      Flowers in the dirt, Get Back Tour, Off the ground, Paul is Live… Aprox from 1988 until 1993. Also Concert for Montserrat, Knebworth, etc. All his playing on those gigs and albums is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

      @@paufigueres my sister and I got to meet him with All the Pretenders in the 80’s We were in their backstage dressing room with them after the concert . Robbie let us in the concert we were so dirt poor and couldn’t afford tickets. He’s really nice . It’s so good to see him all these years later. His guitar playing with the Pretenders was powerful ! He went on to play with Paul McCartney ,, so happy for him because he truly deserved it . Musicians like Robbie are the backbone of the bands of these superstars

    Robbie picked up the pieces for The Pretenders after James Honeyman-Scott died. Their next album "Learning to Crawl" was their best with great guitar playing by Robbie, perfectly in style with The Pretenders. Love Robbie's work with The Pretenders.

    Such a great player, and a really great video. Hopefully he'll add a few more dates to the shows that he's doing this summer, as I'd love to go and see him play live.

      agreed, Tim has been very amicable with people on youtube inside and outside the videos. I ve just learned of Robbie so I will believe until proven otherwise that he too, is approachable on you tube. These are great folks in general I think

    • @northof50now
      @northof50now 7 років тому

      Tim has the unique and envious ability to make those with whom he speaks feel as important or more than himself. I'm certain his success is a result of it in combination with his playing ability.

    When I used to sell guitars (and at the time I was selling tons of Martins, Taylors, and other well known brands), we finally got a handful of the best selling Collings models. It was such a big homecoming. The first time I held one, the flagship model, I was so disappointed by how terrible it felt. The gloss was so thick on everything including the back of the neck. Even for a new guitar it felt so un-settled-in and needed serious playing to open up. I had to hide my strong feelings because people were so excited to come play them. Every single one we got in was so underwhelming. I'm glad people enjoy them so much. I am the minority.

      Thanasi Manoli the best ones I've played were used, with a little time for the wood to open up. I was in dusty strings, a shop in seattle, and there was the Collings version of a j-200, and I just fell in love instantly. best guitar I've ever played, period, and I'm a fan of the boutique brands and older guitars. I kick myself because I had just finished halibut longlining, and I had the money and was on the way back north to fish salmon-so I had the scratch, but I hesitated. thought about it, went back in a few days later, and it was gonzo. missed it. But since, I haven't played many I liked. I hope they get it together like these higher end models, because I know what they can do. And as soon as they can replicate my Taylor....... :-)

      Thanasi Manoli. You don't know what you're talking about. Collings guitars are up there with the very best, if not the best when it comes to fit and finish. Everybody who knows anything about guitars knows that.
      Except you apparently.
      If you'd said you didn't like the sound or the look or the price, that would be fair comment, but to criticise their build quality or finish only shows how little you know about guitars, if you know anything at all.
      If you hadn't made that post, no one would have known you were an idiot.
      You're a fantasist.

      Thanasi Manoli I felt the same. OM2 I bought a David Webber, for the same money. Much better

      I can’t believe you took the time to write all that. You are literally criticizing me because of my honest opinions of playing these guitars myself. My opinions are wrong? Did I say they are crap and no one should buy them? Did I say they are garbage? You clearly don’t know how to read English. Read my comment again. Maybe a few times. The only thing you put across is your overall level of immaturity. Please share more of it with the world. Lol
