- I first filmed this engine at Emory Campbell's home in 2014. It has since been moved to Dudley Diebold's Topland Farm where it is now on permanent display. This video documents it running at Dudley's place in October 2019.
Enjoy!
Sounds just as healthy and beautiful as in 2014. Glad you didn’t spoil the patina with modern paint.🇨🇦
Excellent video as usual, many thanks. Britain hasnt always been second rate !!. Regards from across the pond.
Needs a good clean, then wiping over with an oily rag.
If that was mine, I wouldn't sleep either until all the rust is carefully removed from all the moving parts.
I sold and shipped this engine to Emory.
Well done.!!
I have a1939 56hP 260 RPM Blackstone very similar to this engine.(have not ran it in years) it has a third outrigger bearing and I think this engine may have had one also. the keyed section of the shaft was for a split pulley.
Is that a Dynamo mounted on the crankshaft? (or an AC generator???)
Is Mr Campbell still will us?
Yes, as far as I know.
I am guessing this is diesel. I was wondering where the electric generator portion of the engine is located ? Is it around the crankshaft area ?
Yes, it is a diesel. The generator or machinery can be driven by a large set of pulleys with one as the idler pulley or direct drive a generaor built around the crank shaft. With either set-up, there would be a large outboard main bearing and pedestal added.
is it just me or do them old motors talk to one
give the old girl some new paint
