Ruby Gillman, Teenage Kraken (2023) Final Battle with healthbars

- Plot:
Ruby succeeds in retrieving the Trident of Oceanus but is betrayed by Chelsea, who reveals that she is Nerissa and that she escaped her imprisonment to manipulate a Kraken into helping her claim the trident in order to exact her revenge on the Kraken Kingdom. Nerissa sheds her disguise, trapping Ruby before going to destroy Oceanside.
Agatha and Grandmamah try to fight her off while Ruby goes to the surface to stop Nerissa. Nerissa overpowers Grandmamah and Agatha but is confronted by Ruby, who engages her in a duel over the trident. Nerissa gains the upper hand, but Ruby disarms her, realizing that the Trident can be destroyed with enough power. Ruby attempts to reason with Nerissa to no avail, so the trio combine their laser eyes to destroy the trident together, defeating Nerissa and shrinking her down to her normal size, where Gordon cages her.

Crazy what they did with a $70 million budget, this film was visually stunning. It’s a shame it bombed because I saw it myself and loved it. Let’s hope a sequel happens.
Because there was no marketing for Ruby Gillman before it was released, the movie struggled at the box office. Also, the trailers essentially spoiled major aspects of the film. If DreamWorks ever decided to create a sequel, we'd be lucky enough.
@@CaseyAlhambra Kirk DeMicco and Ruby Gillman’s voice actress, Lana Condor, have stated their desires to make a sequel, and the film has accumulated quite a surprising fanbase, so it’s entirely possible. The film is still making money as well (somehow).
Apparently it’s done extremely well on streaming, and movies have been saved by that, so a sequel seems even more likely now.

I like how Ruby holds her own against Nerissa unlike Agatha and Grandmahmah. She was truly was next in line to take over as the Kraken queen.
The fact she was stabbed but didn’t suffer any wounds is crazy

Enough! Nerisa is the villain from Ruby Gilman the Kraken Teenager movie, and Narissa is a Blackpink member. Yes, those names sound same, but the meaning and persons are different!

Ruby Gillman is such a underrated movie and the final bartle is one of the best in any Dreamworks movie!
Nerissa shouldn't have said "You'll never get this away from me!" those words alone gave the Gillmans the idea to destroy the Trident using their laser eyes
Mermaids don’t age? I thought mermaids were said to only live for 300-500 years. I read about that in lots of mythology books
Depends on the universe. Here, mermaids are basically immortal babies with delusions of grandure or something.

It makes me sad that this movie bombed the box office. Dreamworks did a fantastic job on this. I know Disney and Sony put up a fight against Ruby Gillman with Elemental and Across the Spider Verse which both became box office successes but Dreamworks shouldn’t give up
The film's director and Ruby's actor have expressed an interest in doing more sequels, so we may see a second film in the future.

Nerissa is like a kaiju and ruby gillman is a Jaegar. If you don't know what it is, it's a giant robot built by man to fight the kaijus in that movie.

I'm not gonna lie, but Nerissa in her true form looks pretty creepy to me. Plus, the use of pop music for the first few minutes of this battle feels unfitting for this kind of situation.

I will give this movie a 6/10 not beacuse it had a girl protagonist but beacuse the jokes weren’t really funny , and the plot was a little bit like turning red underwater, and the movie had less advertisements but hey at least ruby isn’t a perv or twerks at her mom, but the good parts I can say about this movie is they made fun of Disney’s Ariel and I will give them more credit for making an original movie. (Note) please do not get mad about me this whole comment is just my opinion on the movie

Movies where parents are overprotective are good lessons for real life. The consequences are real.
The downside to these movies are that they always have happy endings. Real life isn't always like that. Being overprotective can ruin lives. It can cause mental damage that never goes away.
Be protective. Don't be overprotective.
