We have been on this line, but only a short way, after a few minutes we changed trains and we took the R2 to the South to Villanova I la Geltru. Very convenient from the airport to our vacation address.
4:00 that grey platform you're walking on used to be another track, but it was covered like 3 years ago.
5:50 you can actually see one power outlet next to the door. But not very useful if you want to be seated tho, they are only next to the doors.
I think that they're probably for the cleaners.
That’s right, for the cleaners. But i case of emergency you can use it for a quick recharge, it works.
Awesome. Thanks for the video
Civia Serie 465 not 375, btw, the Civia of the video it is made by Alstom, like the ones in Malaga, Cadiz and Valencia. the ones made by CAF are located in Madrid and Asturias
4:20 Catalonia is not a province, Catalonia is an autonomous community and it's provinces are Barcelona, Tarragona, Lleida and Girona.
Are you sure you measured the Aerobús time correctly and don’t confuse it with the time for the number 46 TMB bus? That does take over 40 mins (for a single price 2.40), but the aerobús takes 25 mins or so, and leaves you in Plaça Catalunya. Definitely the quickest from T1, until the train arrives.
Also, a single from T2 on Rodalies is 2.40, not the price you gave, which is for a metro ticket.
Finally, both the Rodalies and 46 bus fares (but NOT the metro, or aerobús) can be used with a regular T-Casual ticket, which is 10 journeys for 11.35€, and this is generally the cheapest option if you are spending a few days in Barcelona on a visit.
With Moof on all of this. T-Casual (used to be T-10) best bet for travel in city and also from airport if you don't mind waiting a short while for bus or train (used the 46 a lot when staying close to Paral-lel). Metro line means at least one change to get anywhere central (until the supposed extension). And if you are staying sea end of Gothic Quarter or La Ribera (known more as Borne) a simple change at Passeig de Gracia on airport train gets you to Estacio de Franca.
Yet some mistakes here: You can NOT use your T-Casual nor the Metro ticket from the T2 (it does Not open the doors to the platform).
@@danigonzalez4299 you can use T-Casual on Rodalies and Bus. But not Metro.
Single Renfe ticket is 4.60 €, T-Casual card (1 zone) is not allowed to travel to the L9 Metro Airport T1&T2 (except for workers, that use T-Casual for Airport Workers) Here is the link in english with the info rodalies.gencat.cat/en/tarifes/servei_rodalia_barcelona/servei_integrat_atm/
@@xavierfolch4802 Yep, your link confirms only can't be used on the metro. Train still fine.
Simply Railway = Simply Amazing🤩💯
Great video! And can you make also a trip on Madrid?
One fast like 4 ur work!!
Nice trip report
Amazing
Thanks for video, we're going to Barca in May and need to travel from Bcn T2 to Passaig de Gracia.
Bom vídeo excelente parabéns
Moito lindo tren simply boa viagem ai vai show
good job video barcelona
the aeroport station used to be double tracked until some years ago
Cool video Goldenpass first claas "driver view" vip ride please👍🏻👌🏼
It’s so funny when u said there is a ghost on the train that does not want ur toilets time lol
Can you review metra in Chicago? Your vids are great!
Can u do bonn to meckenheim germany? 1st btw
You can use the rodalies from barcelona to latour de Carol (in France), that's interesting
Sorry that you were riding in the dark, the views from this train are amazing.
(Also I want to join to other comments that say that, unfortunately, Aerobus is really more convenient. Let's hope a new straighter line and T1 connection will fix this)
I'm sure it was :)
Another great video. However, Catalonia is not a province but an autonomous community. The four provinces of Catalonia are Barcelona, Girona, Lleida and Tarragona. It's a double layer system similar to that in your native France where you have regions and provinces.
Catalonia would be a French "Région" with 4 "départements" (4 "provincias" in Spanish)
@@alfrredd You’re making no sense at all in what you’re saying.
@@EurobazzI fixed it
Région = Comunidad Autónoma (also called región)
Département = Provincia
Commune = Municipio/Localidad
The station used to have two tracks back in 2014
The new corcovado coc railway in brazil would be badass😊 or as you say train de cremaliere
The traction sound of those Civia (and by extension, a generation of Alstom X'Trapolis) trains has to be one of my favorite ones ever. So cool.
At 8:32, seen the wheelchair exit the train, how do disable people get in the train with that large step up?
There are power outlets! you can see them on 5:53 right besides the door
there is one for every door iirc
not on every door, just the door at the front and the door at the back of the train, it's for the cleaners to plug the vacuum cleaner
A few helpful tips
As mentioned by a f few people you can use an integrated ATM (l'Autoritat del Transport Metropolità) card which works on all public transport means in the Barcelona area (with the exception of the basic cards with the airport metro stations). Wach ride with an integrated card includes changes (up to 3) to different transport means. The airport is in zone 1 (like Barcelona and quite a few of the sounding cities) so it's the cheapest way in most cases. The T-Casual is 11.35€ for 10 rides, it replaced the T-10 card but they took away the option to share it. After protests the added the T-Familiar card which is 8 rides for 10€ and can be shared. so unless you're taking a one way trip alone to the city one of those card will cost less. The T-Casual is valid until the end of February of the following year and the T-Familiar for 30 days from first use.
If you have a ticket for an AVE/Long Distance train you can ride the Rodalies/Cercanías for free to/from the origin/end of your train (4h before departure and 4h after arrival). On you card you'll have a code (combo Cercanías) that you can use at the machines to get the local ride ticket.
The Aerobús takes less than 42 minutes. I use it all the time as I have a stop near my house and it usually takes me around 30 minutes.
The regular bus (46 to Pl.Espanya during the day or the night buses, N16/N17/N18 to Pl. Catalunya) also work with those cards (you cannot buy on on the bus but you might find a place to buy one at the terminal, in the past the past the Tabaco stand in the T1 arrival hall sold ATM tickets).
On the bus you can only get a single ticket (not now, due to Covid19, on the TMB buses, like the 46 bus, you can buy one through their app after registration scanning the barcode one the bus - I don't think other operators offer such a service (like on the night buses that are operated by Baixbus).
For the train you can bus a single ticket from the machine but it is expensive as single tickets are not part of the integrated system and on Rodalies the airport is in zone 4, not zone one (like it is on the integrted system), that's why it's 4.60€ (a single for one zone is 2.40€ which is what it will cost on regular buses from the airport to Barcelona - when you can buy one).
The metro does not reach the city center and with the require change it's a long trip (around 1h) so for most it's not worthwhile at all. It also has a special expensive fare (5.15€) so unless you have no other choice and it has a stop near your destination do not use it.
Single tickets do not include transfers, unless it's inside a closed system (so you can change in Sants from the airport train to a different Rodalies line, like one that stops at Pl. Catalunay or Arc de Traiomf or between metro lines, as long you're change is without going out of the system).
As mentioned, the airport trains station had two tracks but it was covered as there was no need for it, since the connection only has one track. The new shorter line which will have a new station in T2 and will be connected to T1 will have a double track connection.
As for the airport line, it is R2nord which is important as there two other R2 lines, R2 that ends at Castelldefels main station (it does not reach the Platja Castelldefels station) and the R2sud that ends in Sant Vicenç de Calders - both of them do not reach the airport.
You should review the FGC trains when you come back to Barcelona. Those trains are much better and offer connections to the city center but also to the insides of Catalonia. Give them a try!
You can buy the 10-trip ticket, for the price of € 10.20 this allows you to use it to go to the center, for only € 1.02 and the following 9 tickets can be used using the metro, the following days you spend in barcelona.
can theses tickets be used on the train and metro in barcelona?can you catch the train elsewhere with theses tickets ?
Best and cheapest option is Bus nº 46, it goes to Plaza Espanya using regular tickets.
The old connection (made of concrete and painted white and red, as the commuter)

When I was a child, there were rolling platforms in the connnection, and also there were two! tracks in the station. Note that floors are different, due to a temporary (now permanent) structure that covers the second track...
Check it on this page scrolling down, to look for old photos.

Favourite www.trenscat.com owned by Bernat Borras, the best website for trains in Catalonia.
Lo más barato es coger el bus, da un huevo de vueltas pero es lo más cheaper
Passeig de Gracia has the longest platforms I've ever seen for an underground train station. Hate also the infinite tunnel which connects to L3 😑
We want to see simply railway covering Indian railways. You ll definitely enjoy thr feel of Indian trains.
If do you wanna go from Aeroport del Prat to Barcelona, grab the metro L9 and change to the L1 at Torrassa, L5 at Collblanc or L3 at Zona Universitària, it cost a little bit more but the service is much better ;)
If you use a T-Casual (former T-10, a multi trip card) becomes four times cheaper. Despite being cheap compared to other major cities, single tickets to Barcelona airport are still a tourist trap.
Did you have any issues recording this report? Security guards in Spanish Railways are well known for their rudeness, most of them won't allow you to take pics or videos, but there are only making their own rules. If you go to the ADIF website says clearly you can, indeed!
i already been there and there will be a new station...
Rodiales isn’t the only one. Someone else runs the standard gauge and meter gauge lines.
I think its a useful video but please remember:
- AeroBus goes to each Terminal (T1 and T2) with independent buses. They pass every 5-10 minutes and took 15-20 minutes to get to the Terminal. For a little bit more you get way faster to the place. Also the Aerobus stops at the main spots in the city (Plaça Espanya, and Plaça Catalunya and some other along the way. so its way more useful).
- Rodalies usually goes late. Usually brokes down, and it only comes every 30' so if you miss one, you are screwed.
- Price: From the T2 yes you have to pay 4,60 euros. The metro ticket does not work there. For the other ride (city to T2) you can use your already existing Metro Ticket (T-10 or now renamed T-Casual multiple trips ticket helps out).
How is the new station at T1 progressing?
I went there yesterday to the airport, for T1 going to T2 in order to catch the Rodalies is so damn inconvenient - I rode the entire L9S and changed there to a bus in order to get to my destination quicker
Also, T-Casual is valid for Rodalies in the airport, quite handy if you are doing several trips around Barcelona!
there are power outlets next to the doors
I remember we paid an arm and a leg to make this trip by taxi.
Cost of this trip is even cheaper if you buy a T-Casual ticket (previously known as T-10 ticket) for 10 trips for €11. So for only €1,10 you can go to Sants and change to metro and go anywhere else within a city. All trip for €1,10.
Cheap yes but convienant not really. I live here and took it twice, spent 3 times as much time and was overcrowded with people. Uncomfortable. I always take the aerobus and then connect to metro, quicker, cleaner, spacious and not expensive IMHO. Each to their own i suppose
Ah... The only time that Rodalies beats Metro...
To move within Barcelona, avoid Rodalies like the plague though 🤣
E entrao ha ber el rulo de la portada y no sale nada menua stafa
That seat is harder than my sofa
Catalonia isn't a province. It's an autonomous region
But for now (up to 2022, they are still constructing the Railway) You can't take the Train on Terminal T-1 , only in Terminal T-2...
Just wondering, but do you ever feel awkward being seen walking with a recording phone into a toilet? haha
Renfe; not on time most of the times i had to use their services lol :D
Renfe AVE trains have always been exactly on time for me. Cercanías is more of a hit or miss.
Rodalies RENFE has got the worst service in Catalonia, better the bus, FGC or the metro.
@@transportsdecatalunya3303 For sure; sometimes their trains didn't even show up :D Love the region though!
Almost 5€ isn't that cheap, when I had a stopover in Barcelona in february it costed me 5€ to get two subway stations away to an hostel for the night, thankfully the return was free with the hostel minibus otherwise I would have ended paying more for a short subway trip than for the hostel night....
There's no train on T1! Only T2. So going on a train is not the most convenient way, is just one more option available!
The T1 Renfe station is being built. T1 will eventually have Renfe access.
The Civia has powershockets, there are next at the door, yeah the people sits in the doors (floor) *sorry for my bad English, i'm from barcelona XD*
3:03 wtf there are even tags on the train of the ads !? Dafuq ?" (Bottom left)
I was about to comment that, seriously graffiti is a big issue in Spain, specialy in Barcelona.
Luckily that's not the case. That banner is part of a guerrilla marketing campaign by Barcelona's Metropolitan Transport Authority that's meant to raise awareness on the importance of fighting things like such tags, if you look at it closely you'll appreciate how the tags look quite artificial and meaningless, more than the usual at least.
The campaign's motto is (catalan) "És vandalisme. És inacceptable", which not surprisingly translates to "It's vandalism. It's unacceptable". Here's an image that clearly showcases what they were trying to do with the campaign:
pbs.twimg.com/media/EKS_pQMWoAYqXoE?format=jpg&name=medium
That's the biggest analogic clock at Plaça Catalunya Station, one of the most important commuter hubs in Barcelona, so it's not a small deal.
The subtitle in the image, that's also meant to look vandalized, translates to "Vandalic acts in public transportation HAVE A VERY HIGH PRICE!"
@@FlavioCJM Oh okay, many thanks for this information !
@@FlavioCJM Meanwhile Singapore probably be like: & that's why you need corporal punishment
Every Civia (rodalies) is made from Alstom.
It's neither cheapest nor most convinient 😜
Yes, but watch your bags especially if you switch to the metro. Pickpockets are many and everywhere. If you have a backpack/daypack, where it on your front. I’m serious!

Xanti the Maltese
Rodailes trains are always dirty and with grafiti, very sad

@@lzh4950 yeah, here in spain criminals are under punished
Is not accurate info, before choosing one transport system subway, train, bus, think about where are you going to stay, is nonse to to to plaça Catalunya if your hotel/place isn't nearby, it will take double time, and probably subway will let you better commuting, plus from T1 you need to go to T2 by free shuttle, to reach the train, another 15/20-min and the commuting time, check staying place location before getting a transport system and remember all subway coverage area is ZONE-1 and a Casual ticket gives you multiple 1,15h commuting time among subway-rodalies trains-buses-cattrains_tramways.
Hi there, we love your video and we have shared it on our facebook page:

Apparently, Barcelona is not fully prepared to receive tourists properly
EDDIE DAWKINS explain?
@@s125ishI mean the train, it has a lot of defects, you can't go to the toilet to lock the door because you wake up with someone else over you
@@eddiedawkinskingofuniverse 1: that was one door of that specific car, the trains has several bathrooms. 2: you wake up with someone?? do you usually sleep in a bathroom of a commuter train?
@@alfrredd Compared to the trains from France TGV or Germany ICE the Spaniards have to learn lessons in good manners, in Barcelona I met only bad and racist people, I am a local guide for GOOGLE MAPS
@@eddiedawkinskingofuniverse You are comparing two different systems, commuter trains and long distance high speed trains. Renfe AVE is the spanish equivalent for the TGV and ICE, people there are well manered and polite, moslty business travelers. Good service, great trains. On Commuter trains and the metro you can find all kinds of people, some are rude but they are mostly ok; I have been to the Paris and London metro and the people you find there, wow, it´s much worse than in Spain.
CHEAP - BARCELONA - HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
I can see almost nobody is wearing mask, so sad. It's the reason why the new cases are rising again.
