over again ended up proving that they were receiving the communications as they did respond back on those communication tools after the video went live. And the remaining two-thirds of your message is incomprehensible, so can't even respond, but I do appreciate your effort to communicate...no matter how poor it was done.

    My brand new Zeus Pro has one dead motor after 3 rides. I'm pretty bummed about that. I used the customer support "contact us" on their website 24 hours ago. I hope they can help me out, after using this brand new board for less than 1 week, I don't want to have to buy and install another motor already.😑
    Edit: after some help from Ownboard customer service, we trouble-shot the problem and they sent me a new motor. Board is running great now.

    Thanks for your input not the first I heard of problems with ownboard if a company doesn't respond in a timely manner that's a good enough reason not to buy since they most likely won't respond later to warranty issues.

    I ordered 2 ownboard Zeus pros. One for me and one for my friend. One of the boards never came in. Box was empty. The other board I got had quality issues. Like the belts super tight, and would rub on the cover, two bearings were broken and one of the motor didn’t move until I put a lot of throttle. I would get "motor stall" message every now and then. So right out of the box was bad, I had to fix it up and get it ready and "safe". It worked perfect after that.
    It’s just all these things lead me to believe there is no good quality control and the shipping problems itself was very frustrating to deal with. The board which came in missing, they blamed it on me that I received it and told them I didn’t. After multiple back and forth with ownboard, I contacted PayPal and PayPal sent me my money back for the board which did not arrive. Very bad experience with Ownboard.
    I suggest remaining Stateside and buying something American(Hoyt, Kaly) or Canadian(Lacroix) even if it means you’d end up paying a bit more. It’s worth it

      Man what a crap experience. I totally agree with buying stateside, but I got a Board out of NYC no names needed, and it had a bad motor on the first ride, not much QC there. That said I sent it back no hassles and they fixed it. If it was a Chinese company we would have traded emails for a week until they decided to send the parts and have you fix it myself. That seems to be the norm with these companies, our idea of a warranty is we send it back and they fix it. Their idea of a warranty is fight with you for a week and wear you down and then send you the parts to fix it yourself. Of course while you are waiting for a month on parts from China your 6 month warranty is ticking away.

    Sorry to hear. Will any standard king pins fit those trucks? That’s a really nice board but I do like evolve. I have a couple carbon GTR that I got used. I called evolve with a few basic questions and there was a guy here in America picking up the phone at 9 am. There’s also a store in San Francisco and other major cities that sells evolve parts. I’m not sure I’d count on getting my evolve boards repaired at a shop easily but at least I could probably get the parts fairly fast vs waiting a month for a Chinese company to even respond and then wait more weeks for shipping. The looks and specs the Zeus has for that price is really attractive. I’m sure that thing would smoke my GTR

      Being that it is a drop-through deck and also just because of design and looks, I would like to keep with the original truck design. I am sure I could find another set of trucks to fit, but that would always be in the back of my mind when hitting 30 MPH. The deck of the OG and the Pro are the same, so I am sure I could pull the trucks off my OG and put on the Pro...but then I lose my OG of which I really do like. I like the Pro too...just not the striped kingpins.
      I agree with you in parts...it is a pain in the ass to wait a month for parts to arrive. Really takes away from the riding season. I don't have multiple boards only because I review them, I also have them to deal with charging times and repair issues. AND, you can never have too many boards...in my opinion.
      I am still going to challenge the American manufacturers to start competing with these other boards. While I think we have some okay options, we need more competitive options.

    Just got a Zeus pro yesterday and it is awesome. First thing I did was check all hardware and loosen the kingpin nuts to start from scratch and adjusted to 2 complete turns. I thankfully did not have an overtightened nut. The board is looser than I would like and feel tightening more could cause an issue. What bushings did you order from riptide? First eskate and I have no idea about parts.

      Dude...congrats on the ESK8 and welcome to the cult...I mean community. I am glad you had better luck with the kingpins. AND, yes, I agree on the trucks. I also have the OG version of the Zeus. The Pro version is a much looser setup, and I really felt as though I was riding a DKP setup. I attribute that to the new truck design they did on the Pro. Since I like speed, I like the TKP trucks and a more stable ride so as to keep the speed wobbles down.
      As for the bushings, I run the Riptides Kranks in the 90a and 93a durometer. I can't really tell you if you should use a barrel or a chubby or a cone...etc. as combinations of those or any bushing will give you a different setup based upon what you want. What I plan to do when the new baseplates arrive is to replace the original boardside and roadside bushings with the same style Riptide bushings (barrels and cones). Then if I want, I can begin to refine by using combinations of bushings as well as durometers to get the response I want. This you really have to test until you find the ride you want.

    I would love to start building boards. Need investors to get started though. That and the American boards would probably be just as expensive as Evolve with the same performance as the Chinese boards. The selling point would HAVE to be the customer support.

    This might be a silly question but did you check your spam/junk folder? I bought an ebike last year from a Chinese company and contacted them about an issue and didn’t get a response. After sending a 2nd email and still seeing no response, I checked my junk folder to find the 2 replies from them🤦‍♂️ Maybe it was flagged as junk because it was from a foreign region, I’m not sure🤷‍♂️

      First thought would be bad connection. BUT, what you need to do is hit up Ownboard right away and start the process or getting that replaced.

    As has been stated, it seems to be a error in communication. I've only seen positive integrity from Ownboard as of late. I myself had a crack in my Zeus Pro and they sent me a replacement deck immediately 👍👌🤙

      Hey Shane...thanks for the post. In this case we will have to agree to disagree, and if you read several of the other comments, they are similar to my situation. Within two hours of posting the video, Ownboard did respond via the UA-cam comments, but that was also after a couple viewers on here also reached out on my behalf. I then, the next morning, resent the same emails using the same delivery methods after posting the video, and by that evening, Ownboard did return a message to the email from which I posted and provided in all attempts to communicate. This was after almost two weeks and three attempts to reach out to them.
      Now, to be fair, as I am a fair person, Ownboard this morning indicated they were sending new baseplates and were including additional kingpins in case I wanted to attempt to press out the others. So, after what I consider an enormous amount of pressure, they communicated with me. Should it have had to take this much pressure? No, so I unfortunately right now can't agree with you. And yes, it was an error in communications...they forgot to communicate.
      As long as they address this issue and the issue of other Ownboard users, I am fine. But I need to see some improvement for a few other owners, some of which have posted here.
      I really do appreciate your comment and view and do respect your view. Let's just make sure these companies remember who is supporting them and that they should in turn support us.

      @@esk8ooligan sorry you had this experience. It is indeed unacceptable. Most of the time you mostly only hear about negative experience on social media. They are definitely not perfect but overall I believe they are doing pretty good. I have heard of many instances where emails haven't gone through do to their "Great Firewall of China"

    I'm happy your issue is solved now and that Ownboard eventually responded.
    Apart from that, I would like to ask you what do you think of your Zeus Pro now compared to the OG Zeus (that I have) ? Do you think it's worth buying when you have the OG ? Is the upgrade enough to spend more than 1500$ more ?
    As far as I am concerned, I got the 9028 Esc that is now the Esc of both the OG and the Pro and have to install it into the board. So my Zeus will be closer to the Pro after that by getting better braking and acceleration. Besides, I also got the hota wheels and cover belts that are also oil slick like in the Pro.
    So do you still think after that the Pro is worth buying ? I just told myself there were only some minor improvements.

      Short answer...no. Not if you have the OG version and with those mods, again no. If it were my first Zeus board...well, then yes I would.
      I really like my OG. I am still waiting on the replacement base plates for the Pro, but I know they are on the way. The time I did have on the Pro, I really liked the board. The new trucks kind of gave me a DKP feeling. I am not a Molicel fan...I just don't see the superiority that everyone touts. Don't get me wrong, the Pro is a dope looking board. I love it...it is an attention getter, but I didn't buy it really for that. In my opinion, there were not significant enough upgrades to own both...but both I own...go figure.
      If you are a speed demon, and you like acceleration and possibly carving, I would encourage you to look at the Hurricane or the Eovan GTS Carbon Super. Now, I agree with a previous statement made in another comment about higher speeds and DKP trucks. BUT, of these two, I would look at the GTS. I have to admit, I really like that board. With some bushing changes and kingpin adjustments, that board is pretty stable. I have done 30 on that board and not been majorly concerned. I love the VESC in that board as it has some nice customizations that can be done in the settings. The GTS has some damn nice acceleration too. The Hurricane is a beast of a board, has great acceleration, and I love the deck design (aggressive shoulders). BUT, I have found its DKP trucks to be a little twitchy at higher speeds. Both the Hurricane and the GTS are DKP boards, but with the MadESK8 105 wheels, the GTS is a carve master. I find myself on either the Zeus OG or the GTS 75% of the time. Just love those two boards. AND, the GTS is a great looking board.
      One complaint that I have on the GTS is the foam grip tape. The grip tape separates from the foam and the foam separates from the board. I have gone to using Gorilla Super Glue to re-apply the foam to the board. Works well. I then use the Mob M80 grip tape from a local skate shop to replace the the grip tape to the board. At this point, while I don't like to have to do that, I have a solution that works. Plus, I have had ZERO issues with my GTS. I just think they build a pretty damn good board.
      If you have done those mods to your OG, you are 90% on your way to the Pro...in my opinion.
      By having the Zeus OG and the GTS, you would have the best of both worlds in my opinion. I have done a few vids on the GTS, and I plan to do a couple more. I really do think this board is a contender that does not get enough love in the ESK8 community.
      Probably more than you wanted to hear. Feel free to ask more questions. As you can probably see, I will tell you what you need to hear, maybe not what you want to hear.

      I know the Hurricane even if I have never riden it and that was one my potential choices along with the Zeus before I finally got that one. No regret even if I have had some issues with the Zeus (the worst being one of the 2 cables under the board that disconnected) but I love it. Hurricane too big, too heavy in comparison and too much of a beast : I don't need a competition board. On top of that, she loses the match of range and stability versus the Zeus.
      But I didn't know about the Eovan, will see your videos. Indeed, I'm looking for a second "premium" e-board and my number one criterion now is the carving ability. And didn't think of the Eovan GTS because I didn't know it. Actually, I was heading towards the Hadean Bamboo. I know I will get great carving. The problem is I don't wanna lose in stability what I win in carving. I'm not sure that the Hadean is stable even with a good setting.
      I know there is the B One Balrog that as a flexy deck and moreover a tkp truck to add stability. I have watched reviews and this one seems to have the best balance between both. But it's not a premium board, not like the Zeus, the Hurricane or the Hadean. Or the Eovan. Not a top-of-the-notch one. Still good but not great as the Zeus is.

    LaCroix hasn't made any contact with me after two emails to them. Ordered a board over a month ago and haven't heard anything from them. They have the worst customer service out of every company I've seen. Just like this bull

    thankyou for this video, i went with Backfire but i wanted to go with Ownboard but i chose not to bcs when it comes to toys that r this costly id prefer the ability to drive over there and see them in person if need be(they have a location about an hour from me). Backfire is known for good customer service, i was sent a bad esc and my board was lost for 2 weeks in shipping so i told them to send the parts and ill do the work and send the old back which i did. Backfire stayed true to their reputation. i have more friends sponsored by Ownboard than Backfire but i always hear of these ridiculously long wait times for shipping so they have customer service but they r still a struggle to deal with. after seeing this video and some of the stories in the comments i wont be shopping Ownboard. Zues Pro is my favorite prebuild, unfortunately ill never have one of my own until they clean up their reputation.

    We need more accountability from some of the esk8 brands. If somethin goes wrong, it can be a lotta drama tryin to get help. Things have improved a little but not enough.
    Yeah man I think I hit a curb on my front kingpin on my verreal or somethin but luckily thread wasn't badly damaged.
    Your issue sounds worse since it was done before shippin 😱
    I really hope these brands get their ish together but we need more videos like this to push then into takin responsibility. Personally I don't consider their warranties very reliable.
    It's a shame we didn't get the bushings video 😭

      I agree with the accountability, but it is hard when dealing with overseas companies. I own a business and this is a very typical issue with foreign companies.
      Sorry to hear about your board...hope all is well.
      Since nothing was done to the kingpins until the time I decided to switch out the bushings, I would say it was done during assembly. I am curious though if the process to oil-slick the truck plates, hangers, kingpins, etc. I am wondering if that has had a negative affect on the strength of the kingpin bolt.
      The only way we are going to get them to be more responsive is with the power of currency. Take that away from them or decrease their income and they will make the necessary changes.

    I am also having issues with warranty work, my charger port shot flames out when I went to charge the board now it and the charger are fried. Just so you know I did not have the charger block plugged in, I never do unless I am charging the board and then it is plug in board first then to power. I still have not heard back threw FB, what's up app or 2 emails...still waiting.....

      @@RealityOfAndy So let me get this correct. You have a new Ownboard Zeus Pro that is under warranty and you now have a defective charger and a defective battery? And Ownboard is not responding to you?
      What are your dates? Purchase date, receive date, issue occurred on date, notification dates of issue? If you don't mind sharing them.
      Do you have your order number that was issued when you purchased the board? This will prove to Ownboard that you have a valid purchase from them. I am not asking for this number, just want to make sure you have it.

    As someone who just bought a zeus pro, this is slightly worrying, hopefully this is a 1 time thing and you get it figured out, and at least it was just a issue with the trucks and not a major failure that could cost alot off warranty. IL still be getting the zeus as I respect the company but this could leave a bad spot on them for awhile if they don't fix it.

      Cavan...I still stand behind the quality of the product. The Ownboard Zeus is a very good board. I do not believe you made a bad purchase...as long as you do not have an issue. This issue is not specific to Ownboard. I had an encounter with Meepo in which they addressed the issue immediately, and they were great with which to work. It still took a LOOOOONNNNGGG time to get the parts as they sent it by row boat from China, but they were great. There have been a couple other board manufactures that have been a little rough.
      I think you will like the Pro product...congrats on your purchase. Update us on what you think of the board when you receive it.

      @@wolfgangp.muller7823 My issue was a charging issue. They sent a charger...did not fix issue. Ended up being the battery. They sent a new battery. They were pretty much Johnny on the Spot and did a pretty good job. Just took a long time to get to me.
      In my opinion, those of us who have the Hurricane with the potential issue should have the upgrade kit sent to us. I really do not think we should have to pay more money to fix a known issue...just my thinking.

    I am glad I held off before buying a Zeus! I have seen lots of examples of bent trucks and cracked decks with ownboard. From social media groups to local group rides, I've seen lots of unhappy customers.

    Sucks. I just got a bamboo pro. I wish I had seen these complaints first. I haven't had a problem but have only rode it maybe 5 miles.
    I probably would have gotten something else because a thousand dollars is kinda a big deal to me.

    I also tried to reach Ownboard Support after I have bought W2 Pro, but the same result - no response at all. Never ever Ownboard. I prefer worse quality, good support.

    Maybe quit complaining and just go to the hardware store and buy some new kingpins. Hell just go to a skate shop

      Hey CF...thank you for your comment. I have yet to find kingpins at the local hardware store, but maybe where you live the local hardware store is also the local skate shop. Here we have actual skate shops, but they do not deal in kingpins that are specialized for ESK8s or the ESK8 truck hangers that were designed for these boards. The video was also to serve as an awareness to others who may purchase boards from these manufactures. It is a buyer beware market these days. I was attempting to provide insight to others. You might have missed that message in the video. I really do appreciate your comment. All views are always welcome in my channel.

      I think the bigger joke is your response, but what would we expect from someone who needs to stroke their ego through a screen name such as DonFather. Not even 100% sure that what your point is, but then again DonFather, I probably shouldn't expect too much from you. By the way, I do own a tech company...so of the two here, I think I'll throw my weight behind me who does own a company rather than someone who does not own a company, but claims they "know how business works"...that is probably the biggest joke of your post.

    So this is the issue, Americans feel as if they are to good to work hard and make a legitimate product, we've outsourced everything They know this, so trying to get anything good built or made in mass production other than GUNZ is just falling on deaf ears.

    Just like u I had the same experience when the OG Zeus ESC braking issues were going on,as my case was really a bit worse than others, the board didn't even move my 200lbs in modes 1 and 2.
    Well just like you I explained everything in the email, provided pictures and videos and links to them...send it to 2 different emails published on their website as pre-sales and After-sales support / contact us.
    Sent it again after 3 weeks past(as it was their new year).
    Never got an anwser from them via email.
    After that contacted them via WhatsApp...where I only got at that time usual response there is no new ESC, or we will let you know if there are some news...so my issue was never solved.
    At the end I had to buy an ESC if I wanted to ride safely and that's not how a top paying customer should be treated.
    One thing is the integrity as you say which is questionable here...and I don't like it. After talking to much truth on the Fb group they banned me from posting for a period of a month just before the release of the Pro without any explanation why when I asked the moderators(OB) about it. The fb group doesn't even have any rules written about posting etc...
    After installing the new ESC...I feel my battery pack is degrading pretty fast...I get to the point where I can feel the battery sag pretty fast. I I also recently had a serious crash created by a power cutout midride.
    I explained it to OB and asked about the prices for a new battery pack, they said we dont usually sell the battery pack, we will let you know soon as possible.
    And that was it, hadn't heard from them since July 20th...
    The integrity, mediocre warranty terms, waiting times, language barriers(I feel their support team only follow scripts as they don't have a lot of technical knowledge to reply appropriately) and at the end also questionable parts quality(kingpins breaking, to shallow bearing seats in rims or wheels, dying chargers, poor QC, and lack off attention to detail at assembly) I devided I am moving away from China based eskate brands...and will only buy local/regional. ✌

      Wow, sounds like you had a very similar experience. I was thinking it was just me, but I am seeing more and more responses with similar details.
      We do need to see how the ESK8 community can hold manufacturers accountable. A warranty does no good if we still have to go out and buy the replacement parts because we receive no response.
      Yes, I was told to go to the FB page. Not the way this type of transaction should be handled.
      Sorry to hear about your experience. I am hoping by drawing some attention to this, thing might begin to change a little. Will wait to see.

      @GeeKIller I was trying to put on some new motor hangers and also found out that not all motor bolts were tight as they should be.
      Oh one more thing I forgot to mention, In one of the wheels(clouds 120s) there were parts of a disintegrated bearing.
      What board had the fake cells inside?

      @GeeKIller Yep it's the Jingnoo battery pack in my OG Zeus also. So some yt reviewers said there should be Panasonic battery cells in there, which I doubt a little, that's why I asked wich board.
      I am also leaving that boat for Onsra probably as I have local support and a reasonable warranty terms etc...

      I am not sure where the pressed in kingpin comment is coming from in your response. No one has ever said that the kingpins are screwed in. The thread issue is with the threads that are used to connect the hanger to the base plate. I, and most skaters, am aware that kingpins are pressed.

      This is the exact reason I went with Exway. The only reason why ownboard responded is because you put video proof online.
      I have multiple friends who have had the same issue.

      @@mjdelucia1990 I unfortunately get it. We as a community need to hold all manufacturers accountable. If we see a trend in misbehavior, we need to call it out and make other aware. If a mistake was made, we need to address the mistake, take measures to ensure it does not happen again, and move on.
      The goal of my channel is to continue to grow the sport/culture of skating (specifically ESK8), and to make sure the ESK8 community is not taken advantage of by any manufacturer or company that wants to capitalize on a growing sport in the name of profits.
      The ball is in Ownboard's court. I sent my notifications again for the third time. They know there is an issue, we'll see how important it is to them to address the issue and support the ESK8rs who are buying their products.

      Ya, I could do that and may have to, but shouldn't we be safe in using the communication tools on their websites?
