I think a lot of the pain points you have can be singled out to be issues that stem from genshin being one of a few games of it's kind in the way that was made. With that I mean that it came in a time where innovation was needed and where players had a lot of time on their hands due to the pandemic, so they decided to create this open world that was easy to get into at first and then gambled on building upon it later in case it succeeded - or ditch it like a lot of other gacha games do. This also means that the region of Mondstadt turned out to be much smaller than any other region we have so far and overall feels a little bit more underwhelming compared to the others. Though it still executes on the sense of greeting you into the game.
I think with Inazuma they then tried out some of the more gacha aspects as a whole and experimented with how they wanted everything to continue. It felt more like an experiment to see how player reaction would be towards new regions and content.
After they succeeded with it there was basically no big competition except for their own IPs. Genshin became a big player and more than just an idea that profited from the pandemic. They built the game upon the base that wasn't expecting as many players as they were getting and so the feedback and community grew much faster than the game called fix stuff and the systems got much more complicated much more quicker than players and the developers likely intended. Looking at other competitors now, this means that genshin has a lot of missing quality of life features and only now again started to build upon story exploration and gameplay with a balanced approach and found its groove somewhere in the launch of Sumeru. This made this made that region pretty great to play, even though it also has a lot of shortcomings that I feel where fixed with starting Fontaine. They slowly learned to rework necessary systems and are currently in a phase of overhauling old content and rebalancing their game.
In general I totally agree with you and would even add that the game is actually a little bit worse than you rated it, but at the same time I can see how they started. With just the framework that was meant to attract players thez then ended up catching a fish so big that they didn't even knew how to use it all to its full potential. A lot of things feel quickly put together because they hastily had to react to the huge player base. Now that everything has come to a steady stream the seem to have a much Battle grip on the players needs, wishes and more time for the story and world building. At the same time the competition is right in the back ready to stab - and they do stab.
So right now we are in a phase where the game has to amend for all its growing pains and has to face a competition that was able to correct genshin's mistakes right from the start in a fresh system. Something that is much harder to fix and to correct and to communicate to the players once everything has been established already. So my expectation the basics of gunshine and the complexity learning curve characters and the hosystem assets on will like Lina change much going forward and the story will simply play out. But as we see with their newer titles and IPs, they are very knowledgeable about the issues genshin has made and it seems like they're going to fix those issues going in Games forward. Genshin is in some way or another simply a very successful experiment with a lot of ambition that was met with an even greater audience.
i think you shown a great point with the experimentation it was going for during lockdown, i keep forgetting this game was the first SUPER huge gacha game and has literally lead the way for every other title.
i think i rated it quite high possibly due to the fact im coming into the game with multiple huge dlcs, months worth of content to play through and look through and at a time where the entire com is hype af for natlan to drop. but yea i can defo see the point of it being rated lower than my 8.5 by just comparing genshin to different main stream gachas such as starrail, wuthering waves and even now we have zenless zone zero. if i had more experience in this gacha genre i could probably be more accurate but for right now its not a super bad take imo.
I mean ur points about Genshin resin cap and getting a 10% more luck is like all valid but you have to keep in mind that Genshin is a gatcha game, those scummy tactics are literary how the company makes money. It's like going into a casino and being like, "Hey, can I get 10% more prize money for showing up here everyday". I personally think if they lowered the price for primo gems, a lot more people would buy them (since getting 300 gems for like 5 bucks is just wild), but that also ties into the money making tactic of seeing how much people are actually willing to spend and so far ppl have been willing to spend a lot, so I doubt Mihoyo will be changing anything anytime soon to accommodate f2p
Yea I just read another comment like this and I totally get that , I was thinking from a player perspective totally neglecting the fact that this is a company who’s out to make money 🥹
the only one who gave gnosis for free was venti zhongli made contract with Tsaritsa Yae Miko saved us from Wanderer
the community is nice until you say that theire main isnt the best and they will tell you everything about your mom dad where were your grandparents buried and why and so on
there is a zone without anything its between sumeru and tea valley
I feel artifacts unlocking at ar 45 isn't a problem cause every enemy is weak
also I feel like you should be grateful for that artefact help menu it wasn't there since start also the resin cap was once 120 later they made it 160 and now its 200 also easier daily quests back then we did everything manualy (it wasn't fun just good memories)
they also refuse to be told that they shouldnt be attracted to the characters because 95% of them look 15 or younger, liking designs is okay but finding the character attractive is just weird and nobody seems to ever grasp it
there's currently 43 5* (with new one Emilia) and I dont think they will ever make that kind of crazy daily login system it won't break game but the amount of money they will lose is gonna be incredible
even if the would implement this kidn of system the amount of primogems from events and exploration will decrease significantly

Let Act 5 be its own video all in one sitting. Its literally about 4 hours on its own and i think you'll want to be nice and fresh, rested before you do it! As in emotionally ready 😁🫶

I think every country have a specific color. Liyue is rock yellow, Insume is Lighting purple, Semeru is Grass green, Fontain is water blue. Not sure about Wendst, it's a demo of all. Natland may be Fire red.
this vid is really good, I'm a relatively new player myself and this feels like a very good description of the starter experience. this guy seems like he'd be fun to play coop with or just talk to about the game, not many ppl in coop talk alot so its nice to see another person who likes chatting in coop instead of just battling 🙏 i hope you get more attention bc you definitely have a interesting perspective on the game

I just wanted to write down my review because i started playing genshin 3 months ago or in version 4.6. i will just make a list of + and -.
+Characters(genshin got lot of good characters)
+Combat(Genshin combat is fun, it isnt really that hard but it is fun)
+Cheer amount of content(Its free game so having like 600h of content is crazy.)
+Updates(As a someone that has only played shooter games getting an update every month is blessing)
+Events(Lot of events what is good)
+Artifacts(I love the luck element in artifact because it feels so good getting an crazy artifact)
+Story(Even thought it is slow sometimes its still pretty good and it only gets better when you get to Sumaru and Fontaine)
+Community(Everyone is so nice. Atleast ingame xD)
-Character reruns(I hate that if i miss or lose my 50/50 i have to wait like 1year for the next rerun. )
-Resin(Slows your progress lot, It should generate faster)
-Mora(i am constantly out of mora because talents cost arm and a leg and leveling up everything cost shit ton of mora)
-not having a skip button(idc about non voiced quests so it would be a blessing to have a skip button)
Rating 9/10. I am AR55 with 350h which maybe 50 are afk maybe less maybe more idk xD.
After/while watching video:
Collei is important because it allows you to do dendro related reactions, Bloom, Hyperbloom, burgeon etc. She is pretty good if you build her. I am new myself but team like dendro traveller, collei, barbara and lisa would be pretty cracked team. And i think the main roster of free characters is pretty decent and you really dont have to use them for too long because you get so many pulls just by playing the game. And Noelle being in beginner banner makes sense because she does everything shields, heals does damage what is good for beginners. And artifacts being locked behind Ar45 is good imo because i got to Ar35 or something in 1week or something like that so i was still clueless af. I only started understand artifacts around Ar40-Ar45 before that you dont really need artifacts. Gacha for me as a new player it takes me like 4-6h to get 10pull what isnt that bad (might be longer i havent really timed it). And for the weapon banner, i would only pull if both of the weapons are good and usable on many characters but thats it.
Good video and i agree with lot of the takes but not all. Definetly looking forward your next genshin video.
Yea I agree with you on most of that , I think I should have defiantly mentioned the updates tho as you’re so right , there’s so many updates and each one is actually decent.

7:54 I rlly agree with u on this part, I love interacting with other players, I've even made a friend that way. I'm ashamed and afraid of being that annoying person who just wants to talk, so I usually go into people's world and ask if I can get some material (to ascend characters) if they say yes, I go to the material's place but i don't pick it and start talking to the person, like, if they need help and such, which sometimes helps to develop a conversation, It's a stupid technique, but it makes me feel better :)

As a genshin veteran you sometimes forgot the troubles of early genshin since its been over 3 years 😂. But its nice to hear your opinion and kinda refreshing.
I can agree on almost all the points you make and looking back it was annoying. But i have enough more and Exp books to not have to worry about that and just farm bosses and talent materials for the character (and later artifacts).
Il be watching you, i like the tone of your voice, your way of editing. I hope you’ll keep enjoying genshin for as long as possible ❤

I’ve wanted to play genshin since release but I only got a pc this may which is why I’m starting now. So I’ll 100% be here till the end .
I usually am not a story person, I spam click through them. But Fontaine is the exception because it is so great. Furina is an amazing character and I think you’ll really enjoy that quest.

I don’t really like Inazuma main quest too.
When I first finished Inazuma archon quest and the MC walking out of the palace and meet the rebels I was like WTF just happened and how did they know that the Mc was here.
And then they release Ayato trailer which retcon and filling the gap here.
And for the quest with no voice… Ashikai got me covered 😂

About side quests, not all of them feel good but they are meant to sort of introduce areas to u and tell u about the world... Not all of them do it well but the ones that do feel like movies/novels x
Ps i also started this year and i relate to feeling behind and everyone expecting u to know about correct weapons etc and i also had to learned everything from outside sources..unfortunate but I learned not to expect too much for quality of life in genshin,this is sad but true i am not a hater
Weapon banner is such a ?? System. For me i played hsr and imagine my surprise when I learned their weapons cost less to get than a character (80 hard pity for a 5* weapon but on top of that its 75/25 chance u get the one ud like!!) ... They did it for hsr but not here...

I mean some side quests are pretty cool , like imo the dragonspine side quest where you’re fighting the frozen pigs and then some giant ahh pig comes charging at you 💀 that was pretty fun imo

ive personally been playing genshin for nearly 2 years and ive really wanted a cyno every single time without fail ive lost the 50/50 on his banner and i always lose to dehya

I'm at the start of the video and I feel the need to refute something. There is no game that can truly be "correctly" experienced. You are allowed to play ANY game however you want. Sure playing the game in an odd way and showcase it to others might frustrate some people but the most important thing is just enjoy yourself. Nothing else matters.

The only thing i can really say to a new player is.
Patience.
Because unlike alot of Doomer/Hater that nitpick and being bad faith in general.
The game in an 8/10 with minor issue that only really got highlighted because Genshin is the first Gacha to ton of people despite nealy all gacha have the same overall issue like Genshin does.
@@Aibadenshi I’ll still think the issues such as resin caps or fps are examples which we shouldn’t of had to wait longer than a genshin beta for . I think it’s pretty dumb capping resin at 120 I believe as from the start it should of been a minimum of 200 and then by now should be in the 300-400 area . Or at least in my opinion anyway
And with fps I don’t get why a game made in 2020 is 60 fps, I get it’s a mobile and tablet game n stuff but it has like 40% of the com on pc who can 100% go above 60 fps.
I think a few obvious changes would boost genshins score up BY ALOT
try keqing mains for guides on characters weapones and artifacts!!

the problem with resin is that they are selling it for money... you can replenish resin using primogems. If they gave you more resin, they would miss out on the people who're trying to build chars NOW.
I mean yea that’s very true , but I doubt even 25% of the com are paying ALOT of resin for every new character as most ( much like myself ) would see it as pointless since you can just wait abit or prep .

they are the best quests in the game with storytelling at the level of the archon quests and sometimes even higher

These quests have basically everything
• big lore drops
• memorable characters
• story lines
• exploration
• open air dungeons
• affect the surrounding world
the only thing these quests don't have is voice over

But if it’s just npcs wiggling about for 30 mins I’ll prolly skip

you are missing out on one of the best parts of the game by doing this they are the quests with the best storytelling and lore in the game
Have you ever heard of the Primordial one? of sovereigns? the unified civilization? the Celestial nails? the cycle of the world? the king of the desert? the memories of the world? all this lore is in the worldquests and they are incredible, you know Bran? one of his favorite quests to date is the desert worldquest

This Video while it is a great insight of a new players perspective, it contains to many "false/misleading" information. These do come from a lack of insight and knowledge which in itself isn't really bad as that would be the average new player experience but you still get a dislike for it.
Most of these errors are in the progression part. (and the really disturbing background gameplay)
