It's more than obvious that Paul Mario Day LOVES this song and Iron Maiden and he is an important part of their history. Steve must take this man back at least for some guesr performances.
And I was there when he sang it. He even bellowed out my name in the pub. Let me explain. First off my name isn't "Wrath Child". I went into the Cart and Horses Stratford in the 70s. Can't remember the actual year sorry. This rather loud, rather good, metal band was playing in the corner. I ordered my shandy ( don't drink and drive kids) and suddenly the singer, Paul Day shouted out my name. He recognised me from our school day's. He was a great lad a real pleasure to know. It's great seeing him now too, especially as I haven't seen him since that day in the Cart and Horses.
I wish I was alive back then. How similar were Terry Rance and David Sullivan at guitar to Dave Murray and Dennis/Adrian? I do know the song Iron Maiden had a similar predecessor in Gypsys Kiss called Influence because it was rerecorded
@@jimmyneut2702 I have no idea. The only band member I knew was Paul Mario Day. Nobody knew back then just how big Maiden were to become. NOBODY. They were just another random pub band earning 15 quid a night.
@@jimmyneut2702 I belive so. "Metal" by 1976 was about 6 or 7 years old. Started by Deep purple and Black Sabbath, and such like. I never actually went to my first gig till around the 80s. Deep Purple. Saw Maiden at Wembley in 1988. Then over the years, more Purple. White Snake. Rainbow. Alice Cooper. Magnum. Then as I got older I started worrying about my hearing so stopped going😔
@@jimmyneut2702 LOL no. I only went around with Paul Dianno and Steve (loopy) Newhouse. He became Maidens drum tech up until 1984. In1990 Clive Burr came to my uncles funeraI. My uncle also had a pub band. They knew each other. I knew Paul Day from school only. We lost touch when we left school. I only saw Maiden twice. Cart and Horses and Wembley Arena.
Watched this with a view to being sceptical, but jeezus he can sing - sounds just as good, if not better live than Bruce Bruce himself ! Brilliant performance !
nice one great vocalist paul maiden got rid of him as he had no stage presence he said I didn't know what it was lol he sang with the reformed sweet in 1985.check out sweets live at marquee album he.s on top form there
Just found out about this dude. Been an Iron Maiden fan since my Dad bought "Number of the Beast" when I was 4, but always thought Paul D'Anno was original singer. Very glad this is out there. I would love to here his take on other Maiden songs. This guy kicks ass.
And his name isn't actually "Dianno". It's Paul Taylor. I knew him from way back when in Leyton East London. Paul Mario Day too and Steve Loopy Newhouse. All great lads!!
Sings a lot better than I expected .(No offence), but I wonder if he sang it thus way back in the day? It sounds influenced by latter versions, v vocally.
Nailed it!!! And his voice is in great shape. I'd love to see him as guest with Maiden on a big stage and full production! Is that Terry Wapram left on guitar?
Apparently, he was booted from Iron Maiden as he lacked stage prescence and charisma. Maybe times have changed, but he seems a great frontman to me and with a great voice too
I'm surprised; I always thought that Paul Di'Anno was Maiden's first vocalist. Paul Mario Day sings even better than Paul Di'Anno and just as well as Bruce 😮✨👍
I consider myself to be very lucky, I was there. What a gig!
I like Paul Day, top dollar!! He really does have a great voice!!!
Great playing and singing of a metal classic!

he should sing in British Lionp
Este cara canta de mais
That was unexpectedly amazing!

3 iron maiden singers have Paul in the name. Bruce's first name is also Paul
Paul Day, Paul Di'anno, Paul Bruce Dickinson, Paul Dennis Willcok, Paul Blaze Bayley hahahaha

Wow! This band rocks!
Paul sounded great!
Who said Paul Day doesn't have stage performance?

Up the irons !!!!! Congratulations.
Great vocal
More Warhead. Absolute classic album. Great vocalist.
Grande vocalista
He was brilliant in his band wildfire as well 🤘
Good stuff. Terry Wapram on guitar too
If Bruce Dickinson ever decides to leave Maiden again, Paul Day should be a strong replacement.
Back To Origins
Wow Paul!

I don’t wish it but if Bruce backs out again they should 💯 bring Paul Day back.

fun fact: Paul Mario Day is the only ex Iron Maiden singer who hasn't gone bald xD
Should Dickinson ever quit Maiden for whatever reason they should consider rehiring this guy. He's still got quite the pipes.
its pretty clear who's song this is!
Great stuff up the IRONS
Dang. Pretty good.
Muito bom!

He sound exactly like back in the day with his band like More and Wildfire.

Love Paul. His follow up band Wildfire were a decent band

I am looking but can't fins buy old footage with Paul Mario Day and Maiden :(
He sounds so damn good. The other musicians also aren't bad all. Yngwie should hire musicians of this caliber and take lessons from Paul.
gtamaniak2145 Terry Wapram on Guitar.....original Maiden member.....!

Terry Rance en guitarra????
How'd he ever get fired in the first place? He's not Bruce but hes literally miles ahead of Blaze, damn good vocal range

Lol omg
No Mario day was the 1st Paul Diano followed after Dennis Willcox
No
I said No not about who was first but he isn’t as good as Dianno and doesn’t come close to Bruce that’s why I said no
I said no that he is isnt as good as bruce and better than Dianno him and Dennis where worst singers Maiden had and they weren’t signed to record deal
Paul Day should have replaced Bruce in 1993 instead Blaze…
He record somthink with iron maiden
😁😎💣🤘
Paul Mario should have been Bruce's replacement instead of Bayley lol.
Man can actually sing lol 'no stage presence' my arse why they sack him when they did?
They were clearly to young or nieve to tell Paul day is badass.. jealousy runs deep in bands to so who knows it was 40+years ago
