Just love how your husband's family came up with another plan, and survived after giving up thier heritage home. Maybe talk about resilience that helped them create a new life. I'm sure it wasn't easy.
I’m a Bhakti yogi, and a nerd for British history. Rare to see these two worlds collide. It is so interesting to hear about Alberta’s interest in Bhakti yoga and Karma yoga 100 years ago when it was quite rare to have access to that philosophy here in the west. Love your channel ❤

Such a sweet pair, you are. The love & resoect between you two is a delight. It's such a privilege to be able to see inside these stately homes, & to meet the huge personalities who run them. A renewed appreciation of the running costs, painstaking maintenance, repairs & reclamations done with such passion by you all is humbling, & a huge joy to see. Julie ❤ have you researched your ancestry? Never know what you will find. My uncle found a Dutches in ours way back in 1500-1600’s before they pilgrimaged over to North America (Mothers side). The Dutches was buried in their local Church. I found that odd. I love that you have a rich archive of a family members life 100 years ago. What a treasure! Thank you for including us in on your findings. I enjoy your channels.

To clarify, Owego is pronounced O-wee-go (equally emphasized). It's the county seat of Tioga county, the county where John D. Rockerfeller was born.

I enjoy this video series, so much. I do enjoy listening to the adventures and life experiences of Alberta 9th Countess, of Sandwich. It is very coincidental that you are both from Chicago. Viscountess Julie, you and the Countess Alberta, appear to truly be kindred spirits in so many ways.
Would love to see you sit down with your mother-in-law as well as your father-in-law. They are both fascinating people with a vast wealth of knowledge. If they are willing, it would be nice to visit with some of your Mapperton Staff and get to know them a little i. e. Malcolm, Chris and all of the others that you talk with from time to time. Not just as it relates to Mapperton but what they like to do when they are not working, etc.
Alberta is spirit guide for you Julie. You can ask her for help in times of need. You yourself our an American heiress. Your just self made, you’ve transformed and reinvigorated the family seat with many forms of revenue. “ The past is only the future with the lights one”

Hi Julie, The Willard Asylum for the Insane opened in 1869, in 1890, it was renamed The Willard State Hospital and in 1974, The Willard Psychiatric Center operating until 1995.
It was actually located in Ovid, NY, on Seneca Lake(one of NY’s Finger Lakes).
In one of your Lives(which I watched late) you mentioned Alberta was in Geneva, NY, which is also on Seneca Lake. In that live you also mentioned she visited a “Normal School” and weren’t sure what that was…Normal Schools were teacher colleges and most went on to be part of the State University of New York (SUNY) system.
Finally, Owego is pronounced O-WE-GO. :)
It is really beautiful that Julie is so invested in her husband's family. She is worthy of the honor that the title brings in every way.
Love this segment today. You touched on some information I was not aware about my beautiful State Capital of Texas. Did you know it IS the Tallest State Capital in the United States? Yes, it is.
I am inquiring if you would consider doing a complete video tour of Mapperton starting at the entrance front door and taking it room by room, according to the layout. I have been trying to figure out the layout of your home every time I see the very beginning of your videos, which shows the overview of the entire castle. I am subscribed to ALL your channels and watch every video you post. The content is so exciting and I am learning so much. My lineage goes back to England, Ireland and Scotland from Both of my parents. Thank You Julie, your husband Luke and Everyone with Mapperton for your time and commitment. It is much appreciated.

Jim….Go!!…..it’s awesome! We were thinking of heading back to Bournemouth Beach but can’t find a decent flight out of our poor excuse of an airport in Halifax. Still worth every bit of effort and Mapperton Estate has all you need for an enjoyable lunch!

I have friends that will be traveling through England this summer in August 7 I have strongly suggested that Mapperton MUST be on the tour. We are close to Ridgely and I said it simply must happen. Now she will be including it after a conversation with her travel planner.

As you are speaking I’m looking at everything in the room and attempting to date the items. It’s interesting that the cover on the sofa is so similar to the drapes. And I keep wondering if those drapes were made of fabric made by the Huguenots’ of Spitalfield. There is a very good fabric book at the V&A that might answer that question.
