Happy Birthday Levy, thanks for being such a great instructor and content creator. You provide great information and lessons, create epic courses on Chessly, and produce enjoyable content for us to enjoy. Once again, happy birthday!
Been on a GothamChess binge lately and this is one of your best reviewed games imo. Was extremely helpful for learning tactics about laying pawns for example, or when to sacrifice, but also commentary on basics like the opening which I've never bothered to learn haha. You're making me appreciate the openings and you're crucially pointing out when players deviate from the mainlines and offering explanations which is sooooo helpful. That's what was missing for me and why my chess growth earlier in life was stunted
HBD, Levy. I know you said the average age of your viewers is 11, but I’m a 50-yo toxicology Ph.D. VP, and always make time to watch your videos and buy your courses. Thanks for all you do for Chess!
With three mistakes according to computer, I don't think there's any reason assuming he's cheating, while playing these crazy games. We should be thankful because he makes classical chess great again.
Yeah he's a chess genius all of a sudden. It doesn't matter how many mistakes he makes if there's a computer correcting them, obviously if he plays a flawless game people will get suspicious. The only relevant question is if there's electromagnetic communication jammers in the play hall, if there's not, it doesn't matter what he does
@@SrMway chess games could be played in a faraday’s cage, that would avoid any electronic communication from outside the cage, but yet, it’s not gonna stop a hidden computer on him to work locally, but without exterior help, cheating seems impossible (you need to input the move)

4:45 Levy that applies to both Italian AND Spanish games, not just Italian. Main difference is that with the Spanish the white bishop is usually on b3, c2, or a4. And apart from the Cordel Defense which is arguably a Spanish Giuoco Piano clone, Black's bishop is usually on e7 and often gets re-fianchetto'd after castling.
I think we all want this, I mean Magnus is for SURE way stronger but damn that would be dope to see Niemann bully him on the board again. that last loss hurt magnus so bad he threw an international conniption lol
Love this content! I really enjoy the teaching videos, but having Levy analyze even a high level game really helps me to see some of the simpler concepts and ideas to further my chess understanding. Keep it up!!
Perhaps the chess speaks for itself, and the player also speaks for himself. No conflict between these at all. Especially when the player isn't really talking about the details of the game. He's not talking chess. He's talking smack.
It's a great point that setting up a middle-board blockade as Hans did is a bit confusing. Stockfish (SF) thinks it's still losing. But stockfish's #1 talent is making passive improving positional moves. So basically SF says oh this position is still okay for black because you just make these really non-obvious positional defensive moves that a human can't see, and you're still safe. But when chess like this is played between humans, they don't evaluate 13 trillion positions per move as SF might. So in a realistic human game, the prediction should show far better outcomes for white (Hans). I think this is the next evolution for engines- to show a secondary analysis based on more human outcomes.
@@crowbar_the_rogue damn bro chess really is full of nerds. I gotta stop reading chess comments sections. Soon I'll be having strange cravings for polyester pants and orthopedic shoes, saying words like whoopsie-daisy and neato.
