Good job . You should consider pruning those pear trees. My neighbour has a cherry tree. It has gone wild, tons of flowers very few cherries👍👍👍Thank you for sharing. Take care of yourself, be safe, and healthy 🇨🇦
Thank you yeah the dogs got into some dirt trying to find the cool soil. It’s been pretty hot here lately which shouldn’t start until July. I’ll take the sun over the snow any day. 😆 ☀️
There are classes, usually at the Extension office, on Grafting apple and/or fruit trees. You could graft your Apple trees. You can also graft pear trees. That way you could save the OLD varieties that you have. They have survived many years without sprays and pruning. GOD bless
Looks like what I did 34 years ago. I did not prune them enough when I was working and got rid them. Its only me and my wife now and there is an orchard across the road. Good luck my honey Locust is 50 feet tall now.
Yeah they’ll need to be pruned to keep them in check otherwise they’ll dwarf the trees. You had the right idea way back then eh Dave even before permaculture was a thing.
Always love what you have going on. Thanks for sharing. Becky from Kansas City
Oh yeah my list of things to do never seems to get shorter…I keep adding to it. 😝

Pruning that pear is on my list for two years now 😆 gotta get it done in the fall this year.
I love watching you grow your farm stay. Looks like Molly and Olive had a grand time playing in the dirt somewhere.

Yes I think I may try my hand at grafting that way the fruit can be tree to that variety.

Might have been Rabbits that ate the bark on your Apple tree. They are notorious for it.
Possible for sure.
