- The demons of 'Sweeney Todd' literally came to life in a high school production of the musical when two students were hurt on opening night. A prop razor used in one of the throat slitting scenes apparently cut their necks during the performance. The head of the school told New Zealand's ONE News the razor which you'd expect to be used in Sweeney Todd had been checked numerous times. The actors were taken to the hospital but have since been released. The second performance was canceled. #InsideEdition

This literally happened to my dad in high school!! It was Romeo and Juliet and it was a stab scene and he got stabbed for real bad had to go to the hospital right after scene. Made it back for the bows though!!

Just because they thought of that show when this comes up seems nothing?? Its just what they thought of first. I’ve seen this happen in numerous shows myself but I remembered monk first. Doesn’t equal my age or anything. That’s literally just one of the shows that had that scene happened pop into their mind LMFAOO.
I was in theater back in highscool. No way my teacher would’ve actually had a sharp object of any kind for the shaving. I mean come on. Just use an empty razor or plastic knife because it’s pretend and they’re children!
Seriously, could they not have just got a ruler (like everyone is suggesting) & then spray-paint it silver to look even somewhat like the real thing?? They should put the safety of their students first & not take risks with a real razor (no matter how blunt they feel it is; & all for the sake of show-business), because even blunt instruments/tools can be hazardous with the right amount of pressure... >=o/

we did sweeney todd at my high school, and i just can’t imagine this happening. the actors playing sweeny got really into their roles but we had fake blood set up for the actors everywhere. i forgot if they used real blades though.
but for our final show caught on fire (it was a small fire though) and ended up finishing the second act.
The school in this news thing is my school I find that weird and now I’m scared to go to school tomorrow
