I don't have words to express the joy I feel seeing your work! Cicadas are special to me too. When my son was little he was fascinated by them. He used to pretend his sleeping bag was a coocoon and he would come out and fly around. He passed away at age 38 and this is a sweet memory. Thank you. love you and your work!

Of course we all love dragonflies, as a child we spent a summer or two in Ok.My brother collected bugs and butterflies . CICADAS were prominent. One summer I will never forget, my brother getting larva and in a jar with stems we watched in fascination as the Cicadas emerged, plumped and dryed to flight. Yes i love and appreciate your Cicadas, thank you for sharing.

I LOVE clear lucite. Some of my favorites. It’s nice to hear other people who “pay up” for things. Some people act like they never spend over $20 for anything. Sometimes we get lucky but sometimes we pay a lot.

Artists often need to let their ideas “marinate” as they work through their concept to completed piece. What a great word to use to express the process! Loved the carrot necklace! As a teenager, I worked for an antique jeweler, Selma Dublin, in The Village in Manhattan. She would occasionally have someone come in looking for a “large” diamond ring. She would take out a large, antique ring box, open it with a flourish, and show a ring created from 5 orange carrots, and say, “Is this what you are looking for?” The client would either laugh and proceed to look at what the jeweler DID have, look embarrassed or get annoyed and leave. Selma would always say she wasn’t concerned about the client who left without looking at her offerings because that person would not become part of her devoted clientele - and she had MANY! I learned a great deal from her about antique jewelry and about people.

Thank you for sharing these pieces Jason. They show an arc of your exploration as well as your inspiration. The bangles are quite unique in the way they play with the juxtaposition of the stones on one side and their settings on the reverse, the pattern is always in motion, and quite complex for the seeming simplicity. Your whimsy is delightful, and letting yourself go “overboard” is a good thing to play with. The dragonfly and moldavite is stunning, so beautifully executed (I can see why you are careful about when you wear it) magnificent specimen of the stone. The 15 carat necklace is too much fun, I appreciate your use of found objects with your own crafted ones, it’s a great balance. The cicadas are so beautiful, I still have a discarded shell of one in my Goddess bowl. It hurts to see the broken wings on the green one, but the black shows the power you put in them. I’m sorry for the loss connected to it, but it was loved…of that I am sure. I used to tell people I wanted to be Rene Lalique when I grew up (if I ever do). Love and light dear man.💖🕯🖤🇨🇦

Those Cicada brooch's are beautiful, sorry the green one broke. I used to catch Cicadas too, in the area of NE Tx., were I lived you could find 4 sizes of them. Largest was rare black, then brown, the most common green, an a very rare super tiny black one. I love your creation of them in flight. But being a bit of a chicken, If I could have made that, I would have made it with its wings a bit more folded, like they are when they sit on a tree. But I'm far from an Artist, so I'll leave that up to people like you. Love your creativity, its really refreshing. PS. I really like the way you made the eyes. Inset w/ silver an the stone of your choosing. It makes the eyes really look at you. :~)

Those Cicada brooch's are beautiful, sorry the green one broke. I used to catch Cicadas too, in the area of NE Tx., were I lived you could find 4 sizes of them. Largest was rare black, then brown, the most common green, an a very rare super tiny black one. I love your creation of them in flight. But being a bit of a chicken, If I could have made that, I would have made it with its wings a bit more folded, like they are when they sit on a tree. But I'm far from an Artist, so I'll leave that up to people like you. Love your creativity, its really refreshing. PS. I really like the way you made the eyes. Inset w/ silver an the stone of your choosing. It makes the eyes really look at you. :~)
