Flight From Hell on United Airlines! Stuck on Same Plane Over 20 Hours!

The reality of airline travel, it’s not always pleasant and seamless, which can be true for any form of travel.
After boarding UA804 from Tokyo Haneda Airport direct to Dulles in DC, we were stuck sitting on the tarmac for 5 hours before take off, because of mechanical issues with the steering. The flight crew would not let anyone off the plane during this delay, they kept telling us it will just be "a few more minutes". Then, just before take-off, the captain announced that we now had to stop in San Francisco, and that the entire flight crew would have to be changed, because the current flight crew have "timed out" because of the delay. When we finally got to SF, we sat an additional 3 hours on the tarmac there, refueling, restocking, and changing flight crew, again, none of the passengers were allowed to de-board the plane. A direct 12 hour flight turned into over 20 hours sitting in the same cramped seats, with no passengers allowed to de-board until we reached Dulles. The swelling and edema in my legs has never gone away. And United Customer Care department sent me an indifferent response to my emails.

Lock me up , do what you have to do , but we're going back to that gate to let me off !!!

I've been through my collection of delayed flights, but what can you do? When it comes to flying economy I always pick an aisle seat. That way I can get up when I please and not bother anyone else. I suggest getting out of your seat at least every two hours and move around a bit. Hopefully no crazy air turbulence when you're unbuckled. There's been several incidents recently of passengers being injured, and even killed, from being thrown around the aircraft.

Well, this is United Airlines for you. If going overseas, fly a foreign carrier (I am American).

United planes are breaking down everyday. I highly recommend do not fly!
