This is perfect! We're gonna put it in our next issue. A lot of people can benefit from this! Thank you so much for taking the time to explain all this. Personally, I have always wanted to have a beehive or two.

idk if you’d be able to answer this and it’s ok if you can’t, but i trash picked an old beehive box and i want to upcycle it into a little side table. i scrapped off all the wax and cleaned it with murphy oil soap. after watching this i might consider planing and sanding the edges, but it’s there anything in particular that you would do to the inside to make it more suitable as a piece of indoor furniture? i also might consider refinishing the wood, but i’m not sure if the wood as it is is suitable for that. this video was very helpful regardless and thanks for any advice you can give too!

Beeswax and propolis are safe and beneficial in many ways. I don’t have any concerns with using the wood for furniture. In fact, beeswax is often used as a wood finish for furniture.

Also, bee equipment tends to smell nice.

Completely random, non-bee question: That dust collector attached to your sander looks like something that would really help my husband. Would you mind telling me what it is, and where you got it? Also, thank you for this simple video. It's time for us to refurbish a hive box, too!

The one I have is very expensive because I am an avid woodworker. It is a Festool Rotex with a Festool Dust Extractor. There are cheaper options such as the Bosch Dust Extractor that could connect to a cheaper orbital sander
