  • Ramen Jiro Sendai (ラーメン二郎 仙台店) is one of the few Ramen Jiro outside of the Kanto area around Tokyo. Ramen Jiro serves a very heavy and rich tonkotsu shoyu ramen with thick noodles, massive chashu, a heap of sprouts and a large helping of garlic on the side.
Compared to other Ramen Jiro, the one in Sendai is special in various ways. First, it is famous for its huge portions. Even the small ramen bowls are already gutbusters. That's why the shop is also offering mini ramen which offer a more manageable portion. You can even find a small note on the vending machine that warns first time patrons of getting anything bigger than the small bowl.
Another specialty of Ramen Jiro Sendai is the offer of kimchi as additional topping. Personally, I think kimchi is one of the best toppings for Jiro style ramen bowls and if offered, are a must get.
Other topping options are cheese, quail eggs, minced ginger, raw onion and additional pork chashu slices.
Very untypically for Ramen Jiro shops, the atmosphere in the shop is very nice and lively. The owner is chatting away with his staff and some customers in a friendly manner.

Koreans would love it. Some ramen shops in Korea actually do serve kimchi on the side

@@hyunwhanjoe3477 i think it specifically works so well with Jiro style bowls as it cuts through the heaviness with some sourness, spice and crunch
