I may be going off the subject slightly here , but when Roxy Music appeared on TOTP in 1972 singing Virginia Plain , they were avantgarde, but them within a few years , massive
I guess Can established Krautrock. Awesome band! That's where I have started with Krautrock. Then came Ashra Temple, Amon Duul, Faust, Agitation Free, Guru Guru... Still Krautrock is one of my favourite trends in progressive rock.
Yeah Can was about the first one though they were all playing just more just forming and developing. They all started appearing around 1970-71 and just starting forming new bands. A great time for music. I couldn't give a timeline but I believe CAN was the first or known as Inner Space.
@@frankerics3309 It's interesting, I couldn't figure out for a while what this song reminded me of, but then I realized that it sounds somewhat similar to 'On the Roof of the World' by Cul de Sac. After reading the band's biography, I was pleasantly surprised to learn that they collaborated with Can :D
@@MuTaToR32 Yeah Can have influenced and had fans from quite a few different types of musicians. They have had changes and different periods and sounds that influenced a wide range. They aren't fake and people like that. They play what they feel and just record it. That's wins people over with that honesty.
Can were never main stream ,rather avantgarde but remember they appeared on TOTP in 1976 , watching the old TOTP on BBC4
Yes never mainstream but they had their time. The were able to have a career so they did something right.
