- G'day mates! So, the car was charged up with fuel, so I left a Love Note and disappeared for the morning. I missed the sunrise, but am happy to share this with you.
Most of the images of this lighthouse have the ocean behind it. I scooped up something without the ocean behind it. :O

Hello All! thanks for all the comments and support on this one. It looks like i faked out 30% of the viewers with the fade just before the 2:00 mark. This a fake fade, and the best part of the video is in the last 45 seconds. I hope this helps!!

Very cool effects in the Intro and Great use of SFX. I liked the extreme speed ups. Personally I’m not a huge fan of transition effects. While they did not disturb me that much here, the footage itself was so awesome, that they weren’t needed. Really, really cool video which I enjoyed very much to the end! 👍

@@nategordon Was just listening to your sound effects again. Interesting how adding them really draws you into the video more than just music on its own. Works really well especially with the waves. I watched it with all sound off as well, It was still excellent but the music and effects really brings everything tighter together.

2 - you are correct...the audio piece(s) simply (but not) add to the flavor. AND, I’m no expert (obviously).
I fear that you will hold back on some quality bits, and not share videos that are truly great. If so, please reconsider, Tom.
Put an unfinished piece out there...I don’t mean that you shouldn’t put effort into it...I simply mean that you might need a couple of the bumps (almost typed bums) in the road to get you in a creative place.
I’m not big on creativity...for your viewing pleasure...a gigantic 7-yr old who still needs her a$$ wiped. 🤦♀️

Gonna keep liking my own comments im afraid its a habit plus helps me keep track of stuff in my notifications section and also was watching a couple of bits on developing youtube that say any interaction will help with the metric / algorithm of the channel your commenting on so in this case all our messages and interation with those messages help yours. also its an OCD thing.😂

2. Following on from the OCD thing. I am so critical of my work its crazy so although sound and good advice at the moment I'm going to stick with the polished ones. Also i am seriously lacking in new footage due to lack of flying.

Dave just filmed the same end subject, and nailed it. I suggest you check out his work. He is also local to New Hampshire and simply does a bang up job every time. I'm not sure how he gets past the copyright BS w/r/t his audio tracks though. He also gets fantastic view counts, but not much love with the thumbs or comments.

@@nategordon yeah of course, was just sad at the end that it's already over ... ;-) I liked this fade a lot - suits perfectly to the epic music and for me it was clear it's not the end of the video because the music did not end. And it was completely clear the highlight follows after this fade when the music goes crazy. And by the way this was really a great music, did you find this in the UA-cam Library? Do you happen to know the Title/Artist?

Good day, LiT! Thanks for the response, and bonus info. I feel bad about the 30%. 😂 Analytics show a dead straight line from the fade to a few seconds before the end.
I have a subscription to Soundstripe, and added the sound fx option around Christmas. I can’t recall exactly how much the combination broke out to...I think $5-$7 USD weekly. It’s worth the investment at ~2 videos weekly on here and ~1 family-related video not shared on here.

No Nate I’m talking about the seagull when you were directly overhead - looked cool. Of course I watched the whole video - always do 👍. I always enjoy your flights over water - adds a certain tension as there’s got to be a bit of wind up there. I enjoy little things like the ending when the drone is in view. In fact one of your videos of a waterfall a while ago it looked as though you had two drones, one videoing behind. Looked great.

I just wanted to make sure about this watch, as it had more time in the edit on audio than any prior bits, and of all my friends on here, I knew that you would appreciate it the most. I’m to the point that I won’t perform any vetting of other content without a headset on...as “you never know”. 😜
My handheld with the gimbal crapped out, so I had to lean the Osmo Action on a line of the roof of the car for the end shot...screwed up the color on the beginning and end in the edit, but life goes on. And, I have a new replacement in hand that has had no experience with how I like to work! Another Removu K1, I fear.
You are referring to the Diana’s Baths bit, where I tried to squeeze 2 location into 1 video just because it happened on the same day. Big mistake.

Hey Nate, I’ve just watched again - this time with headphones. You’ve done a really nice job with the waves and water sounds - goes really well with the music (hey, where did you get that music!)
When the dogs barked I instinctively looked for the dogs; and there they were playing on the beach. Nice touch and the subtle sounds really add to the experience. As you know, I love sound design.
Am I right that you don’t get any useable audio from the drone camera?

Yep...no mics on the drones. There is a setting on mine (and others, I assume) to record audio picked up by the controller along with the video. This is a budget friendly means of a voice over, but I never tried it...no interest.
Waves were a combination of live (from my action cam), and licensed. The song and all other clips and barks and OOOO RAAAAH and seagull sounds were licensed through Soundstripe.

Pretty awesome, liked the added audio for the surfers, the waves crashing. I didn't get fooled with the fake fade, but I think a color swap there would be cool to highlight some features. Amazing, amazing, liked the little warp on the way to the lighthouse and the trip back, gives an IMAX feeling over the lighthouse. Best way to see the lighthouse I was there a few years ago. Does the drone have range to go from long sands to short sands? Looks like you were able to go from Long Sands to Nubble. Not sure though, could just be good editing. Keep 'em coming!

hi lee! no worries mate. thank goodness there's enough pixels on these cameras these days to allow for the digital zoom without a drastic change in resolution! i believe i gave this video a 3 peach rating...as you have an issue with the thumbs up (and eggplants are a bit too much in my opinion). :P
