I strongly suspect house sparrows are the reason I see less and less chickadees and tree swallows in my area. Sad that this is probably happening on a large and people do not realize
I've had two successful years of bluebirds and tree swallows having broods. This spring I built my first house Sparrow trap. Set it up this morning. Wish me luck😊
I just caught 7 today! First time I ever caught more than one sparrow in a single day and I’ve had an elevator trap for over almost 2 years now. I got lucky, Momma went in first and the fledglings followed. 3 males and 3 females.
People just don’t know until they experience it or we teach them. Anyone that tells you it’s just nature.. tell them so are roaches and bedbugs and we don’t let them ruin our life’s 💥
Feeding almost any bird just bread will slowly kill it due to it missing nutrition. I found a baby one of these guys 2 years ago (I still have him as a pet) and understand the need to get rid of them, but please just kill them quickly. These birds live around 15 years in captivity, so if they are dying in those cages fast it mean they are starving to death slowly. They are pests, but they feel pain and can suffer. Please just find a way to kill them quick rather than this.
I feed them white millet. You got to keep some alive if you want to keep catching more of them that's just the way it is. I'm not going to have these things harassing the bluebirds and tree swallows in the purple martins and everything else I have nesting here
I love your videos. Just got into purple martins
I honestly pictured myself cutting a lot more and both wings 😅
Well said man up and protect the native birds
Would love watch that trap in action brother !

repeaters only work well if you have live birds in the trap
I get sparrows are invasive but what do you do after you clip their wings? sell them to people who rehab raptors?
oh a lure, wow.!
Thank you!

I would like them to become hawk food easily. How can I diminish their ability to fly completely?
Clip both of their wings they won't be around long when they can't fly
